We are so glad we chose Lotus as our wedding photographer. Creative photos of your details are essential for telling our couple's story.  When you look at your wedding album 20 years from now, I want you to instantly be taken back to that day.  When we are chosen to photograph a wedding, these are just some of the things we think about.

After we photograph your details, we move on to getting ready photos of the bride.  I usually ask the mother of the bride and maid of honor to assist the bride zipping up the back of her wedding dress, or helping put on the veil.  While these images are set up they are not posed.  We like to take candid photos of these events so we can capture all of the raw emotion of the wedding day.

During your ceremony, there will be many great candid photos for us to take.  When we photograph a ceremony we will take many candid photos of your ring exchange, vows, the first time the groom sees his bride-to-be walking down the aisle, your first kiss as husband and wife as well as many great expressions from your friends and family as your marry the man of your dreams.  We love being wedding photographers and these images are just one of the reasons why we do what we do. 

Fun Bridal Party Photos at Bridgeview Yacht Club

When we photograph bridal party photos at Bridgeview Yacht Club we have a number of locations to use.  One of my favorite locations is their outdoor ceremony area. The white backdrop is the perfect location to use to take light and airy photos of you and your bridesmaids, the groom and his groomsmen as well as all of the bridal party together.  

Our goal is to show your true relationships with your bridal party.  Of course, we will take a traditional photo of everyone looking at the camera, but the best photos for us to take are ones where everyone is laughing and smiling.  These candid photos are a must-have for any wedding album.

Bridgeview Yacht Club has many great locations to use for us to create romantic wedding photos on your big day.  The docks, the spiral staircase, the grand ballroom, as well as the front of the venue are all fantastic locations for your wedding photos.  When we photograph your wedding at Bridgeview Yacht Club we will use all of their grounds to create amazing photos that, your husband, your family, and friends will cherish forever.  

Reception Detail Photos at Bridgeview Yacht Club

While you are enjoying your cocktail hour, we will be hard at work photographing all of your reception details.  Some of the things we will focus on are getting creative photos of your wedding cake, dais, centerpieces, card box, your menu with your names and wedding date on it, as well as any other details that help us tell the story of your wedding day.  When you are choosing images for your wedding album, these images help set the tone and tell the full story of our couple's wedding day.

Night-Time Wedding Photos at Bridgeview Yacht Club

During your wedding reception, there will be many great moments that we will photograph.  Your grand entrance into the main ballroom, your first dance, the best man and maid of honor speeches, your parent dances, cake cutting ceremony, garter and bouquet toss, and all of these moments should be photographed as candidly as possible.  These are wedding photography 101 staples of any wedding album.  But the one time during your reception where we would like to take posed create photos is when we photograph your night-time wedding photos.   Bridgeview Yacht Club looks fantastic at night and is the perfect setting to take creative night-time wedding photos on your wedding day.  In this image, we used the venue itself as the backdrop, but we also love to use their red truck and Ferris wheel in our night-time photo session.  All of these images should take no more than 10 minutes.  We try to take these as fast as possible so you can get back to dancing and having a great time at your wedding.

Everything you need to know about Bridgeview Yacht Club

Bridgeview yacht club rooms & features.

The Pavilion at Bridgeview Yacht Club is their grand ballroom. It is 5,500 sq ft and can host up to 375 guests on your wedding day. 

It comes fully equipped with 1 full bar and two rolling bars that the guests at your reception will love. 

The 11 crystal chandeliers and 640 ft dance floor are perfect for all of your wedding reception photos.  Such as bridal parties grand entrance, the newlywed's grand entrance, your first dance as husband and wife, your best man and maid of honor speeches, parent dances, cake cutting ceremony, and garter and bouquet toss. 

The State Room at Bridgeview Yacht Club is where they host their cocktail hour as well as welcome your guests prior to your reception. 

It is 7,500 sq ft and has beautiful views of its docks and waterfront pier.  

It also leads up to the bridal suite on the second floor which is called the Bridgeview Room. 

Bridgeview Room

The Bridgeview Room is their bridal suite.  When you walk up the beautiful spiral staircase you will see a huge crystal chandelier, as you make your way past that, you will notice the wall of windows overlooking the pier and docks. 

When we photograph weddings here, we always use this room to create stunning images of our couples together as well as their fun bridal party photos. 

The Courtyards is Bridgeview Yacht Club's outdoor ceremony location.  It can host up to 300 guests and is the perfect place to say your "I do's."

When we photograph your ceremony in the Courtyards, we love to go upstairs and get a beautiful photo of your entire ceremony from above.  Of course, we will take many candid photos of the first time the groom sees his bride-to-be for the first time in her wedding dress, as well as your vows, ring exchange ceremony and first kiss as husband and wife.  But we would also like to throw in a few create photos of this beautiful event space.  

I also love to use the Courtyards to take fun bridal party photos like the ones you see here.  The white backdrop is perfect for us to create the light and airy wedding photos that our couples love. 

The Docks at Bridgeview Yacht Club are why most couples choose this venue to host their wedding reception.  The photos we are able to take here are breathtaking.  When we photograph your wedding at Bridgeview Yacht Club we will use the docks in a number of ways. 

I love to use this area to create creative and romantic photos of our couples together on their wedding day. The leading lines of the railing are symmetrical and look fantastic when photographed the right way. 

I also love to use the Docks to take fun and silly photos of the groomsmen and the groom as well as the bride and the bridesmaids.  

When you are choosing a professional wedding photographer to photograph your wedding at Bridgeview Yacht Club you want to make sure that they have extensive knowledge of your venue and know all of the great locations to use to create images like the ones you see here. 

The Spiral Staircase

The spiral staircase at Bridgeview Yacht Club is also a must-have for any Bridgeview bride.  It leads to their bridal suite and has a beautiful chandelier that photographs perfectly.  When I photograph a wedding at Bridgeview Yacht Club, I love going to the top of the staircase and have our couple in the center of the stairs, the leading lines of the spiral staircase frame the couple beautifully and are always requested for their wedding album.   

The Red Truck

The red truck is one of those spots that a lot of photographers don't know about. 

We use it for night time photos because of how the truck lights up at night. 

I love how the red of the truck compliments the bride's white wedding dress and the groom's tux.

Long Beach is a great location to use to take beautiful wedding photos if you are getting married at Bridgeview Yacht Club. 

Long Beach is only a short 10-minute drive away from Bridgeview Yacht Club.

Favorite Venues: Bridgeview Yacht Club & The Loft by Bridgeview

We have been meaning to write blog posts about all of our favorite venues for a long time. Now in the midst of this pandemic, not only do we have the time but it is more important than ever to support our industry peers, especially those that without them, we would not have the locations to photograph the beautiful weddings that we capture.

The final venue (s) on our Favorite Wedding Venues list is a two for one- The Bridgeview Yacht Club and their sister venue, the Loft by Bridgeview. We first worked at the Bridgeview Yacht Club a few years ago and fell in love. There is so much to photograph on site and we were actually the first to photograph around their new under construction venue, The Loft. Since that wedding, we were placed on their preferred vendor list and have returned numerous times since.

Each venue has its own unique personality. Bridgeview Yacht Club is an elegant venue with a tented reception room and chandeliers. The most popular photo spot is the boating dock in the back (beautiful during sunset!) but there is also so much to capture indoors- their staircase landing, the lobby fireplace and the bridal suite seating area.

The Loft by Bridgeview is a more edgy venue. It has a rustic yet elegant feel with the brick walls and hanging chandeliers. It is a smaller venue so we typically photograph weddings with less than 150 guests in this space. Photo locations include the lobby and hidden nooks indoors. Outdoors, the most popular spot is underneath the bridge at the waterfront.

Although physically different, both venues still have the same amazing staff and delicious food. Every time we work at either location, we feel at home and always can’t wait to head back!

Jennifer and Brian met while they were freshmen at Providence College. They were engaged in May 2018 and started to plan their wedding day shortly after. I met Jen and Brian for the first time last year for their Fire island Lighthouse Engagement Session and enjoyed hearing about their love story but also, hearing about their travels. These two love to travel and have been to some amazing places. It came as no surprise to me that they are planning a honeymoon to South Africa. Talk about an amazing honeymoon destination!

Jen and Brian’s wedding day finally arrived last Friday and couldn’t have been more lovely. The weather was everything any couple hopes for on their wedding day – beautiful, warm, and sunny with zero humidity. As for the wedding style, Jen and Brian love the beach and the ocean so there was a coastal theme throughout the day. From hues of blues and greens to wedding portraits on the beach and a unique wooden surfboard to use as a guestbook, their wedding day theme was apparent throughout the day and gave this wedding such a cohesive look. I think you’re going to love the color palette of sage green, pale blue, and white.

Jen and Brian, a big congrats to you both on your wedding! Your attention to detail made for such a beautiful event – I know all of your guests enjoyed the day as much as I did. Enjoy this recap of your big day as you enjoy your mini-moon and plan your big South African adventure!

Bridgeview Yacht Club Wedding

Our photographers and video team have worked at most of the top NYC wedding venues. From Brooklyn-based “industrial-chic ” warehouse wedding venues to traditional wedding receptions halls in Queens, our photography and videographers are experts at capturing amazing wedding photo and video in New York City! But, as much as our photographers love shooting in NYC , they are always excited to work at a Long Island waterfront wedding venues. Long Island, NY is home to tons of inexpensive wedding venues that offer couples and their guests a “destination wedding feel” without the travel and Bridgeview Yacht Club is one of our favorites! Offering all-inclusive wedding packages with several menus to choose from, the Long Island waterfront wedding venue can accommodate both intimate and large weddings.

Elizabeth and Daniel hired our team to capture their wedding celebration at Bridgeview Yacht Club and their wedding photos and video trailer came out perfect! They booked our photographer and videographer package with cinematography style wedding video and were excited that they could get everything they needed for an affordable price! Our team started with the Bride and Groom as they got ready at home in Queens. Daniel hung out with his groomsmen while the gorgeous bride got some help getting ready from her mom and bridesmaids. We love how the photos tell the story of their day and capture all the beautiful candid moments (including when her bridesmaids saw her in her wedding gown for the first time).

After their church ceremony, everyone headed over to Bridgeview Yacht Club for portraits. The newlyweds had a large wedding party so our two photographers worked together to make sure we captured all the wedding photos the couple wanted. After some fun wedding party photos on the pier, we spent some time capturing the Bride and Groom on the water and around the venue before the reception got started.

Bridgeview Yacht Club offers an amazing ballroom that is “tented” with beautiful fabric and crystal chandeliers giving that “outdoor reception” feel while inside. The ceiling to floor windows gave the happy couple and their guest great views of the waterfront during their reception as well. Our team had a great time capturing this Long Island wedding celebration. The wedding gallery is a perfect example of our photo-journalistic style and the cinematography style wedding video features great speeches and candid moments from their big day. The day of our wedding we had Eric as our maitre’d and Kris as our bridal attendant. These two deserve a medal! They went above and beyond the entire night. They were both waiting for us when we arrived at the venue and we were so excited! They welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like we knew them forever! They always made sure my husband and I were OK and even made a plate of food for us during the cocktail hour while we were busy mingling with our guests. The food at Bridgeview is literally out of this world and the amount of food at the cocktail hour and Viennese hour is unreal! Bridgeview knows how to throw a top notch wedding! We constantly think of how beautiful our wedding day was and we owe it all to Bridgeview! Our wedding was 3 weeks ago and we still have people to this day saying our wedding was one of the best weddings they’ve ever been to! Thank you Bridgeview for helping us to throw the wedding of our dreams.  “

” 5 stars is not enough! We got married  April 14  and it has taken me this long to write a review because I do not know how to put into words how incredible Bridgeview and their entire staff is. From our first visit to Bridgeview, Samantha was a breath of fresh air. We left there knowing that was where we were getting married! Every email I sent to Sam was answered within minutes. Anything we requested was accommodated without hesitation. The day of our wedding Sam was my bridal attendant and Eric was the Maitre’ d… aka THE DREAM TEAM!!! It was my first time meeting Eric and my groom and I felt so comfortable with him immediately. Sam and Eric kept track of every little thing, and every minute of the day so incredibly smoothly. There was literally not one glitch in the entire day. Also, there was no events happening at The Loft by Bridgeview so Eric suggested we go next door to take some pictures which came out incredible! Our families and friends are still raving about how it was the best wedding they have ever been to… amazing food, beautiful venue and wonderful, friendly staff. We had cocktail hour stations for dinner and it was a hit! So many different delicious options and the party didn’t stop! I cannot thank Bridgeview enough for the most amazing day of our lives. It was truly a dream come true!  “
