Legal documents proving you can get married need to be provided

Legal documents proving eligibility to get married in Cyprus are necessary for couples planning to tie the knot in this beautiful island nation. Firstly, both parties must have valid passports. Embassies and Consulates require a minimum period of stay before issuing marriage licenses, ranging from 24 hours to 15 days. If either party has been previously divorced, a decree absolute must be provided. In cases where either party is a widow(er), they must present a death certificate of the previous spouse. To register the marriage, both parties must appear in person before a marriage officer, accompanied by two witnesses who are at least 18 years old. 

You do need to have at least two witnesses

Why not have your ceremony aboard a yacht. A really exciting and wonderful option for those looking for something a little different. Celebrate whilst cruising over the clear waters of the Mediterranean sea to the backdrop of a stunning sunset. Imagine a balloon filled yacht, ribbon and flower decorated tables for your magical day.

Whether having a ceremony on board  in a local church or town hall, you can continue with a wedding reception onboard.   Sailing away on a yacht takes  really does takes some beating!

Board your yacht  at the harbor with the beautiful Paphos medieval castle in the back-ground.

We can offer a selection of private yachts to suit the size of your wedding party and budget. There are a number of packages available from 2hrs up to 6hr yacht hire. You may decide to have a finger buffet, buffet meal or sit down meal plus open bar or pay as you go. For those wishing to make use of a 4hr, 5hr or 6hr package we can arrange your very own private DJ on board that will add to the atmosphere and get everyone in the mood for your afternoon or evening celebration. Please enquire for further details should you prefer this alternative Amazing Yacht Wedding and  Reception option.

• Supplements are applicable on the  “Sea Star ” yacht if required before 17.00hrs. €1,100 depending on package chosen.
• Supplement for Ocean Flyer yacht of €1,700. This price includes an overnight stay in the Honeymoon Suite, Moet & Chandon champagne, continental breakfast, scheduled cruise the following Morning and a chauffeur driven car to take you back to your accommodation.
• Children under the age of 12yrs are counted as half price – 2 years and under are free
• All prices include: Yacht, Captain, Crew, Fuel, Port Taxes and VAT, Wedding Ribbons, Rosettes, Balloons and Table Decorations-   the table decoration included is the silk flower arrangements only. Glass Decorations Bows and  flowers can be arranged at an additional cost.
• Please note to be included in the cost, should you wish to marry onboard is the ceremony, license & registrar fee payable to the town hall.  €633.

For now please can I ask you to take a look at which one you of the yacht hire packages you would prefer taking note of hire time available with each package and cruise time available. If you wish to cruise for approximately 2hrs and wish to hire a yacht for approximately 6hrs may I suggest either the Captains Table Package that i ncludes approximately 2hr cruise time.

It is also very important to be aware that should you choose the ocean flyer yacht there is a supplement of €1,700.00 payable regardless of the time you wish to hire the yacht, should you prefer the sea star yacht there is no supplement required as with the korisivo yacht but the yachts will be available from only 5pm .

What better way to thank your family and friends for coming over to Cyprus with you to celebrate your wedding?

The big thank you package is very affordably priced

We start by collecting you and your guests from their accommodation with our Bridal Bus (open topped London Bus) and having a tour of Paphos and then heading down to the harbor to board one of the yachts for a two hour cruise, complete with champagne, open bar and fruits, returning back to the harbor for a return journey to your accommodation with our open top bus.

 All round trip 3 hours (days and times to be arranged)

 Minimum 15 people (if not 15 you must pay for 15)

 Host and champagne on the bus included

 Champagne, drinks and fruits on the yacht included.

Please note that these parties will be on board Jolly Roger or Kurosivo IV. However, the Company has the right to change to another vessel if required. There may be other wedding parties on board at the same time.

Great food and drink and the crew went out of the way to ensure everyone had a good time paying special attention to our elderly guest by collected her food for her which was very thoughtful as she finds it difficult to walk. We would like to say a personal thank you to them and we also have a few piccys too. They did us a special ‘ganam star’ dance at the end of the evening which was fab! A true credit to your company. DJ – The music was fantastic! Great guy and entertained us brilliantly throughout the evening with little direction of the type of music we like he just knew what he was doing. A fantastic party had by all. My mum made me laugh pre wedding as both families are fairly quiet and she was worried ‘no one would dance’ we told her not to worry everyone will just do whatever they like if they don’t want to dance that’s fine…. she was the first one up dancing and we did stop all night! Everyone had a great time and a great selection of music was played.

We would also like to thank Sharron Wratten for persuading us to book with EYW at the wedding fair all that time (not that we need much persuading) once she showed us the pictures of the Ocean Flyer and went through the package we were sold! Sharron was great, extremely helpful and friendly and not pushy making us feel relaxed and excited allowing time to make a discussion without feeling pressured at all. She really listened to what we were looking for and advised us how best to achieve it.

The price of your wedding will depend entirely on the venue you choose, the size of your party and any additional extras you choose. The cost of a Cypriot wedding, however, can average less than a quarter of the cost of the average wedding in the UK – plus you get the benefit of guaranteed sunshine! Our specialists will be able to give you a much clearer idea of price once you have discussed your requirements with them, and will work closely with you to stick to your budget. 2.Where do I start with booking a wedding in Cyprus? Our Cyprus wedding experts know the location well and can answer any questions you might have. Once you’ve chosen the perfect venue, the booking process begins. Our specialists will work with you through every step and add any extras on for you, so you won’t need to worry about a thing. 3.What type of wedding can I have in Cyprus? You can choose between a Catholic, Anglican or Civil wedding in Cyprus. For the former, your Catholic ceremony must be preceded by a civil wedding ceremony in order to be legally binding in the UK. Additionally, one of you must be Catholic, both of you must be baptised in a Christian church and neither of you may be divorced. The Anglican Church, however, will accept divorcees, although at least one of you must have been baptised as a Christian. Civil ceremonies are modern and practical. You will be issued with a marriage certificate immediately after the ceremony, which is recognised worldwide. 4.Can I pay in instalments? Absolutely. If you’re getting married in the hotter months, you might want to avoid bulky, heavy dresses and thick makeup. Take a look at the average temperatures for the time of year you are getting married and be sensible with your attire choices. Marriages performed in Cyprus are legally binding and internationally recognised. Procedures aren’t particularly complex, which is why the destination is so popular for weddings. Below are the important legalities you need to know to ensure your Cyprus wedding runs as smoothly as possible: · There is a minimum residency period of three working days, meaning, if you are having a hotel ceremony, you must stay at the hotel for at least three days prior to your wedding day. · A selection of documents will be required by both the bride and groom, including birth certificates, your passport and a Single Statutory Declaration, which certifies your right to marry.
