Following almost four years of construction, the breathtaking 116m/381ft motor yacht ULYSSES has been delivered to her discerning owner and is making a passage for Gibraltar.

Leaving Norway after a lengthy and secretive build phase, superyacht ULYSSES is now out on her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean .

Built for a repeat client, the Kleven shipyard built the former ULYSSES which is now known as the 107m/352ft expedition yacht ANDROMEDA back in 2015. Norwegian-based Marin Teknikk were responsible for exterior design and engineering. Whilst British stylists H2 Yacht Design were responsible for the interior spaces on board the original ULYSSES, the team at Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD) have been brought in to finish the brand new ULYSSES.

Whilst the brand new superyacht ULYSSES is 9 metres longer than her predecessor, she is also larger in terms of gross tonnage (GT). Indeed, ULYSSES boasts an interior spaciousness of 6700 tonnes, whilst the former ULYSESS has an internal volume of 5937 tonnes. To get a better understanding of the difference between the two superyachts, consider that superyacht ULYSSES is 8% larger and 13% more spacious than the one that came before her.

As a state of the art expedition yacht, it will come as no surprise to learn that ULYSSES boasts a commanding fleet of tenders which will allow her owner and his guests to get out and explore even the most faraway reaches of the world’s waters.

Indeed, there is space on the bow dedicated for storing a Princess 68 as well as an impressive sports fisher which are both sure to provide plenty of options to those on board. Similarly, the amidship section is home to a helipad for a Bell 429 helicopter which will make accessing various destinations as convenient as possible. The hangar on the top deck also provides some excellent storage for this additional feature.

Based on naval architecture designed by industrial ship builder Marin Teknikk, superyacht ULYSSES is capable of comfortably cruising with up to 66 guests on board. As images of her interior are yet to be published, there is still plenty of speculation surrounding ULYSSES and the features she’s certain to feature inside.

ULYSSES // Kleven // 116m

Kleven ulysses aka u116: norwegian shipbuilder kleven verft launched their second superyacht to the same owner after ulysses in 2014..

Kleven U116 (370) was designed by Marin Teknikk in cooperation with New Zealand based Oscar Mike Naval Architects for Graeme Hart. The yacht has a length of 116m.

Update 5th December 2016: She arrived Stahlbau Nord in Bremerhaven, Germany for final outfitting like her smaller sister ( Ulysses 107m (now ANDROMEDA ). The vessel accommodates 66 people.

The big flybridge motor yacht is a Princess 68. The smaller open yacht is a VanDutch 40 or 55. I think it is the 40 feet version. The covered boat with the four outboard engines seems to be a HydraSports Custom Sueños . Comparing with the former yacht of Mr. Heart, this is just an excerpt of the complete tender fleet.

Graeme Hart's new superyacht spotted in the Mediterranean on maiden voyage

The superyacht owned by New Zealand's richest man is currently taking its maiden voyage through the Mediterranean.

The vessel, dubbed Ulysses, is currently located at the Greek Island of Zakynthos, having made the trip south from Croatia.

On the September 1, Croatian media reported that the 116m yacht had pulled into the port of Dubrovnik, before heading further south.

It's estimated that Hart spent roughly US$250 million ($381m) on the mega yacht, his third named Ulysses.

He parted ways with his previous vessel in late 2017, selling it for an undisclosed sum.

Hart's previous superyacht did not make the voyage to New Zealand, and it's unclear if there are plans for his latest vessel to make the long trip from the Mediterranean.

Superyachts that do make this trip, generally do so in the Southern Hemisphere summer.

Before the second Ulysses, Hart owned a more modest vessel with a length of only 57.6m and an estimated value of around $98m at the time. This vessel was subsequently renamed Grand Russalina under new ownership.

In the latest rundown of NBR's Rich List, Hart remained at the top of the pile among New Zealand's richest people.

His net worth is estimated to be in the vicinity of $14.5 billion.

The successor to the 2015 yacht of the same name (now renamed Andromeda), Ulysses was commissioned by New Zealand's richest man Graeme Hart. As before, the rugged exterior design was developed in collaboration with naval architecture firm Oscar Mike, however British-based studio RWD has been drafted in to create the interior decor.

Built by Kleven in 2017, 116m (381ft) superyacht MULTIVERSE (ex ULYSSES, U116) is the second luxury yacht from Kleven built for a New Zealand owner with her 107m/351ft predecessor also bearing the name ULYSSES at launch. The vessel was constructed on the shipyard's MT 5006 MKII ESV platform, which Marin Teknikk of Norway designed in collaboration with Naval Architect Kyle Dick from New Zealand-based Oscar Mike Naval Architects. MULTIVERSE has over five decks of amenities and features an exterior by Oscar Mike, while RWD completed the interior.

The pool deck contains an expansive pool and lounging area on the aft section, with the Jacuzzi and sunpads along the stern taking in sweeping views. The 303-footer, known as Royal Romance , was seized in Croatia earlier this year as part of the widespread Western sanctions imposed against Russian individuals and businesses following Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

Delivered by Dutch yard Feadship in 2015, the custom superyacht features a sleek steel hull and a lightweight aluminum superstructure. Onboard, she has seven staterooms for up to 14 guests and cabins for 21 crew, plus a 39-foot swimming pool with a waterfall that flows over the stern.

ARMA said its representatives had flown to Croatia and “inspected the arrested yacht belonging to the family members of a people’s deputy and one of the leaders of a political force banned in Ukraine.”

Medvedchuk, who is often referred to as the “dark prince” of Ukrainian politics, has led a pro-Kremlin political party in Ukraine for years. He has also been a loyal ally of Putin for the past two decades. The Russian president is even godfather to his daughter Daria, as reported by The Guardian . Medvedchuk has been sanctioned by the US, the UK and Ukraine. He was arrested in Ukraine in April, then handed over to Russia in a prisoner exchange in September.

The auction of Royal Romance would mark the first such sale on behalf of the people of Ukraine. Back in September, a $75 million superyacht that was seized from Russian steel magnate Dmitry Pumpyansky was auctioned off Gibraltar. However, the proceeds went to JP Morgan after a legal claim from the US investment bank said Pumpyansky’s holding company Pyrene Investments owed it more than $20 million. Let’s hope Ukraine sees the funds this time around.
