Simpson Marine records best sales year

Asia’s biggest yacht dealership reveals the figures that made 2021 its best year to date and highlights exciting deliveries in 2022.

Simpson Marine has about 125 staff

Simpson Marine has announced its record sales year to date, with 135 new and pre-owned yachts sold in 2021. The figure represents a 20 per cent increase on 2020, the previous best year for the company that was founded in 1984 by Mike Simpson, who still leads Asia’s biggest yacht services company as Managing Director.

Beneteau Grand Trawler 62 will arrive in Hong Kong

“ Simpson Marine’s mission has always been to bring people closer to the ocean and help them enjoy the freedom of life at sea,” Simpson said. “ It’s heartening to see many first-time boat owners being welcomed into the yachting fold during 2020 and 2021.”

Hong Kong, Asia’s leading yacht hub and home to Simpson Marine’s headquarters, has remained the liveliest market for the company, while Singapore was among its other leading hubs.

Sanlorenzo 52Steel was sold in Southeast Asia

Among its six yacht brands, Sanlorenzo was particularly successful last year. Sales included two units of the SD118 soon after the model’s premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival and the yachts are among scheduled deliveries in Asia in 2022. Simpson Marine’s sales also included a 52Steel, which is the biggest Sanlorenzo sold by the dealer to date and due to launch this summer.

Bluegame BGX70 will arrive in Singapore

Bluegame sales increased, while arrivals in Asia in 2022 include a BGX70 into Singapore in January and a BGX60 toward the end of the year.

Beneteau sales included Antares and Flyer outboard models, while upcoming arrivals include the new flagship Grand Trawler 62 and the Oceanis Yacht 62, the brand’s biggest sailing yacht.

In Thailand, the Simpson Marine Sailing Centre was launched in collaboration with a prominent Thai investor and yachting enthusiast. With fi ve Beneteau First 14s, two First 18s and a First 27 arriving in Pattaya, training instructors are preparing the first courses to start in spring.

Lagoon Seventy 8 will head to Hong Kong

Lagoon sales included many units from 40-50ft while a Sixty 7 powercat is on order for Hong Kong and will be the second in the region, following the delivery of a unit to Taiwan. A Lagoon 55, a model launched last year, and a flagship Seventy 8 motor yacht are set to arrive in Hong Kong in 2022.

The upgraded Fairline Squadron 68 will arrive in Asia

Fairline Squadron 50 and 53 units have been commissioned, while the first Targa 45 in China arrived in Shanghai in late 2021. The new version of the flagship Squadron 68 will soon arrive in Hong Kong, while the British builder is expected to launch two new models, Squadron 55 and Phantom 65, later this year.

Aquila 70 Luxury was sold to Indonesia

Aquila deliveries in 2022 will include a 54 Yacht to Pattaya and the flagship 70 Luxury to Indonesia, while Asia’s first 28 Molokai was sold in Malaysia after showings in Port Dickson and Penang in December.

As well as new and pre-owned yacht sales, Simpson Marine also recorded growth in charter, yacht management and services. Simpson Yacht Charter  registered a company-record 1,500 charter days including 900 day charters and 40 overnight charters in Hong Kong in 2021, while Phuket and Pattaya accounted for 500 days in Thailand.

A Sanlorenzo SL78 was among charter additions

Simpson Yacht Management  welcomed several new yachts into the fleet in 2021 including eight new Sanlorenzo yachts in Hong Kong .  The Simpson Yacht Care division, which was originally created for absentee boat owners in Thailand and expanded into Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, is busier than ever before, with 50 yachts under care by the end of 2021. www.simpsonmarine.com www.simpsonyachtcharter.com

We meet you wherever the yacht is to perform the sea-trial and make sure the yacht’s performance meets your needs.

We line up surveys and haul-out, and then advise you on the results.

Timmerman Yachts is a Russian builder of quality luxury motor yachts. Based in Moscow, it is owned by a group of Dutch and Russian investors and operates out of Moscow Shipyard. Several noted naval architecture and yacht design firms are involved with Timmerman, including Vripack, Guido de Groot Design, Ginton Naval Architects, Jon Bannenberg Ltd., and Francis Design Ltd.

Founded in 2003, the company was named for 17th century Dutch boat builder Franz Timmerman who brought Dutch boat manufacturing techniques to Russia and co-founded the Russian navy. Timmerman Yachts has more than 1,000 employees working at the Moscow Shipyard.

Timmerman has delivered a number of semi-custom luxury yachts between 26-47 metres in length, including TM26 and Timmerman FD-51, designed by Francis Design Ltd. Other notable Timmerman yachts include Victoria M, Alexandra (now Latitude) and Olsten 125′.

One of the 10 largest yacht builders in the world, Timmerman is focused on building high-quality luxury yachts at more competitive prices. Its Russian-Dutch partnership provides great yacht-building capabilities. Timmerman builds yacht to the highest standards and holds DNV, MCA and Russian River Register certification.
