Crew’s Cup Lounge at Disney’s Yacht Club

If you’re looking for a hole-in-the-wall hidden gem at Walt Disney World, look no further than Crew’s Cup Lounge. Crew’s Cup is the formal lounge for Yachtsman Steakhouse, the signature dining location at Disney’s Yacht Club.

The lounge sits adjacent to Yachtsman Steakhouse in a long hall off the Yacht Club’s lobby. It’s the last stop for the Yacht Club before reaching the Beach Club side of the resort.

During our recent stay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, we stopped at Crew’s Cup for a bite to eat. You may remember we stayed at the resort primarily so we could walk to Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios.

Crew's Cup Lounge

Crew’s Cup Lounge is open daily from 4:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. However, they only serve food between 5:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

So if you arrive before 5:00 p.m. and see the door open, you can help yourself to a seat and enjoy the lounge’s bar service. Crew’s Cup shares a kitchen with Yachtsman, so they don’t offer any food until the restaurant opens.

A menu is posted outside the lounge. We’ve eaten at Crew’s Cup many times. However, their menu has been significantly reduced in recent years.

Since I walk through the resorts at least once a month, I always stop to see if Crew’s Cup menu has changed. So I was delighted to see more options.

Here is a list of the menu items for Crew’s Cup Lounge on our visit:

  • Yachtsman Signature Bread
  • Caesar Salad
  • Steakhouse Wedge Salad
  • Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail
  • Charcuterie and Cheese Board
  • Lobster Bisque
  • Truffle Fries
  • Braised Beef Tips
  • Roasted Prime Rib
  • Dry-Aged Duroc Pork Chop

Unfortunately, the prime rib sliders haven’t returned. But our server said that guests request them all the time. So maybe we’ll see them again in the future.

In the past, we’ve had the Yachtsman signature bread. These are pull-apart style onion rolls that come with roasted garlic. They are amazing.

I’ve also stopped in for the Caesar salad on more than one occasion. However, for this visit, we decided to go with the Charcuterie and Cheese Board.

yacht club disney lounge

On the far right-hand side of the board, we have duck pastrami. It’s hard to describe how delicious this cured duck meat tasted. It was the first item to disappear.

Other items on the board included: Calabrese salami, dried apricots, crostini, crackers, goat cheese, brie, Point Reyes blue cheese, honeycomb, mustard, radishes, and a cherry mostarda.

Overall, this board felt like an excellent value for the amount of food we received. Unfortunately, we couldn’t finish the cheese selections or the dried apricots. No worries, I had them for a snack later that night.

Sadly, this was the only item we tried this evening. However, I feel sure we’ll be back soon to try a few more things.

Also, I couldn’t help but take the opportunity to share this hidden gem with you. Crew’s Cup Lounge is an excellent option if you don’t have a dining reservation but would prefer something more elevated than counter service.

From our experience, the food and service have always been top-notch. So I hope you’ll have the opportunity to stop for an appetizer or an entire meal during your next visit.

Crew’s Cup Lounge encapsulates the essence of a New England-style yacht club. The moment you step inside, you will be greeted by a charming ambiance reminiscent of a vintage boating club, complete with nautical decor, warm wood finishes, and brass accents. The dimmed lighting and comfortable seating create an inviting atmosphere for guests to unwind after a day of adventure at the parks.

The real star of the show at Crew’s Cup Lounge is the food. While it may be labeled as a lounge, the menu goes beyond traditional bar fare.

Guests can start their culinary journey with appetizers like the Truffle Fries or Lobster Bisque. For the main course, options range from a hearty 14-oz Roasted Prime Rib to a lighter Steakhouse Wedge Salad.

In terms of beverages, the lounge boasts an extensive list of wines, beers, and specialty cocktails. After-dinner flights are available for both Bourbon or Scotch, offering a taste of 3 different brands each.

Crew’s Cup Lounge Review

crews-cup-lounge-burger-disney-world

Crew’s Cup Lounge is a bar & restaurant at Walt Disney World’s Yacht Club Resort. In addition to drinks, the lounge features a menu consisting of table service quality food at (roughly) counter service prices. In terms of money-saving info, it does not participate in the Disney Dining Plan , but does accept the Tables in Wonderland card for a 20% discount . Not accepting the Dining Plan might explain why the food is so good and why Crew’s Cup Lounge is one of the best values at Walt Disney World.

Part of the quality of the food at Crew’s Cup Lounge can also be attributed to its proximity to the excellent Yachtsman Steakhouse. They are right next to one another, and if you’re lucky, you can get a table at Crew’s Cup that looks into the butcher’s locker; if he’s performing, this is basically like a free Cirque du Soleil show (except better). Now, I’m not suggesting that the food here improves by osmosis or by virtue of simply by nearer glorious steaks…but I’m not ruling it out of question, either. Rather, it’s because the two locations share a kitchen.

That means that the menu items here are basically raised by those steaks. (In my head I picture a cartoon steak, let’s call him “Prof. Elder Steaksman” training a younger, “Baby Bruno Burger” character. Yeah, I’m crazy.) Well, maybe not raised by, but prepared by the same skilled kitchen team. More importantly, it means that the same quality of ingredients are likely shared between both locations, which elevates the quality of the food at Crew’s Cup Lounge above what you’d find at a lot of other lounges at Walt Disney World.

You probably don’t need any additional reasons to spend every meal of your Walt Disney World vacation at Crew’s Cup Lounge, but just in case you need them, I have plenty of other reasons…

crews-cup-lounge-entrance-yacht-club-disney-world

We’ll start with the decor and ambiance. The lounge is located in a nondescript location in a hallway basically halfway between the Yacht & Beach Clubs. There are no flashing neon signs advertising “AMAZING BURGERS INSIDE” or anything of the sort, and if you head here for lunch on a weekday, you’re likely to find the place mostly empty.

crews-cup-lounge-yacht-club-interior

The inside of the restaurant is nice, and exactly what I’d expect from the Yacht Club. It has an abundance of masculine woods, and reminds me of a quiet place Teddy Roosevelt would come for some whisky after a long day of sculling . Even if you don’t get down with rowing, it’s the kind of place I’d recommend anyone go for a breather from World Showcase or Disney’s Hollywood Studios on a hot, humid day (or during the 1-Day No Parks Itinerary ).

We didn’t drink here on our recent visits, but have in the past and didn’t really weren’t overwhelmed by the options. I looked at the drink list this time, and I didn’t notice anything outside of the Generic Disney Parks options, but perhaps there’s something good on tap(?)

roasted-beet-salad-crews-cup-lounge

As for the food, we’ll start with the supporting players. During our lunch meal at Crew’s Cup Lounge, Sarah had the Roasted Beet Salad. Ever since her long summer working the fields of Schrute Farms, she has had a thing for beets. Personally, seeing “beets” on any menu sends me quickly looking in the other direction, but I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted this salad. The lettuce and other ingredients were varied and higher quality than your garden variety iceberg lettuce. Quality greens, plus granola, strawberries, honeyed goat cheese, and beets all for only $8!

caprese-sandwich-crews-cup-lounge-yacht-club

When we returned for dinner, Sarah had the Tomato and Mozzarella Sandwich. This was another light meal–well, at least the sandwich was light. Sarah balanced that out with a side of the truffle fries (which we’ll discuss later in the review). The Arugula Vinaigrette on Toasted Sea Salt Focaccia helped bring out the flavors of the tomatoes and mozzarella, both of which were moist and fresh, and mildly acidic kick to the sandwich.

crews-cup-lounge-angus-burger

Now, let’s talk about the star of the menu at Crew’s Cup Lounge: the Angus Chuck Cheeseburger. When I posted my “ (Some of) the Best Burgers at Walt Disney World ” post, I was admonished by a few readers who took issue with this burger’s absence from the list. In fact, this is why we visited Crew’s Cup Lounge in the first place.

angus-burger-crews-cup-lounge-walt-disney-world

When we actually got there and I looked at the menu, I had a feeling of “that’s it?” Whereas many Walt Disney World restaurants build up even the most unimpressive burgers with the burger equivalent of a cheap 3D trick, the description here was humble–too humble. It sounded like an ordinary burger that you might find on the menu at Cosmic Ray’s or Liberty Inn. At $13.99, its price is actually lower than the Liberty Inn burger, so I was doubly suspicious.

Although it was highly recommended by two people whose opinions on food I trust, I was more than a little skeptical. Maybe the menu had changed since they were last here? Fortunately, our server was not so humble. When I pressed her for more information about the burger, she quickly proclaimed it the “best burger at Walt Disney World.” Okay, that settled it.

crews-cup-lounge-burger-truffle-fries

Now, I’m going to have to do a lot more field testing and retesting (burger rating is both a science and an art) before I declare this Walt Disney World’s burger champion, but it far exceeded my expectations. All of the ingredients were top notch: the toppings fresh, the bun with a light and buttery taste, and the burger itself perfectly cooked, exceptionally juicy (just look at the bottom bun absorbing those juices two photos up–if that doesn’t bring tears of joy to your taste buds, you’re crazy), and just on the hearty side of the intersection between lean and hearty.

The menu gives you the option for having it with a side of grapes (LOLOLOL) or normal fries, but you’ll want to request the double-secret third option: truffle fries. More on these fries below, but suffice to say, the combo of these burgers and fries for $14 makes this an exceptional value by Walt Disney World standards. Heck, I’d gladly pay that price for this meal anywhere. It’s both cheaper and better than the burger at nearby Beaches & Cream, without all of the hassle of that popular spot.

truffle-fries-crews-cup-lounge

As for those House-cut Truffle Fries with Roasted Shallot Mayonnaise, they are another of the menu’s stars. Truffles make anything better, but that plus the creamy, mild onion flavor of the sauce made these fries criminally good. If I were a potato, I would want my legacy to be becoming these fries, meeting my end by heroically diving into a pool of that magnificent sauce.

crews-cup-lounge-truffle-fries-disney-world

In addition to getting them as a side to any entree, the Truffle Fries can be ordered by themselves as an appetizer. For $5.50 (I’m normally hesitant to put so many prices in reviews, as Walt Disney World has a tendency to raise them annually…if you’re reading this in 2016 or 2017, assume everything is $1-3 higher), they are another great value.

Our first time ordering these fries, we got the full appetizer size, and then I ordered them with my burger as a side. Both sets were perfectly seasoned and out of this world. On our second visit, the fries were still excellent, but the seasoning was a bit heavy-handed, and it felt like this was to mask inferior fries. I’d still highly recommend that second set, but they definitely weren’t as good as the first go-round.

Overall, I recommend Crew’s Cup Lounge with absolutely no hesitations. We visited this place twice on our recent trip, which alone is rare for us, and I ordered the exact same meal each time, which is unprecedented since I usually mix things up for the purpose of these reviews. That should speak volumes about how good that meal is, and these visits demonstrated that Crew’s Cup belongs on our Top 10 Bars & Lounges list . The atmosphere is family-friendly at least until the late evening hours when the sailors come into port, so you really can’t go wrong with lunch here, no matter who you are. One thing to note about dinner is that many of the inexpensive options that intrigued me most (outside of the burger) are replaced by significantly more expensive choices. The burger and several options remain for both meals, so that’s great, but if you’re looking for a variety of choices at counter service prices, lunch would be my recommendation.

Hi Tom and Sarah, Staying at Yacht Club now and noticed the Crews Cup menu has changed, no burger, in case you haven’t already seen. Since we wanted a burger we grabbed one at Hurricane Hannahs. It was really good! Better than in the past. Well seasoned, juicy, and on a fresh bun. Thanks for all you do! Debbie

' src=

In 4 years the burger went from $13.99 to a ridiculous $20. How is that price rise justified?

Also, the cheaper items all removed for dinner. New prices for anyone expecting a good value meal: Chicken- $34, Captains Platter- $38, Skirt Steak (a cheap cut of meat) $34 etc.

They basically decided to gouge everyone and charge Signature prices. Good job Disney.

' src=

Just finished a stay at Beach Club and after a excellent burger at Crew Cup last September a return trip was high on our list but Crew cup is now high on our list of places not to eat. I was suspicious when I saw the description for the burger no longer mentioned what it was made from and should have immediately looked elsewhere on the menu. The burger was a double patty that would embarrass Wendy’s to serve. There was enough salt on it to melt a polar ice cap which still could not mask it’s utter lack of taste. We did enjoy the beer we had and the atmosphere remains pleasant but it was disappointing enough that we elected not to try Yachtsman on this trip either.

' src=

The prime rib sliders with fries were good ($16) the hamburger was AWFUL it was a dried out over cooked piece of ground beef. We were so disappointed. We had heard rave reviews of their burger. Gag. It only comes well (over cooked) done. the presentation was nice the flavor was not.

' src=

Hey Tom how would I be able to become a writer for Disney Lists, Disney Fanatic websites?

' src=

I hate to be the one to give unfortunate news but I went to Crew Cup last week and they no longer serve burgers. The cast member said they were just recently removed as part of a menu overhaul. I was dismayed as I was looking forward to trying it for the first time.

' src=

Reading this in 2017… the prices are up $4 rather than the predicted $1-3. 😀

And the burger looks to have been changed. Mushrooms! Boo!

' src=

We ate here on our first night in April. The Truffle fries are A. MAZE. ING. Maybe we were there on a fluke night but our burgers were mediocre at best. But, since i will absolutely go back for those fries, i’ll give the burger another shot to redeem itself…

' src=

Might seem like a silly question but are kids allowed there? When I take my nephews in December we’re staying at Beach Club. This sounds like a place they will like just for the burger.

' src=

Great review. I’m also a huge fan of Crew’s Cup. Regarding the drink selections, Crew’s Cup does have Sam Adams and whatever the current “mainstream” Sam Adams seasonal is on tap. In terms of beer on tap, that alone probably puts it in the top 15% of WDW resort lounges. Granted, that probably says more about the overall depth and quality of tap beer selections at WDW resort lounges than it does about Crew’s Cup, but worth noting.

' src=

Ha, when having a couple Sam Adams selections on tap puts a lounge into the top 15%, that really speaks to the quality (or lack thereof) of beer selection at Walt Disney World. It does seem things are improving, though.

' src=

I can’t speak to the quality of the burgers, Tom. But I can speak to the general quality and wonderfulness of the location. I haven’t been in a few years, but in the past you could also order steaks off the Yachtsman menu. A great way to enjoy without dealing with WDW’s absurd CC deposits/make ressies six months in advance Guest-unfriendly system.

At one point, they even had a smaller steak (at a considerably lower price point) on the menu, but I haven’t checked recently. But the food and drinks have always been quite good, the service excellent and the ambiance generally quiet and, often, blissfully free of children (as should be the case in bars — sorry bad parents reading!)

Another secret for a great Yachtsman steak is to have dinner at the Captain’s Grille next door (for years the Yacht Club Galley) as they serve steak from the same kitchen and, again, for much lower prices with the same high quality.

As for best burgers at WDW, you might want to try Fulton’s (although it is closing for six months soon and there’s conflicting info on whether it will be refreshed or an entirely new concept from Levy’s) as I’ve always thought their burger was the best at WDW (yep, at a seafood place that most fans turn their noses up because it isn’t owned or operated by Disney). The burgers at the Dolphin Fountain are also excellent. Again, never got why people were waiting 90 minutes to get mediocre burgers at Beaches and Cream instead of walking over to the Dolphin, but Pixie Dust is powerful.

' src=

Tom – I think you need to start a new blog “Tom’s Burger Blog” (TM, you can send me royalty checks 🙂 ). This post would be perfect there with so much raving about the burger. You already have lots of other content from other Disney restaurants and you have also talked about your love of burgers at non-Disney locations so much as well, I think, at Travel Caffeine. You will have a great home for all of those posts and another reason to travel everywhere.

' src=

Great review. We ate here in April and really enjoyed it. Steaks were good, service too. Beer list included St Bernardus ABT 12 (one of my favorites) as well as a few others.

' src=

Jeez, I’d like to try those frys, but I think they would give me gas. Do they got the Old Style beer there?

' src=

Nice “Schrute Farms” reference. I hope that Mose didn’t bother Sarah too much while she was working there.

' src=

Whereas you posit that truffles make anything taste “better”, I think that they can make anything taste like dirt. But I have to agree that the Crew’s Cup’s truffle fries are an outstanding appetizer. They actually manage to impart the pleasantly earthy flavor that truffles are supposed to bring to a dish but usually fail to do for me. And the shallot mayonnaise is about the best french fry supplement this side of Pecos Bill’s molten cheese (RIP).

Crew’s cup lounge.

Posted by: Ryan January 14, 2013

yacht club disney lounge

Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort wraps guests in the delightful charm of a New England-style Yacht club, hoisting the main sail on relaxation and allowing all your cares to float out into Stormalong Bay. With a scenic view of Disney’s Boardwalk Resort across the lake and a sandy beach escape from which you can gaze up at the night sky as fireworks splash overhead, the Yacht and Beach Club is the perfect slice of Disney magic for those who long for all things waterfront.

But while the pools and beaches are all good and well, there is one sunken treasure that will have you rowing back for more, and that is Crew’s Cup Lounge. A hide out for parents and a haven for adults who long for a quaint alcove of relaxation, Crew’s Cup Lounge is a full service restaurant disguised as a hole-in-the-wall bar, with a single door and conservative signage apart from the entrance through Yachtsman Steakhouse. It takes some finding, but you’ll be glad you took the time to do so.

When we first heard the name, our thought was of a sailing ship or a pirate crew, but this idea didn’t fit well with the elegant nature of the resort. Instead, it referred to a rowing crew, a theme that is very prevalent throughout the small restaurant, with a long decorative rowing boat hanging above the main seating area and various other tributes along the walls and ceiling. It certainly felt as though we were the crew, dining in a homey tavern, while the captain dined next door at the upscale steakhouse.

Taking us through both the drink and food menus, our server Nicole was more than a server. She became part of our crew, helping us make decisions on what would best suit our tired bellies. First came the drinks, a flight of Samuel Adams beers that are rarely sold anywhere else on Disney property. The Boston Lager was clear and smooth, expectedly familiar with a finer taste than most commercial beers. The Alpine Springs was a seasonal, German-style lager with a hint of citrus and a deliciously light bitterness. And finally, the White Water IPA was as good as any IPA, with a bitter hoppiness and a slight peachy flavor in the after taste. In the end, the flight was well worth the $6 it cost, and was a fantastic step into the Crew’s Cup drink menu.

We followed our first drink with an order of House-Cut Truffle Fries with roasted shallot mayonnaise, and yes, it WAS as good as it sounds. Topped with parmesan cheese, these fries soaked in smooth truffle oil and dipped in savory mayo are NOT to be missed. As we sat awaiting the next course of our meal, we wondered how the crew behind the counter could top the truffle fries, but they nearly did it. Buttermilk Fried Rock Shrimp. Take a minute to compose your taste buds. Yes, Buttermilk Fried Rock Shrimp with chipotle remoulade, citrus cream, and chilled cucumber salad. Now, Disney chefs love their remoulades, but how many pair it with cucumber salad and rock shrimp? The answer is “only the best chefs.” If the thought of the foods themselves are not enough to get your mouth watering, imagine crunchy, lemon-seasoned shrimp, cooked to perfection, topped with sweet cucumber and onion, and dipped in chipotle remoulade.

Well, luckily and surprisingly, we saved room for dessert, because it came in the form of a featured drink called a Tennessee Honey. This is another drink fairly uncommon among most other Disney establishments, because it contains Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey whiskey, which many bars don’t have. The Crew’s Cup Lounge DOES have it, and they mix it with agave nectar, freshly squeezed lemon, and Sprite for a drink that rivals the sweetness of poolside drinks, and yet, still has a smooth whiskey taste. It’s the perfect concoction for dads who just need a break from wild vacation fun.

In case you haven’t come to this conclusion already, Crew’s Cup Lounge is the perfect hideaway, the perfect retreat, and the perfect place to eat. When the kids hit the hay, this is where you need to make your getaway.

What’s it like inside?

Located off the Yacht Club lobby, Ale & Compass is designed to look like you're dining inside a ship. The windows that run along the length of the room look like ship's portholes. Nautical paintings and memorabilia are on the walls. The plates and cutlery are designed to look rustic, too.

What are the specialties?

We hesitate to call anything here a 'house specialty', but you'll find lots of seafood on the dinner menu.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Review (Is it worth it?)

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is one of the most beautiful and convenient hotels in all of Walt Disney World. With its classy design, enormous pool, and prime location, it’s easy to see why the Yacht Club at Disney World is such a highly sought after place to stay.

My family and I have visited numerous hotels on Disney property, but the Yacht Club always keeps us coming back for more. We love the close proximity to Disney’s Boardwalk, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.

The multiple transportation options are a huge plus, especially for those who don’t like to solely rely on Disney buses. And of course we have to mention the Yacht Club’s pool, Stormalong Bay. This elaborate resort swimming area is arguably the best pool at the Walt Disney World Resort!

If you’re still not quite sold on the Yacht Club at Disney World or if you would like more information, continue reading below. In this post, we will cover everything you need to know about this deluxe Disney resort , including the activities, restaurants, and rooms available at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

(This post may contain affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of these links, I may receive a small compensation at no extra cost to you. Please see my disclosure policy at the bottom of this page for more details.)

Yacht Club Restaurants

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is full of all different types of restaurants. Since this hotel shares dining options with its sister resorts, you’ll find even more places to eat within a short walk of your room.

blue walls and club chairs with sign reading Ale and Compass Lounge

These are the Yacht Club restaurants you will find just a short stroll away:

  • Ale and Compass – sit-down restaurant in the Yacht Club that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner (also available to-go)
  • The Market at Ale and Compass – quick service restaurant at Yacht Club with to-go items and menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Yachtsman Steakhouse – fine dining restaurant at the Yacht Club that is open for dinner
  • Crew’s Cup Lounge – bar at the Yacht Club that features a small dinner menu and full bar
  • Cape May Cafe – offers a character meal breakfast buffet and sit-down dinner with no characters
  • Beach Club Marketplace – features to-go items and menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Beaches and Cream – available for lunch and dinner with reservations highly recommended
  • Martha’s Vineyard – offers appetizers and full bar
  • Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill – pool restaurant with full bar and lunch/dinner options

Furthermore, the Yacht Club is located just a short walk away from Disney’s Boardwalk , where you’ll find additional restaurants and bars.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is home to the most popular pool on Disney property. It’s such a hit that you’ll find cast members handing out wristbands at the entrance so that only hotel guests can enter.

pirate ship water slide

The main pool, Stormalong Bay, features a large sand bottom swimming area that’s super shallow and great for toddlers and little kids. There’s also a lazy river that’s a fan favorite in my household.

Guests can also enjoy other large swimming areas at Stormalong Bay, including an activities section where you’ll find games like pool volleyball. Stormalong Bay offers a large waterslide as well as a smaller slide that empties into a shallow pool.

empty pool and clubhouse at Yacht Club

In addition to Stormalong Bay, the Yacht Club in Disney World features a “quiet” pool that is seldom busy. This is a great spot to relax or swim laps.

Rooms

My family and I love the nautical decor and ambience of the Yacht Club guest rooms. Additionally, we appreciate that the rooms offer full balconies. In our post on Disney’s Beach Club vs Yacht Club , you’ll read about why these balconies are a major pro for Yacht Club compared to its sister resort.

toilet room, shower, and vanity and Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Disney’s Yacht Club features standard rooms and club level rooms. If you book a room with Club Level benefits, you get access to the Regatta Club. Here, you’ll find food and beverages offered at certain times throughout the day.

2 Queen beds and day bed at Yacht Club

Guest rooms at the Yacht Club come with views of the lake, pool, garden, or hotel rooftop/parking lot. These rooms typically feature 1 king bed or 2 queens. Some of them also offer a daybed. This means that if you book a room with 2 queens plus a daybed, you can sleep a family of five!

Prices at Yacht Club

Since Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is classified as a deluxe hotel at Disney World, you’ll notice that the prices are higher than at some of the other hotels. This is because the Yacht Club offers deluxe room space, extra amenities, and a prime location.

We will explain all the significance of all of these perks in more detail below, but it’s important to note that Disney’s Yacht Club truly offers a deluxe experience. The updated guest rooms feature plenty of space, including private balconies. Plus, the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of other Disney hotels, restaurants, theme parks, and more.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

If you would really like to experience the location, amenities, and entertainment at the Yacht Club without the hefty price tag, we suggest booking a room at the sister hotel through David’s Vacation Club Rentals. You will be blown away by the cost savings on David’s DVC rental site! We usually save hundreds of dollars per night by using this method to book a room at a deluxe resort.

Just use the cost calculator to see exactly how much a room costs at Yacht Club’s sister resort, Disney’s Beach Club Villas. These villas are located just a short walk away from the Yacht Club hotel, and they both share restaurants, pools, and activities. While you can reserve one of the villas on the official Disney website, we prefer to book through David’s DVC rental website . We have used this reputable company for years to rent timeshare points at Disney villas.

Things to Do at Disney’s Yacht Club

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort sits on the same property as two sister resorts: Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Villas. These three hotels share restaurants, activities, amenities, and entertainment options with each other.

One of my family’s favorite things about the Yacht Club is that you don’t need to leave the property to have fun. So, if you’re looking for activities at Disney outside of the theme parks, the Yacht Club offers lots of great options. These are our favorite things to do at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort when enjoying a relaxing day at Disney:

See Epcot Fireworks

We recommend walking to the bridge that connects the Disney Boardwalk to the Yacht and Beach Club Resort to enjoy the nightly Epcot fireworks show. You can even grab some ice cream to enjoy during the presentation.

Take a Ride on the Skyliner

Since the Disney Skyliner sits just outside of Epcot’s International Gateway entrance, you can easily access it from the Yacht Club Resort. Just take the short (less than ten minutes) walk toward Epcot and hop on the Skyliner for free!

Book a fishing excursion on Crescent Lake for a truly unique experience while staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

Eat Ice Cream

Disney’s Yacht Club is home to one of our favorite WDW restaurants, Beaches and Cream . While reservations can be difficult to snag at this popular dining spot, you can access the walk-up window to order shakes and ice cream to-go.

Dine with Characters

Check out Cape May Cafe during breakfast/brunch when it becomes Minnie’s Beach Bash. Guests can meet Goofy, Minnie, and Donald while they dine at the breakfast buffet.

Float along the Lazy River

The Beach Club’s main pool, Stormalong Bay, offers many fun features. One of our favorite things to do at the pool is to grab (free) tubes to float along the lazy river.

Play Games in the Arcade

Lafferty Place Arcade offers lots of fun games for kids and adults to enjoy. This is a particularly great place to spend time at Disney World when it’s raining.

Ride the Friendship Boats

The Disney water taxi picks up visitors near the Yacht Club. You can ride this free boat to the Disney Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin Resorts, Epcot entrance, and Hollywood Studios entrance.

Build Sandcastles

Did you know that Stormalong Bay features a shallow, sand bottom pool and beach area? Kids love digging in the sand and splashing around in this section of the pool.

Make S’mores

Visit the nightly campfire to roast marshmallows during your visit. You can even purchase S’mores Kits for a few dollars.

Rent a Boat

Spend time on Crescent Lake on your own private pontoon boat. Guests can rent boats from the marina near the Yacht Club.

Disney’s Yacht Club offers a large fitness center for guests to use during their stay. Ship Shape Health Club is even open 24 hours a day, so you can squeeze in a workout at any time.

Stroll along the Disney Boardwalk

The Disney Boardwalk is full of amazing activities and entertainment options and is just a short walk away from the Yacht Club.

Play Volleyball

As you walk along the boardwalk in front of the Beach Club, you’ll notice a sand volleyball court. This is a great spot to pick up a game with friends or family. You can also often join a game of volleyball at Stormalong Bay Pool.

Enjoy an Evening Movie

Each evening, Disney Yacht Club guests can watch a movie under the stars. These family friendly movies are a great way to unwind after a long day.

Play Mini Golf

Stroll over to Fantasia Gardens and Miniature Golf Course where you’ll find two 18-hole courses. This fun spot is located near the Dolphin and Swan Resorts.

Swim Some Laps

If you’re looking for a quieter poolside experience to swim laps or relax, check out the leisure pool at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. You’ll also have access to the quiet pools at Beach Club and Beach Club Villas.

If you’re not into running or jogging on vacation, you can spend time strolling along the jogging paths at the Yacht Club. You’ll find lots of great spots to take pictures and may even catch some surprises along the way.

Join a Kid Friendly Party at the Pool

Each afternoon, Stormalong Bay hosts fun poolside activities like hula hoop competitions and limbo.

Play Tennis

Guests can find tennis courts near the Yacht Club’s quiet pool.

Zoom Down Waterslides

Stormalong Bay features two separate water slides for guests to enjoy. The main waterslide stretches from the pirate ship and across the Beach Club boardwalk to the main pool.

You’ll also find a smaller slide that’s perfect for toddlers and small kids at the entrance to the main water slide.

Book a Fireworks Cruise

Take in the sights and sounds of the Epcot fireworks show from your pontoon boat on Crescent Lake.

Transportation

As mentioned above, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort sits in a prime location in the center of all the magic at WDW. If you’re planning to visit one of the theme parks, you’ll be happy to know that several of them are just a super short walk or ride away.

hotel lobby with seating areas

These are our preferred ways to get from Disney’s Yacht Club to other places in Walt Disney World:

  • To Magic Kingdom – You can access the Disney buses in front of the hotel. The ride to Magic Kingdom should take 15-20 minutes.
  • To Epcot – Exit the back of Yacht Club (toward Crescent Lake) and turn left. Epcot sits just under a ten minute walk away!
  • To Hollywood Studios – You have several options for getting to Hollywood Studios. We find the quickest option *usually* is walking. Hollywood Studios sits just a 15 minute walk away from the Yacht Club. You can also ride a Friendship Boat to Hollywood Studios. However, by the time you wait on the boat to make stops, this method can take longer than walking. You could also walk toward Epcot to catch the Disney Skyliner. With this method, you should be able to reach Hollywood Studios in around 25 minutes.
  • To Animal Kingdom – You can hop on one of the Disney buses to get to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This is roughly a ten-minute ride.
  • To Disney’s Boardwalk – You can make the five-minute walk around Crescent Lake to easily reach the Disney Boardwalk. Guests can also take the Friendship Boat from the Yacht Club lighthouse and ride across the lake to the Boardwalk.
  • To Disney Springs – You can take a bus to Disney Springs, which typically takes 15-20 minutes.

Is Disney’s Yacht Club Worth It?

Since Disney’s Yacht Club may be my personal favorite resort in all of WDW , I would definitely say it’s worth the cost! I love the classy guest rooms and bathrooms with their nautical decor.

The lobby seems to be quieter and calmer than that at other resorts, and the cast members are super friendly and helpful. My family and I enjoy the food at all the restaurants on site, and we appreciate the ability to easily walk from the Yacht Club to the Beach Club’s dining options.

pin for Disney's Yacht Club Resort

The close proximity to Epcot makes the Yacht Club an ideal place to stay since there’s no rush to get to the park in the morning or back “home” at the end of a long day. Plus, you enter and exit through the International Gateway entrance to Epcot (near World Showcase), so the lines to enter are basically nonexistent.

Additionally, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is just a short walk, boat ride, or Skyliner ride away. And if you feel like venturing out, you can take the scenic stroll around Crescent Lake to the Disney Boardwalk.

Checking in to The Yacht Club At Disney

Checking into the Yacht Club is extremely easy, and it doesn’t even require you to visit the front desk! The day of your reservation, you can check in to the resort from the My Disney Experience app . The app will let you know when your room is ready and what your room number will be! If you have magic bands or even your phone , you can head straight to your room and unlock the door.

Of course, you can always go the old school route and check-in at the front desk. All the cast members at Disney’s Yacht Club are extremely friendly and accommodating! A great tip to keep in mind is you can always see if there are any upgrades available for your room. We were able to get a free upgrade from a standard view to a water view!

The lobby is also absolutely amazing here. It has a very adventurous and nautical theme to it. You can find everything you need right in this area, such as the restaurant, lounge, bell services, and the front desk.

Right outside the backside of the lobby, there is a boardwalk that will lead you to the boat transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Transportation Options From The Yacht Club

We love all of the transportation options the Yacht Club has to offer, and we’re sure you will too! As mentioned before, there are walking paths to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The Epcot walking path is very short and will get you to the International Gateway in about 5 – 10 minutes. The entrance at International Gateway is on the back side of Epcot by World Showcase .

The walking path to Hollywood Studios is a little bit longer than the Epcot one. This one can take 20 minutes or more. However, there is boat transportation to Hollywood Studios if you don’t want to walk! You can find boat transportation right behind the lobby that will take you to Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

If you don’t want to walk or take the boat to Hollywood Studios, you can always take the Skyliner! There is a Skyliner location right outside International Gateway that will take you first to Disney’s Riviera Resort, and then to the Skyliner central hub at Caribbean Beach Resort. From here you will get off the Skyliner and get in line for a different Skyliner track to take you to Hollywood Studios.

So there are so many options to get to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, but what about the other parks? Disney has bus transportation from the Yacht Club to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Spring, and the water parks.

If you plan on spending a lot of time at either Epcot or Hollywood Studios, the Yacht Club is one of the best resorts to stay at.

Disney Yacht Club Room Review

There are several different room options at the Yacht Club. There is Standard View, Water View, Garden or Woods View, and 2 Bedroom Suites. All of the view rooms also have club level options.

I was able to stay in a Water View room. The room was absolutely delightful! It had a nautical theme to match the rest of the resort, and it was quite spacious. The room had two queen beds and a pull out couch, so it was able to sleep up to 5 guests. We only had 4 guests in our room, but I could imagine the pull out bed might make the room feel a little more cramped.

The room had large closets with space to hang clothes, and a big sink and bathroom area with two sinks. The shower had a sliding glass door, which I prefer over a curtain.

I really liked that this room had wood flooring compared to carpet. It added to the nautical theme very well. The room also had a balcony that looked over the back entrance of the lobby and the water. Overall, the room was very nice, and I thoroughly enjoyed its set up!

Yacht Club rooms average in price anywhere between $400 to over $3000 per night depending on what room you stay in and what time of the year you visit.

Dining Options At The Yacht Club

There are some really great and delicious dining options at the Yacht Club. This resort has two restaurants, two lounges, a quick service restaurant, a restaurant located in between the Yacht and Beach Club, and a pool bar.

The two restaurants at the Yacht Club are Ale & Compass and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Yachtsman Steakhouse is currently temporarily unavailable, but Ale & Compass is open for breakfast and dinner. This restaurant follows the nautical theme with a relaxing atmosphere and some delicious coastal eats.

The Ale & Compass Lounge is located adjacent to the restaurant. Here, you can order off the lounge menu and even the restaurant menu. This lounge can fill up quickly at night though, so make sure to grab a seat early if you want to eat or drink here.

The other lounge, Crew’s Cup Lounge,  is right next to Yachtsman Steakhouse and is also temporarily unavailable. We hope that the lounge and restaurant will open soon!

The quick service location shares a spot with the Yacht Club’s gift shop. When you enter the Market at Ale & Compass, on the right is the gift shop and on the left is the quick service restaurant. They serve coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and more. This is a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat to or from the parks!

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is the hidden gem of the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts! This restaurant is located in between the two resorts and serves some wonderful food! They are open for lunch and dinner and they serve sandwiches and burgers. My favorite is their Grilled Cheese sandwich, its delicious!

However, save room for the best part of this restaurant. The ice cream! They have shakes, floats, and sundaes! You can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. If you’re feeling really brave though, try the Kitchen Sink sundae. This sundae is meant for 4 or more people, and includes every topping and a whole can of whipped cream! I have attempted it twice, and I still haven’t been able to finish it. Maybe you can!

Hurricane Hanna’s Grill is the pool bar located right next to Stormalong Bay. They have a few food items and some refreshing drinks.

If you’ve tried everything at the Yacht Club and want something different, head over to the Beach Club! Here you can find even more restaurants and tasty eats!

Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club Resort

Yacht Club Swimming Pools

The Yacht and Beach Club have hands down the best swimming pools on Disney World property. It’s considered more of a small water park than swimming pools because it’s so large!

Stormalong Bay is 3 acres of refreshing fun! It includes a large sand bottomed pool and a lazy river. There are waterfalls, a volleyball net in the pool, and a water slide.

This water slide is no joke. You climb a large shipwrecked ship all the way to the top and then slide down this long and exciting slide! Stormalong Bay even has a “beach” area with sand to play with! After all that fun, go relax in one of 3 whirlpool spas.

Right by the entrance to the water slide is a small kid play area with a mini water slide. This is a great introduction to the big slide for nervous kids!

Don’t need all the excitement of Stormalong Bay? There are also 3 leisure pools at the Yacht and Beach Club for guests to enjoy.

If you plan on staying at the Yacht Club, you must plan a resort day into your schedule! Make some time for this awesome mini water park and relax away from the parks! You won’t regret it.

Amenities At The Yacht Club Resort

There are so many fun amenities and things to do at Disney’s Yacht Club. When it comes to activities, there are fishing excursions, a tennis court, a sand volleyball court, jogging trails, motorized boat rentals, an arcade, and a fitness center. Just ask the front desk if you’d like to book a fishing excursion or rent a boat to go out on the water!

The Yacht Club even has a spa! Ship Shape Massage Salon is a full service spa that can do massages, facials, hairstyling, and nails. We all need a relaxing day every once and awhile! Why not enjoy the spa on your day off from the parks?

The resort also has campfire activities, movies under the stars, and a Pirate Adventure Cruise (which is unfortunately temporarily unavailable at the moment). The Yacht Club is within walking distance of the Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Golf. Go show off your mini golf skills at this adorably themed course!

This resort really has a lot of fun things for you and your family to enjoy! You will definitely want to take a day away from the parks to enjoy this amazing resort!

Overall Thoughts On Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

We at Disney Trippers absolutely love Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The whole place is incredibly peaceful and beautiful. It has the perfect mix of being family friendly and adult friendly with lots of things to do. So whether you’re traveling with a bunch of adults or your kids, everyone will enjoy it!

Most everything is in super close distance to this resort. The only time you will have to take the bus is to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Spring, or the water parks. The other parks and some resorts are really easy to get to, making this a top notch location for a resort.

If you have a day off from the parks, make sure to enjoy all of the amenities the Yacht Club has to offer. You could spend a whole day just having fun at the resort! You definitely don’t want to miss out on this place!

We stayed at the Disney Yacht Club the last time we were at DW. We loved it. The staff was outstanding. It was an adult family vacation, and due to different work schedules, some family members had to fly in at different times. The staff accommodated each one and made them feel as if they already knew them. We loved the location as we could walk to different locations. We tried the Kitchen Sink sundae, but couldn’t finish it. We sure had fun trying. We actually took one day to enjoy the resort and were not disappointed. We spent time in the swimming pool, which was amazing with the sand bottom. Lunch was an delicious lobster roll and we finished off at the steakhouse. I would certainly recommend this resort to all who are considering a trip to Disney World.

  Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Ahoy there, adventurer!

  • Introduction

After fun-filled days in the parks, retreat to this oversized New England beach house for a stay inspired by the nautical charms of the USA’s East Coast.

With two Walt Disney World theme parks within walking distance and a network of other transportation options at your fingertips, it’s easy to see why Disney’s Yacht Club is a sought-after hotel in Walt Disney World. Overlooking Crescent Lake and with the restaurants of Disney’s BoardWalk nearby, this is undoubtedly a prime location. The rooms have a luxurious feel, with hardwood floors and plush furnishings and have a slightly more formal feel than the neighbouring Disney’s Beach Club Resort, with which it shares restaurants and a three-acre water park. Stormalong Bay features a gentle-entry sand-bottom pool, lazy river, and slides. And when everyone’s exhausted from all the fun, a retro ice cream parlour stands by with sugar-laden treats to give everyone a boost.

Why we love Disney's Yacht Club Resort

The Disney parks open 30 minutes early and have extended evening hours just for guests of Disney Deluxe Resorts, like this one.

The transport options to get you to the park are excellent. Catching a boat to Disney’s Hollywood Studios or the Disney Skyliner to EPCOT makes getting there part of the fun. A complimentary bus takes you to and from Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

There are plenty of family activities, from organised games around the pool to toasting marshmallows around a campfire and complimentary Movies Under the Stars.

The vast pool complex is a winner on hot Florida days. It has a sandy beach that gently slopes into the water, slides, and a lazy river, too. You can rent a cabana to make a day of it.

The rooms feel more contemporary than other options in Walt Disney World, with understated Disney theming, an elegantly nautical palette, and hardwood floors. If you opt for a room without club-level benefits, you can choose a resort view or a water view – the rooms are otherwise the same and sleep up to five adults. Upgrading to Club Level Service gives you access to the exclusive Regatta Club with complimentary breakfast, snacks, and refreshments.

Accommodating up to five adults by opting for the two queen beds and a day bed configuration, these rooms have a patio or balcony that overlooks an area of the resort, such as the gardens, rooftop, or car park.

  • air-conditioning
  • balcony or patio
  • coffee maker
  • beverage cooler

Opt for the Water View room for a guaranteed pool or Crescent Lake view – perfect if you want to start or end your day relaxing on your private balcony or patio. Otherwise, it’s the same as a Resort View room.

Sleeps up to four adults. A patio or balcony overlooks the garden, rooftop, or car park. You’ll have complimentary access to the health club and the Regatta Lounge.

  • lounge access

This room has the same layout as a Resort View room, but you’ll have a view across the pool or lake from your patio or balcony.

  • Good to Know

This is a big hotel with a choice of restaurants to match, shared with the neighbouring Disney’s Beach Club Resort. They've thought of everything, from a top steakhouse to market-style cafes, a buffet, a poolside grill, and an ice cream parlour. The market-style venues are handy for stocking up on snacks ahead of days in the parks or grabbing coffee and breakfast to take with you. Within a ten-minute walk around Crescent Lake, there are more dining options at Disney’s BoardWalk and more choices within EPCOT.

Cape May Café This buffet restaurant hosts a character breakfast with Minnie Mouse and friends and opens again in the evening for a seafood buffet.

Beaches & Cream Soda ShopAlongside American staples of burgers and sandwiches for lunch and dinner, this ultra-themed diner serves the best ice cream and desserts.

Beach Club Marketplace Stock up on snacks and coffee before hitting the parks or pick up a quick breakfast or lunch from this café-meets-market venue.

Martha’s Vineyard This relaxed New England-style lounge features a bar menu of wings, potato skins, mussels, cheese plates, and a full drinks selection.

Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar & Grill Pick up refreshments for your pool day from this open-air grill.

Ale & Compass Restaurant Head here for a buffet or a la carte breakfast, sandwiches and burgers for lunch, or a wide-ranging selection of evening meal options.

Ale & Compass Lounge Feel like you’re aboard a luxury yacht in this nautical bar, where you’ll find a varied bar menu alongside savoury snacks.

The Market at Ale & Compass This grab-and-go option is ideal for a quick breakfast or picking up snacks for the day ahead.

Yachtsman Steakhouse Steaks and seafood are cooked in an open kitchen in this formal restaurant.

Crew’s Cup Lounge A cosy bar next to the Yachtsman Steakhouse, with a lounge menu if you’re just looking for a light bite.

The Market at Ale & Compass is a handy place to pick up morning coffee, a quick brekkie, and stocking up on emergency snacks ahead of a long day in the parks.

Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan is available at more than one hundred venues across Walt Disney World. The plan is loaded onto your Disney band or card, which you can use to redeem the credits anytime during your stay.

Disney Dining Plan Your Disney band or card is preloaded with credits that you can use to pay for meals at over two hundred locations across Walt Disney World. For each night of your stay, you will receive credits for one quick-service meal, one table-service meal, one drink per meal, and one snack. When you arrive, you will receive a refillable drink mug that you can use for free refills at your Disney resort hotel. Fine and signature dining, dinner shows, and character dining are included in the plan, but two table-service meals will be deducted from your dining credits.

The Ship Shape Health Club has a range of fitness equipment or follow one of the jogging trails around Crescent Lake. For recreation, there are plenty of golf courses throughout Walt Disney World, and there’s a sand volleyball court near the Tidal Pool, with equipment available to collect from Ship Shape Health Club. There are also illuminated tennis and pickleball courts.

Hire boats from the Disney’s Beach Club Resort marina or take a fishing excursion on Crescent Lake.

Walt Disney World has taken a significant step towards sustainability by eliminating single-use plastic straws and stirrers across its premises and working towards a goal of zero waste to landfill by 2030. Organic waste generated at Walt Disney World is sent to an off-site composting facility to be turned into nutrient-rich soil, which can be used to fertilise plants.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort makes family holidays to Walt Disney World simple. EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are within walking distance, and a regular bus service picks you up outside the hotel to whisk you to the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

There isn’t a children’s club. Time here is spent together as a family, whether splashing around in Stormalong Bay, relaxing around a campfire, or watching Movies Under the Stars after dusk.

It’s useful to know there’s a 24-hour self-service laundry available, or valet laundry services and dry cleaning, if you prefer.

Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance from January 2025 to May 2025.

Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours.

During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove pools.
