Sailboat hit and SUNK by powerboat off Weymouth

Does anybody here know more about this? I hate to generalize based on brand, but; while I avoid powerboats in general, I keep extra wary of SeaRays.  

And here is a video of Sea Tow diving on the sailboat; Looks like it was a nice boat with a Beta engine...  

Looks like the cockpit was run over. Terrifying. Betting booze involved. The boat is trashed either way, but watching SeaTow cut lines and the sail slugs made me wonder if they have the right to make it worse. The end of the video said they didn’t know if they had the salvage job.  

I don't see how anyone could make it worse. The only salvageable things on that boat might be the sails, I think. Sounds as if the motor boat's props went right through the cockpit and those in it. I hope the people will be all right.

We had one like that last year and it was very scary. With a high speed boat coming at approx. 90 degs I didn't know what course change I could make that would help. We sounded 5 blasts of the airhorn as they got close and they passed very close astern. I couldn't tell if they ever changed course or we were just lucky.  

Regarding the diver cutting the sail slugs; I believe that the boom was broken in two. This leads me to believe that the 38 foot SeaRay passed THROUGH the cockpit, and the sail. The damage to the topside and gunnel of the sailboat was from the prop. Regardless, the owner of the vessel has bigger issues than a couple of sail slugs and some line.

Not much information about how this actually occurred and what happened. With the two victims hospitalized and the powerboat's captain (according to another site) apparently a licensed professional, Insurance companies will probably try to keep things as quiet as possible.  

Thanks for the additional info. I would like to know about the "licensed professional" part. Even if the sailboat was under power, she still had her jib out, and would have appeared to be a sailboat under sail, and therefore the powerboat should have stayed clear.  

Seeing the bow strike mid-cockpit is terrifying. Seems she downflooded, when stuffed underwater. Cripes. Any update on the crew?

1960 Defever 47 Trawler One can tell from the equipment list and the photos that though this boat is 55 years old it has had continued care and upgrades since the day it was launched. The seller has owned Pau Hana ll for the past 30 years, has cruised offshore extensively from Mexico to Alaska and he is only the second owner. These Defever designs are born from the needs of the Pacific Tuna fleets of southern California. They needed to provide safe, economical voyages of long duration in all kinds of weather. What developed has become the design standard of the modern day pleasure trawler. Defever and Lindwall worked together and in the 1960's built 10 offshore trawlers from 40' to 58', Pau Hana ll is one of them. On board is a note book of photos from the original building. It shows the massive, vertical grain fir scantlings. The original fastenings are monel and show "as new." 1993 Camano 31 Trawler The Camano 31 Trawler is well known in the Pacific Northwest, and with her Keelform hull, sturdy construction, huge fly-bridge they have earned a reputation as a very capable small cruising trawler. This boat includes several customization's: custom wine storage cabinet in the salon, overhead storage cabinet for charts and chart books. Additionally, this vessel is registered as a LLC and participates in the WindWorks charter program in Seattle. Built with the BMW engine these engines have proven to be exceedingly reliable and parts are readily available. ( Interestingly in 1992 - 1993 US buyers were turned off with the Volvo engines due to higher costs for parts, as such Bob Warman (the designer and builder) chose to use the BMW engine for the US market as BMW / Mercruiser was and is well known. As best as we can determine, three were built using the BMW / Mercruiser engine and there have been no complaints about this engine by any of the owners" The owner of this boat has provided information for your reference:______________________________________________________________________________________________"The BMW engine website is : http://www.bmwmarine.comRichard Langty is who I have spoken with at BMW Marine. They have complete rebuild kits for this motor for around $1600 US. The rebuild in done in the boat and the motor does not need to be removed. That's a Huge advantage over the Volvo motor! Other Camano owners are jealous of this fact.The motor has both the Mercruiser and BMW part numbers. Richard can tell you how to read the numbers. Simply Mercruiser placed a 4 or 5 digit number in front of the original BMW number. So it is very easy to cross reference these numbers and find parts. BMW Marines network extends all the way back to the original factory in Belgium when the BMW Sliver paint was changed to Mercruiser Black. On my motor your can see where the original BMW casting was and it was milled off by Mercruiser. Richard Langtys number in Ontario is 807-543-3003. "Parts can be shipped over night. That engine is one tough beast and still has another 3000 or more hours in her."This Camano represents a outstanding deal for a savvy buyer so do call today to arrange a time to inspect. ABOUT TRAWLERS

Trawler boats are traditionally working fishing vessels, ruggedly built to withstand rough seas. Over the last few decades, trawlers are being built for recreational purposes offering luxury and spacious accommodations in a long-range cruising yacht. Search for new and used trawler boats for sale by type, length, price, and location. 

Main characteristics of Trawler Boats

Trawler boats fall into two broad categories; those that are used as working fishing boats and those that are for purely recreational purposes. There are many converted trawlers out there, but today shipyards are building more and more specialized luxury long-range cruising yachts . They come in many styles, but those that qualify as true recreational trawler yachts will have a strong hull (often full- or semi-displacement), which is able to handle ocean conditions, large accommodation and living spaces, and provides excellent fuel efficiency at low speeds so that they can cruise for long periods. They will also be self-sufficient, have lots of storage, and be comfortable liveaboards.

Trawler boats tend to range from 40- to 85 feet in length, but can be as small as 28 feet and as large as 120 feet or more. 

Types of Trawler Boats

Midsize trawler boats.

Trawler boats come in a range of sizes, but the midsize under-60-foot category dominates the market. Compact and able to be handled by two people easily, they also offer a huge amount of living space, with roomy cabins and large galleys and saloons. Different from other boats of the same size, they have very long-range capabilities, able to cruise for hundreds of miles, make their own water, and be mostly self-sufficient. 

Luxury Trawler Yachts

Topping the size charts are trawler yachts, which can be anything up to 120 feet in length, putting them squarely in the superyacht category. They offer a rugged, sturdy hull allowing them to be true adventure vessels. They also offer a high level of luxury as you’d expect with a superyacht, with all consideration placed on self-sufficiency. 

Small Trawler Boats

Trawler boats with all the same characteristics of the midsize and larger models—long-range capabilities, spacious living areas, strong hulls, and self-sufficiency—can be packed into a much smaller boat. The idea of being able to cruise around the world in a 40-foot motorboat was once unthinkable but is now very possible thanks to clever designs and innovative engineering. They also benefit from the same level of luxury you get in a much larger yacht, with high spec finishes and amenities. 

Best Trawler Boats Brands

Trawler boats and yachts are popular thanks to their high safety specifications and unparalleled comfort for long-range cruising in a compact-sized vessel. One such brand who has been a pioneer in the trawler boat industry is Grand Banks , whose custom luxury yachts are able to cruise up to 1000 nautical miles at 20 knots, or 3,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.

When it comes to styling, recreational trawler boats are no longer the functional workhorses they once were, yet some brands such as Kadey Krogen have chosen to keep the classic American styling in honor of their heritage. Their boats range from 44 to 70 feet, have full displacement hulls, and huge amounts of interior space. 

Running the full size range, Beneteau Swift Trawler boats run from 35 feet to 62 feet, while Nordic Tugs focus on small- and midsized models starting with a pocket-sized 26-foot model up to 54 feet. They too honor the classic styling of the workboats and are able to withstand harsh seas. 

Again paying homage to traditional workboats is American Tug , whose vessels are based on rugged Alaskan fishing boats that traditionally would be able to carry heavy loads, have good fuel efficiency, and tackle strong sea conditions. 

Moving into the yacht category are brands such as Nordhavn , and their 120-foot superyacht trawler, as well as Netherlands-based Selene Yachts and their vast range of trawler boats which range from 38 feet all the way up to their superyacht status 128-foot model. Their mid-sized explorer yachts offer luxury, functionality, safety, and long-range capabilities. These brands are luxurious throughout their range, yet combine it with the adventurous spirit that trawlers are known for. 

Why Choose Trawler Boats?

Trawler boats offer long-range cruising capabilities, large luxurious living spaces, and strong hulls. This makes them ideal boats for those looking to cross oceans and spend long stretches of time cruising. They make for comfortable liveaboard boats, and are able to accommodate families, yet they are manageable for a couple cruising alone. They range from compact models to superyacht-sized but are usually in the 50- to-60-foot range.

TRAWLER YACHTS FOR SALE

Historically, trawlers are commercial fishing boats that pull large purse-shaped nets called “trawls” and, depending on the geographical area where they are built, a distinctive profile, usually one with a prominent pilothouse. These vessels are also known for having hulls with a large submerged volume (displacement) for their length on the waterline. (For the technically minded, a D/L > 400.) Their large displacement equates to carrying capacity for larger loads.

Over the last several decades, the term “trawler yacht” has evolved into common usage. It’s applied to a group of pleasure craft nominally intended for long-distance cruising and extended liveaboard, but with hulls that exhibit less displacement (submersed volume) than true commercial trawlers and are more suited to the needs of recreational sailors.

Although trawler yachts vary from one another in terms of their level of fit and finish and interior accoutrements, as a group, they are distinguished from “luxury motor yachts” by their general emphasis on function over form. The most popular trawler yachts also tend to be small enough to be owner-operated by a couple, without the assistance of a professional captain or crew — a limiting factor that has become easier and easier to meet these days because of the widespread adoption of bow and stern thrusters and electronic controls that include position-keeping functions.

For all reasons and seasons

For sailors making a transition to power yachting, LOA for LOA, a trawler yacht will generally have more and roomier accommodations than a sailing yacht. The trawler yacht also generally encompasses more of what could be termed “shoreside conveniences”, all-electric galleys, full size refrigerators and freezers, king- or queen-sized beds, and spacious heads. Perhaps, most telling, trawler yachts generally have more and larger windows and, therefore, more natural light in their accommodation spaces — a big plus for extended cruising and liveaboard.

Which trawler yachts are the most attractive depends, in most cases, on your background and experience. For instance, most sailing yachtsmen, who are used to maximum speeds of 6 to 8 knots, have little trouble transitioning to a full displacement trawler yacht with similar cruising and top speed. Indeed, yachtsmen moving from a sailing yacht to a trawler yacht usually find the elimination of the rigors of sail handling, plus the pleasures of navigating from an enclosed (climate-controlled and sheltered) helm position more than enough to justify their transition, without making any gains in passagemaking speed.

A trawler yacht is a trawler yacht is a trawler yacht… not!

Trawler yachts are also distinguished from one another according to their hull forms which include full displacement, semi-displacement, and planing types. The last of these categories being generally referred to as “fast trawlers” which exhibit more powerful main propulsion engines (usually twins) and achieve top speeds well into the “planing” range. 

There are a lot of myths about which hull form is best for a trawler yacht, but the fact is the correct  choice depends on what you want primarily to do with your trawler, what her main waters of operation are likely to be, and how fast you want to go, both most of the time and occasionally. 

Full displacement trawler yachts are vessels that move through the water with their weight supported entirely by buoyant forces. As such, their immersed volume (displacement) remains constant underway, and the resistance which they face is generated primarily by the wave system they create as they push water out of their way. In general, a full displacement hull for can achieve a maximum top speed in knots of about 1.4 times the square root of its waterline length — or about 8 knots for a yacht that measures 36’ on her load waterline (LWL). 

In contrast, semi-displacement trawler yachts have hull forms that generate a significant measure of hydrodynamic lift underway. This additional lift causes them to rise as they move through the water and thereby reduce the immersed volume of water (displacement) they must push out of their way. With less underwater volume, these semi-displacement hull forms can achieve higher top speeds than full displacement vessels — on the order of 13 to 15 knots for a yacht 36’ LWL.

Finally, there are the fast trawlers which are cruising yachts with trawler-yacht above-water profiles set atop of what are essentially full planing hull forms. Underway, these vessels generate enough hydrodynamic lift for them to rise pretty much onto the surface of the water and run with relatively very little hull volume immersed. And in this way, attain speeds on the order of 15 to 19 knots or higher top speed, depending on the size (HP) of their engines.

To be thorough, I also need to mention what I refer to as hybrid trawler yacht hull forms. For instance, full displacement hull forms that gain a modest boost in practical top speed through the addition of a bulbous bow — an underwater protrusion at the hull’s forefoot that overlays its own wave system on that of the hull proper and, in so doing, smooths out the latter, thereby reducing wave-making resistance. 

Searching for the best of all worlds

You might think that having a semi-displacement hull form gives you the best of all worlds, efficient displacement speeds for long-distant cruising plus higher speeds when you want them. And to some extent that’s almost true. 

Unfortunately, in the world in general, when you gain some flexibility with a “combo tool”, you almost always give away the top-rate performance of a special-purpose tool designed for a specific, narrow application. And the same is true in the world of yachts. 

You might find a semi-displacement trawler yacht that will do an acceptable job running at displacement speeds and a pretty good job running at semi-displacement speeds. But you’re not likely to find one that runs at displacement speeds as efficiently as a well-designed full displacement vessel.

Finding the “sweet spot"

Independent of the speed range in which a particular yacht operates, every hull has its own “sweet spot” for cruising, namely, the point at which nautical miles covered per gallon of fuel consumed is maximized. 

This is not just a matter of running slow or slower than you might otherwise want. Since the major contributor to a given hull’s total resistance is wave-making resistance, a given yacht might achieve better economy (nautical miles covered per gallon of fuel burned) and greater range running by faster rather than slower.

For example, suppose a given semi-displacement trawler yacht with a 36’ LWL burns 10 gallons per hour total at 8 knots but only 6 gallons per hour at 6 knots. You might decide it makes sense to operate most of the time at 6 knots which represents only a 25% reduction in speed yet a 40% saving in fuel costs and a 25% increase in range.

Well, you might do well to think more than once about it. The numbers might also indicate that, at 8 knots, the semi-displacement trawler yacht in question is running just below the speed at which she starts to rise significantly, reduce her effective immersed volume (displacement), and run at a reduced rate of increase in resistance. And that, consequently, if you push her to 12 knots, she’ll find her “sweet spot” and burn only 14 gph (which would work out to 0.85 nm per gal). 

It’s obvious that 14 gph at 12 knots is a lot higher rate of fuel consumption than 4 gph at 6 knots. What is not so obvious, however, is that running at 12 knots with this particular yacht would achieve almost as good fuel economy as running at 6 knots, when measured in gallons per nautical mile covered (0.85 mpg versus 1.0 mpg). 

On the other hand, let’s suppose you don’t care to ever run as fast as 12 knots but are content to run always at 8 knots or less. In that case, you might be better to select a full displacement hull form which will be much more efficient than a semi-displacement form when running at displacement speeds. Indeed, a full displacement trawler yacht of the size we’re talking about could conceivably use as little as 2 gph or 3 mpg running at 6 knots.

The bottom line is that, all other factors equal, you’re better off choosing a trawler yacht hull form that most closely fits your anticipated operational profile. Naturally, the case is rare when, in fact, all other factors are equal. In which case, you need to decide just how operating efficiency (fuel economy, range, etc.) fits into your prioritized list of requirements.

The ghosts of the Arctic are stirring back to life

Russian provocations on the archipelago of Svalbard are driving up tensions at the top of the world.

A Soviet-era Playboy model smiles coyly from a torn poster hanging in the men’s dormitory. Nearby, clippings from ‘90s Russian car magazines are peeling off the wall.

They were stuck here more than 30 years ago by Russian coal miners, our guide Anatoliy Sergeev explains, "something on the wall to just dream about" during the long Arctic winters. 

Then one day the miners left, and this room became frozen in time.

We’re standing in what was once a thriving Soviet mining settlement called Pyramiden. At its peak it was home to as many as 2,000 people, until it was eventually abandoned after the fall of the Soviet Union, leaving behind an eerie wonderland of desolation and decay.

But there are signs this ghost town is stirring back to life.

Despite appearances, Pyramiden isn’t in Russia – it’s in Svalbard, a part of Norway. For decades, Norwegians and Russians have lived side by side on this archipelago, about a thousand kilometres from the North Pole.

Lately, though, tensions are on the rise. As Moscow’s aggression in Ukraine has increased, so too has its interest in Svalbard. 

Pyramiden remains a tiny Russian foothold on NATO soil. Ambitious plans to redevelop parts of the outpost, while giving greater access to Kremlin allies like China, have some Norwegians worried about foreign actors encroaching on Europe’s northern frontier.

It's part of a growing list of Russian provocations and posturing in Svalbard. In recent years, Russians have been accused of using the archipelago as a backdrop for propaganda and patriotic stunts, and even sabotage.

With the Arctic emerging as one of the most strategically important regions on the planet – and a key arena in the confrontation between Moscow and the West – there are growing suspicions of Russian intentions in what was once a forgotten corner of the globe. 

An 'Arctic phoenix'

There are no roads into Pyramiden.

Depending on the time of year, it's only accessible by boat, helicopter or snowmobile.

That hasn't stopped visitors making the journey, and there are plans for more to come.

"This is the most north-eastern Soviet town in the world," says Anatoliy, as we walk through the old town square. Pyramiden sits at the foot of a stepped, snow-covered mountain that gives the settlement its name.  

Over the past decade and a half, it’s become something of a tourism oddity, an open-air museum offering glimpses into life at the height of Soviet power. From the square, a stone bust of Russian Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin stares down over the abandoned buildings, a relic of the vast empire once ruled over from Moscow.

Pyramiden was a model Soviet settlement, and life here for the Russian miners and their families was good. There was a heated swimming pool, a school, and a canteen with free food.

The miners would eat in the dining room underneath palm trees set on plinths. An enormous mosaic of the Arctic landscape still covers the back wall – a bright, colourful respite for the miners’ eyes after long shifts digging coal deep in the frozen dark. 

"I think for the guys working here, life was perfect," Anatoliy says. 

But by the late 1990s, the settlement was in decline, and proving too remote and too costly to maintain. These days, the buildings are gathering dust and falling apart. 

A colony of kittiwake seabirds has taken over an apartment block in the town centre, roosting in the windowsills that resemble their natural habitat in the icy sea cliffs. The gulls squawk incessantly through 24 hours of summer daylight.

Only two of the several dozen buildings in the settlement are still in use: the hotel, and a cultural centre, which has a working cinema.

At the start of this year, just 12 workers lived in Pyramiden, mostly hospitality and maintenance staff. They’re workers for Trust Arktikugol, the Russian state-owned coal mining company that owns the land and Russia’s operations in Pyramiden.

In recent years, the company has tried to attract more visitors to the ghost town, describing it as an "Arctic phoenix that is more alive than ever". But the COVID pandemic, coupled with sanctions in the wake of the war in Ukraine and a boycott by tourism companies, who don’t want any money going towards the Putin regime, have made that challenging.  

Still, Russian authorities allegedly have grand visions to bring this place back to life. Aside from the dog-eared Playboy-model poster and car magazine clippings, the men’s dormitory has been gutted for renovations. "I think they build something like a bar on the first floor, or maybe [a] new hotel," says Anatoliy.

Russian authorities have said they want to bring more tourists here via direct flights from the Russian mainland and on cruise ships. They’ve also said repeatedly in domestic forums that they want to build a new science centre in Pyramiden, inviting what Russia calls "friendly countries" – including China and India – to be a part of it.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin has labelled Norway an "unfriendly country", despite the fact that Svalbard is a Norwegian territory and one of the few places where official contact has been maintained between the two countries. 

It's not clear if Norway would allow the science centre to ever become a reality. 

But for Russia, being seen as ambitious and defiant on a NATO member’s territory is potentially good propaganda for a domestic audience, says Dr Andreas Østhagen, a senior researcher in Arctic security and geopolitics at the Fridtjof Nansen Institute in Oslo.

"This larger narrative – Russia versus the rest, versus the West – plays well domestically," Dr Østhagen says. "Even Putin needs support – domestic support – whether it’s political support by elites or general support."

In Pyramiden, at least, not, all visitors appear to have got the message. At the bottom of a stairwell in an abandoned swimming pool, written by a finger in the thick dust, are two disemvoweled English words: "Fck Ptn".  

Russia 'showing the middle finger'

Part of what makes Svalbard such hot property geopolitically is its location as a gateway to the Arctic. As temperatures rise, there are predictions the Arctic could be ice-free in the summer in coming decades, opening up new shipping routes — including what China calls the "Polar Silk Road".

It's also close to the Kola Peninsula, where Russia keeps much of its nuclear arsenal and naval fleet. "At the end of the Cold War, the idea was that Svalbard would be basically a perfect location to control activity in the North Atlantic," Dr Østhagen says.

Svalbard is governed by a century-old treaty that gives Norway sovereignty but allows non-Norwegian citizens – including Russians – to live and work there visa-free.

The treaty forbids the archipelago from being used for "war-like" purposes, but if war ever broke out, that may not hold. "If you have an outright conflict … between a NATO country and Russia, Svalbard is in play," says Dr Østhagen. 

In recent times, Russians have been accused of pushing the boundaries in Svalbard. In Longyearbyen, the main town on the archipelago, Russians put up a huge red neon sign on their guesthouse without permission from Norwegian authorities. It reads "Visit Spitsbergen", the Russian word for "Svalbard".

Last year, in Pyramiden, the Russian state-owned coal mining company released a video of staff and a visiting Russian Bishop erecting a seven-metre-high Russian Orthodox cross on a hillside, again without Norwegian permission. 

Then there are allegations of sabotage.

In early 2022, one of two undersea cables that connect Svalbard to the mainland was damaged. The cables are the main point of connectivity for SvalSAT, the world’s largest satellite ground station located above Longyearbyen, the main Norwegian settlement on Svalbard.

The number one suspect was a Russian fishing trawler that allegedly sailed back and forth over the cable more than a hundred times. A police investigation didn’t lead to any charges – and the ship owner denied it – but suspicions remain. 

"If I had to bet, I would bet on Russia," says Dr Østhagen. "I would bet that this was done deliberately to signal, to showcase to the West, to Norway, that we have the capabilities to cut. We know where these cables are."

Last year, on Victory Day – when Russians commemorate the Soviet Union’s triumph over Nazi Germany in World War II – Russian locals held what has been labelled by some as a "military-style" parade in the main Russian settlement of Barentsburg. Vehicles with Russian flags drove down the main street while a helicopter flew above. 

"We are used to seeing flag parades in Russia, but we never saw them in Barentsburg," says Terje Aunevik, the mayor of Longyearbyen. "We are not invited there anymore. So it’s a massive change on that and it happened just overnight, more or less." 

It’s part of a pattern of increased Russian patriotism on display to the world since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. "If you do arrange, say, a military-style parade, [it] is basically showing the middle finger to Norwegian authorities in the Arctic, or in Svalbard," says Dr Østhagen. "And I think it plays well domestically." 

A Russian revival

Early one morning, the silence over Pyramiden is shattered by the beating rotors of a Russian Mi8 helicopter.

The abandoned buildings have been decorated with bright red Soviet flags, their yellow hammer and sickle emblems flapping in the wind.

About 20 Russians file out of the helicopter onto the snow.

In the lead is a man who unfurls a giant Russian tri-colour flag – Ildar Neverov, the head of the Russian state-owned coal company that runs Pyramiden.

The visitors have come from Barentsburg. Over the next few hours, three more helicopter loads of people arrive. They’re here to mark Victory Day with a special commemoration for the "Immortal Regiment". It’s an event that’s held all over Russia, but this is the first time it has ever been held in Pyramiden.

They parade up the main square holding images of relatives who took part in the war, before laying poppies at the foot of a monument to the "Great Patriotic War".

There is a clear sense of pride that they have been able to bring this commemoration to Russia’s northernmost outpost. "We are here in archipelago for 93 years ... it is place with rich history," says Ildar Neverov. 

Several workers from the company are filming the parade, which was later shown on a major state-controlled news channel back in Russia. 

At the edge of the helipad, Ildar Neverov agrees to speak to Foreign Correspondent on camera about the Victory Day celebrations. He insists on having the Soviet, Russian and coal mining company flags in the background of the camera shot.

He says the Victory Day celebrations were not designed to be provocative, and when asked about rumoured plans for the science centre, he is as coy as the Russian Playboy model. "For me, it is always better to say about something when it is already happened," he says.

For Norwegian authorities, activity in and around Svalbard by non-Norwegian actors like Russia and China is high on their radar. The Norwegian government has recently said it wants to strengthen control over Svalbard.  

"If we don't have enough oversight, enough, call it control, and we are suddenly taken by surprise that somebody has established themselves in a way that is irreversible, it can be very difficult to regain the control," says Jon Fitje Hoffmann, special advisor to Svalbard’s governor from Norway’s domestic intelligence service.

It is in Russia’s interest to maintain a presence in Svalbard, according to Dr Østhagen, and it is also a place where NATO’s resolve could be tested – and Norway kept guessing.

"I think it's clear that what Russia is interested in is to use Svalbard as a pressure point … that Norway feels a bit unsure or uncertain about what Russian authorities are actually interested in doing in Svalbard."
