Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan is at it again. His 400-foot superyacht Kismet (formerly Project Jag) is due to splash this summer, and true to form, it’s another crazy attention-grabbing creation.
Khan’s third custom-built Lürssen has a 5,500 gross tonnage, almost double the weight of his former 312-foot yacht (also named Kismet and now renamed Whisper ), which he sold last September for a cool $160 million. It’s not just the name that’s the same. Both boats have fire pits, video walls, a basketball court and wild chandeliers, but this time Khan’s added an underwater Nemo lounge, a duplex owner’s suite, and a retro neon dance floor. Oh, and this six-deck behemoth’s hull is a whopping 88 feet longer.
The Pakistani American billionaire has a reputation for making a statement. Aboard his previous yacht he mandated a “Champagne and caviar” interior from Reymond Langton that screamed excess, with a custom grand piano that sat beneath a sweeping black-and-gold Art Deco staircase. The new 400-foot Kismet also enjoys interiors by the British design studio in partnership with Khan’s family, while the exterior is by Nuvolari Lenard.
Kismet ’s week charter price of roughly $3.25 million makes it one of the most expensive charter yachts in the world alongside Flying Fox . It’s an average of about $272,000 each for 12 guests, who are accommodated in nine ensuite cabins. The crew of 37 is on hand to make it a memorable week.
A full suite of water toys, from sea bobs and eFoils to Flitescooters and an inflatable slide, add to the waterside fun. There’s also a floating deck to park Jet Skis, a sailing dinghy, and storage for a private submersible. When venturing from the mothership, a four tenders, including a 37-foot Hodgdon and a 39-foot Naiad, will transport owners and their guests.
Here are 12 cool facts about one of the world’s most expensive charter yachts, available from this summer through Cecil Wright.
The Jacksonville Jaguars Link
Khan’s former 312-foot Kismet was hard to miss, thanks to a 13-foot silver jaguar statue (in inset above) that he mounted on the bowsprit every time his NFL team played. This time, he’s decided to make the big cat a permanent fixture by incorporating a silver sculpture on the underside of the bowsprit. He’ll be flying the flag for his NFL football team everywhere he cruises. You can just make out the sleek, silver Jaguar under the end of the bow.
Gilded Duplex Owner’s Apartment
The full-beam owner’s apartment, spanning two decks, is dripping in gold. It includes a large primary suite with a circular skylight, a fireplace, and gilded wall coverings with bed linens and carpets to match. There are two separate marbled bathrooms and dressing rooms and a private hot tub forward, as well as one of two hair salons/beauty rooms on board. The remaining guest cabins can be configured as doubles or twins.
Music Maestro
A DJ station overhanging the bridge deck aft is where guests can spin some tunes on the decks, but it’s Khan’s love of custom pianos that steals the show. A Bogányi grand piano in the upper deck was designed by award-winning Hungarian pianist Gergely Bogányi. Its swooping curves and cantilevered body wraps around a crimson red cast-iron plate that holds 21 tons of string tension.
Therapy at Sea
Kismet is one of only a handful of yachts to have a cryotherapy chamber on board and possibly the first chromotherapy bathtub. They’re in the dedicated Balinese-inspired spa on the lower deck, along with a hammam, sauna, and private massage room. There’s also a gym and yoga studio and a juice bar, both with opening sea terraces.
The ‘80s Effect
In a nod to ‘80s retro arcade games, Kismet ’s “Tron corridor” includes neon accents and a wireframe matrix dance floor in pink and blue that lights up for the full disco effect. During the day, it serves as a relaxing transition point between the wellness area and guest areas, with lounging sofas and a cocktail bar.
Making a Splash
When the gin-clear surrounding waters aren’t enough, three swimming pools—two with waterfall features—and four outdoor showers should do it. There’s also a swim-up bar on the pool deck.
A Nemo Theater
Two cinemas—one outdoor on the bridge deck and one indoor on the lower deck—deliver the latest in movies. Of course, the real cinematic experience comes in the form of an underwater Nemo viewing window. It sits just below the 150-inch drop-down TV in the cinema lounge, so guests can spot passing sharks while viewing Jaws on screen. Pre-movie drinks are served in four interior bars, including the Champagne bar and wine cellar room.
Hoops on the Helipad
Forward of the master cabin on the foredeck is a helipad that can accommodate an H155 helicopter for guest transfers. It also doubles as a basketball and pickleball court. It’s not clear if Khan will ever use the helipad or keep it exclusively for ball sports as he did on the previous Kismet.
Global Cuisine
Kismet ’s culinary options span from Michelin star-level dining to an outdoor pizza oven, a teppanyaki cooking station, and barbecue on the pool deck. Seating arrangements shouldn’t be a problem either, with configurations for up to 24 guests on the upper deck, 18 on the main deck and 14 on both the top and pool decks.
Khan has long been a fan of a bioethanol fireplace, choosing to have three on his former yacht. He’s increased the number to four this time, accompanied by ornate marble surroundings. There are also two external fire pits for chilly evenings and under-floor heating in guest areas.
Boardroom With a View
When attending to business on board, a primary office on the pool deck brings stunning ocean and outside-deck views while being accessed via a private staircase from the owner’s suite. It has a conference table and its own dedicated pantry for hosting meetings.
Stairway to Heaven
Kismet ’s elaborate central staircase appears to have the same video walls as the previous yacht, bringing pops of green and yellow lighting. It’s complemented by a handful of living walls with vegetation. Other plants are spread across the six decks, bringing the outdoors in.

Photos: A look at Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s yacht Kismet through the years
It’s a big week for Shad Khan’s Jacksonville Jaguars.
The team has the top pick in the NFL Draft once again, giving them a chance to get some help for Trevor Lawrence, who was picked No. 1 overall by the Jags last year.

In honor of the Jags’ upcoming moment in the spotlight, let’s take a trip down memory lane with another one of Khan’s assets: The Kismet, his nearly $200M yacht.
‘I WANT TO LIVE ON IT’
Action Sports Jax’s Brent Martineau first gave you a look at the mega yacht when it was brand-new and anchored in the Thames River ahead of the Jags’ London game against the Dallas Cowboys in 2014.
Khan sold his previous yacht in 2013, replacing it with the 300-foot Kismet, which took two years to build. Back then, the Kismet had a statue of a Jaguar on the front.
One of the Kismet’s onlookers in London declared “I want to live on it!”
‘MY FEET WOULD NEVER TOUCH LAND’
The yacht made it to the River City in 2015, docking in the St. Johns River next to the CSX building.
Deborah Kaczorowski of Jacksonville told Action News Jax then she was impressed with the Kismet.
“My feet would never touch land — maybe once a week —- if I had something like that,” Kaczorowski said. “I’d enjoy that bad boy.”
KISMET FOR SALE
In October 2020, the Kismet was listed for sale .
At that time, the asking price was $199,039,663. Now, the Kismet’s listing says “POA” under the asking price.
“POA” means “price on application” or “price on asking,” which means the seller must be contacted to get the price.
‘I CAN MOVE THE NEEDLE’
In December 2021, the Kismet was the site of an informal question-and-answer session with the media as Khan reflected on his 10-year anniversary as the owner of the Jaguars.
He reiterated his hope to help elevate the city to new heights and bring a Super Bowl to Jags fans.
“There’s a vacuum here, there’s a football team here and as an owner I can move the needle,” Khan said. “How many times do you get a chance to move a needle in a good way in a great American city, very rarely. That’s the power here.”

Digitally resurrecting actors is still a terrible idea
In the long-running "Alien" movie franchise, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation can’t seem to let go of a terrible idea: It keeps trying to make a profit from xenomorphs -- creatures with acid for blood and a penchant for violently bursting out of human hosts. Sadly, as much as I liked “Alien: Romulus” (and I liked it a lot!), the new sequel (or "interquel") can’t escape a terrible idea of its own: Hollywood’s fixation on using CGI to de-age or resurrect beloved actors. “Alien: Romulus” tries to pull off a similar trick — while it doesn't resurrect the exact same murderous android from the original “Alien,” it features an identical model, seemingly played by the same actor, Ian Holm, who died in 2020.

Lürssen's 122m superyacht Kismet delivered
The 122-metre Lürssen superyacht Kismet has been delivered following successful sea trials off the coast of Kiel, Germany. According to BOATPro , her final destination is Troon, Scotland.
Previously known as Project Jag, Kismet was commissioned by repeat Lürssen client Shahid Khan, who previously owned the 95.2-metre Lürssen yacht Whisper (formerly Kismet ) . His new yacht reunites him with Reymond Langton Design for the interior, but the exteriors on the new build have been helmed by Nuvolari Lenard .
The delivery news follows the reveal of Kismet 's computer-rendered interiors by her central agency for charter, Cecil Wright . Kismet charters for €3,000,000 per week plus expenses.
Interiors have been described as a "beautiful, bespoke homage to the owner’s lifestyle" by the yard. The renderings show a dramatic theme, with an elaborate staircase that appears to have the same video walls as the original Kismet . Fireplaces, floor-to-ceiling glass and intricate paint and marble detailing also feature throughout.
Speaking about her entrance on the charter market, Chris Cecil-Wright said: "Having sold the previous Kismet in September last year, we are delighted to be able to continue our relationship with her owner as the central agent for charter for his stunning new vessel."
The charter yacht features accommodation for 12 guests in up to nine cabins. The crew quarters, meanwhile, will accommodate a staff of 40. Other key details include a beam of 17.8 metres, creating "extraordinary volumes" and "sleek and elegant lines", according to the yard.
Standout features include a helipad, beauty salon, spa, sauna, swimming pool, indoor and outdoor cinema, dance floor, gym and elevator. There will also be ample room for a selection of tenders and toys including a sailing dinghy, Sea Bobs, sea scooters and windsurfers.
Kismet was sold by Moran Yacht & Ship in 2019, with the brokerage also managing the build throughout construction, including writing the technical specifications and negotiating the interior costs.
According to BOATPro , Lürssen has 12 yachts currently in build or on order. This includes the 107-metre explorer Project Icecap which, once delivered, will rank in the top 30 Lürssen yachts by size. Kismet first hit the water on August 11 at Rendsburg, following the drydock flooding on 10 August.

Here’s Why Pontiac Never Offered A Big Block V8
12 biggest-displacement four-cylinder engines ever produced, 10 smallest displacement british v8 engines ever in a production car.
This Kismet superyacht measuring 95.2 meters was built by Lurssen in 2014 and is owned by Shahid Khan, a Pakistani-American billionaire and business tycoon who also owns the Fulham Football Club and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Shahid Khan is one of those billionaires whose life story has the potential to become a successful film.
Khan's rags-to-riches story began in Pakistan, where he was born, and took a decisive turn when he immigrated to the United States as a teenager. According to Forbes, the business tycoon, who is now worth more than $8 billion, worked as a dishwasher while attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Years later, he would become the owner of auto parts distributor Flex-N-Gate. Although he is best known today for owning the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and the Fulham football club in the United Kingdom, Khan first rose to prominence as an engineer who created a one-piece truck bumper. He now owns several companies in the entertainment industry and has come a long way since his humble beginnings.
Shahid "Shad" Khan, the self-made American bumper-parts billionaire, is nothing if not daring in his business dealings, which is why he has been able to leverage his NFL team, the Jacksonville Jaguars , into regular guest appearances at London's Wembley Stadium. This summer, he's in intense talks to buy Wembley Stadium from the Football Association of Great Britain, which owns it.
The German Lürssen shipyard began construction of a new superyacht for Khan in 2014, the same year Khan purchased Fulham from Mohamed Al-Fayed. The 312-foot-long (92-meter-long) Kismet combined a majestic exterior by Espen Oeino with the interior of a five-star hotel designed by Reymond Langton Design.

A Breathtaking Overview: A $200 Million Entertainment Superyacht, The Tycoon Shahid Khan’s Kismet
Lürssen, based in Bremen, Germany, is one of those well-known shipyards with a long history. Lürssen is credited with designing the world's first motorboat , which was commissioned by none other than Gottlieb Daimler, who wanted to put his engine to the test. Returning to modern times, Lürssen is best known for delivering the famous Azzam, a 2015 superyacht that set new length and speed records.
The shipyard referred to Kismet as "the ultimate entertainment vessel." It can accommodate 18 guests in eight ultra-luxurious staterooms and 27 crew members. It has zero-speed anchor stabilizers for improved onboard comfort, as well as a top speed of more than 17 knots. "Some elements of the exterior, such as the stainless steel air inlets aft of the funnels, were inspired by the Chicago skyline," Espen told Superyacht World.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z famously chartered Khan's Kismet during the summer of 2018 for around $1.2 million per week. They've since moved on to the $4 million-per-week Flying Fox, while Kismet has continued its journey. Moran Yacht and Ship has it listed for nearly $200 million right now. Perhaps Shahid Khan is ready to upgrade to a larger superyacht, as he did with Kismet, which was a step up from his previous smaller yacht.
However, the Khan boat merits more scrutiny than just the list of its celebrity or near-celebrity passengers. The Kismet exudes a very specific type of built-in opulence, with an exterior designed by Espen Oeino and an interior designed by Reymond Langton – the Bath-based British designer who has realized several notable superyachts.

The Interior Design Of The Tycoon Shahid Khan’s Kismet Is One That Exudes Incredible Grandiose
Kismet was built to be a charter yacht from the beginning, which meant it would be busy not only cruising with its owner, but also chartering for short periods of time or hosting large corporate parties. Its large spaces were created with entertainment in mind. The Kismet has five decks above the waterline and three outdoor lounging areas, the main one of which is located on the fourth deck's aft section and features a pool and hot tub complex.
A cinema, a full-service spa, an indoor/outdoor dining space for twelve that doubles as a bar, and a formal interior dining room with a stair leading to a ballroom space are all available on the premises. One of the dark, lush staterooms is adorned with an oil portrait of a pair of lounging jaguars — get it? The master stateroom's bath has the expected gilt fixtures. The sundeck (which includes a swimming pool and a built-in Jacuzzi) was built with the aft end of the pool serving as a skylight for the lift shaft. A spiral staircase leads to one of the yacht's unique features: a private observation platform with an outdoor bed, ideal for stargazing.
Kismet has two helipads, one of which is located beneath the sundeck and can be configured as an outdoor cinema or a nightclub area. The second can also be used as a mini-basketball court. The owner deck has a formal dining area as well as a private area with a Jacuzzi and sun-pads. The aft on the main deck is one of the most spectacular features, with surprising semicircular seating around a unique, retractable fireplace that doubles as a coffee table.

KISMET yacht interior
Inside the KISMET yacht is just as luxurious as you might expect. The interior was designed by Reymond Langton , an award-winning design company that specializes in luxury yachts.
The owners Pascale Reymond and Andrew Langton have completed a wide range of significant projects since they founded their company in 2001.
Some of the yachts they worked on include AVIVA, TITAN, SERENE, and KAOS.
Based in Bath in the United Kingdom Reymond Langton says of themselves that they prioritize balance, proportion, and emphasis in all of their designs.
KISMET is a prime example of their high-quality work that is tailor-made to every project they uptake.
KISMET yacht is equipped with state-of-the-art luxury amenities such as a spa, movie theatre, a grand piano, large pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and barbecue area.
She was designed in the style of a luxury five-star hotel with a “champagne and caviar theme” including a black marble deck, a full gym, helipads, and an elevator.
Of course, there is high-speed internet available on board allowing guests to be connected wherever they go.
One of the bathtubs is made of solid onyx and there is even a retractable fireplace with an integrated waterfall and a winter garden deck.
The main saloon is constructed at double height and features full-length video walls allowing for incredible movie nights.
This yacht can welcome up to 12 guests in 7 cabins. There is a lavish owner’s suite, a master bedroom, two VIP suites, two standard double rooms as well as two twins.
28 crew members find space in below-deck cabins. The owner’s suite includes walk-in wardrobes, a private jacuzzi, and his and her bathrooms. This yacht is designed for entertaining and events. With several salons and a lot of deck space, she is ideal for hosting lavish parties and celebrations.
The aft deck is directly connected to a sports bar which can even be transformed into a dance floor reminiscent of a luxurious nightclub in the evenings.
High-quality wood, leather, and marble decorate the interior of the vessel with influences of Art Deco design.
This yacht truly achieves its design goal and lets guests feel as though they were staying in a luxurious hotel.
Intricate wall designs and custom-made marble flooring take this yacht to the next level and provide true luxury.
Specifications
KISMET yacht measures a length of 95 meters (311 ft) with a 13.8 meter (45.3 ft) beam and a 3.75 meter (12.4 ft) draft.
Since she barely lies under the 100-meter mark, she is currently considered the 63rd largest motor yacht in the world. Manufactured from steel and aluminum, this yacht is durable and versatile.
Her two propellers are diesel-type 3516C-HD engines with an impressive 5438 horsepower. At a weight of 2928 tons, she can reach cruising speeds of 12 knots and maximum speeds of 17 knots under ideal conditions.
Her fuel tanks allow her to have a range of up to 6000 nautical miles, which is considerable for her size.
The beautiful exterior of KISMET was designed by Espen Oeino, a renowned name in the world of superyachts.
Forbes has described him as the “superhero of superyacht design” in the past. His studio is based in Monaco, although he is originally from Norway.
She is one of his most famous projects and played a significant role in his career as a naval architect and designer. She features a large pool with mosaic tiles and an adjacent jacuzzi on the upper foredeck.
This area of the vessel provides breathtaking views over the ocean and nearby scenery. Even further up, there is a separate observation deck perfect for taking photos or watching the sunset. The large helipad on the bow can also be used as a small basketball court allowing for an unforgettable match. There is a secondary helipad on the bridge deck that can be used for sun lounging.
Underwater lighting and modern stabilizers are additional features that the KISMET yacht provides. This vessel was designed with eco-friendliness in mind despite its high energy usage.
KISMET features a so-called “closed-loop system” that heats the pool and jacuzzi using energy from the engines. This system is incredibly efficient and sets her apart from other vessels in her size range.
The bowsprit is decorated with a four-foot jaguar statue that ties the exceptionally luxurious and unique design together.
It symbolizes the NFL team Jackson Jaguars which belongs to the current owner of KISMET.
Toys and equipment
As a charter yacht, the KISMET yacht is equipped with an array of toys to entertain those onboard.
Several jet skis, scuba diving, and snorkeling equipment, as well as four tenders, are always at disposal of the guests.
She also provides towable water toys, which are consistently among her most popular during the charter.
KISMET is far from a standard yacht. She has actually been featured in the Netflix film 6 Underground starring Ryan Reynolds.
On past charters, the yacht has welcomed A-list celebrities such as Beyonce and Jay-Z making her one of the most popular charter yachts in the world.
Of course, this popularity isn’t unwarranted. The KISMET yacht provides her guests with incredible luxuries and leaves nothing to be desired.
This comes at the steep price of US $1.2 Million per week for charters, which doesn’t include provisions and docking fees.

After building a car parts empire in the States, he is now a billionaire and among the world's richest men.
