Luxurious and powerful, the Mobilvetta Euroyacht A-class motorhomes built between 1996 and 2002 should be on your ‘must-see’ list if you’re thinking of buying a deluxe motorhome.
As we do regularly at Practical Motorhome, online and in the magazine , here we are focusing on a great used mainstream motorhome, giving you expert advice so you are able to buy with confidence. We tell you which is the best of the bunch, what to pay and any problems to look out for.
This time, we are looking at the Iveco-based Mobilvetta Euroyacht. If you are looking for the best luxury used motorhomes for sale, make sure you take a look at some pre-owned Euroyachts.
Mobilvetta Design began making high-end furniture in 1961 – in 1976 it built its first motorhome. Around 20 years later, the company launched the Euroyacht, which – when coupled with the bombproof twin-rear-wheel-drive Iveco chassis-cowl – resulted in one of the best A-class motorhomes ever built.
These Italian lovelies really were in a class of their own, featuring quality cabinetwork with traditional joinery and radius hardwoods. The high standards of equipment levels and practical, new-to-Britain layouts led to them sailing out of the showroom with ease.
The Iveco-based range kicked off with the 6.8m 170 LX and 175 LX models. The 170 has a forward lounge and a midships kitchen ahead of a rear washroom. The 175, meanwhile, has double and single Pullman dinettes and bunk beds – bringing the sleeping-berth count to seven!
Next up was the 7.45m 180 LX, with a similar lounge to the 170. However, the extra length allows a fixed, European-style corner bed ahead of the full-width rear washroom.
The Mobilvetta Design Euroyacht A-class coachbuilt was built in Barberino Val D’Elsa, Tuscany, Italy between 1996 and 2002. The Euroyacht’s overall length is a modest 6.85m to 7.45m (22ft 6in to 24ft 6in).
So, what should you look out for when looking round a used Mobilvetta Euroyacht at a motorhome dealership? Here are Practical Motorhome’s expert tips to help you buy better. Let’s start with the base vehicle. The 2.5- and 2.8-litre mechanical injection TD units are under-stressed and should – given regular maintenance – last 250,000 miles. On early five-speeders, the first gear was so short that many drivers didn’t bother to use it: so do check that it can still be selected easily.
Some back-axle noise is acceptable, but avoid motorhomes with incontinent gearboxes and rear-axles. Almost all examples of the Mobilvetta Euroyacht are left-hand drive vehicles, which might be an advantage if you spend a lot of time on tour abroad in your motorhome.
The skirts of the Euroyacht can discolour over time, and the gel coat on the moulded GRP front end cap goes flat! Bargain hard if this is the case, but be prepared to put a lot of effort in if you decide that you want to restore it to its former glory.
The foam in the habitation seat squabs was soft even when new, so this is likely to need replacing for maximum seat comfort.
So, what do we think of these ‘vans? Here are our likes:

- Three-piece windscreen has blind spots
- Challenging access to the in-line engine
What’s our pick of the range? Well, unless you have a large family, go for the Movilvetta Euroyacht 180 LX. We think this is the motorhome that offers the most sensuous luxury.
But what to pay? Mint examples are available from close to £18,000. Those that have been lived-in and need an interior overhaul are sometimes available on eBay from £10,000 (on European plates).
What alternatives are there? You could also try the Laika Ecovip 200i and 400i Iveco-based A-class models, or the Mobilvetta Icaro. These have the same layouts and are also based on Iveco vans, but have been built as overcab coachbuilt motorhomes. Consider all three if you see them come up at a good price on the secondhand market.

Een ongeblazen versie met 80 pk een turbo uitvoering met 100 pk en een intercooler met 120 pk. Je kon de Daily toen kopen van 3 tot 6 ton. Het leuke is dat je de drie ton uitvoering kon opkeuren tot 6 ton. En de 6 ton uitvoering kon terugkeuren naar 3 ton.. Dan kreeg je gewoon een enkellucht achterasje met een (spek) veer pakket. De bestelwagens hadden een 3 mm chassis, en de Chassis cabine had een 4 mm shassis...... Onverwoestbaar. Pas alleen op voor je laadvermogen. Heb er een in overijssel zien staan met een ledig gewicht van 3350 kg. Dan mag je vriendin niet meer hebben dan maatje 34 Groetjes van Swieber Rinus

Descrizione
Motorhome di casa Mobilvetta: il famoso Euroyacht! Letto basculante nella parte anteriore del veicolo, letto posteriore singolo trasversale, con la possibilità di trasformarlo in un letto a castello oppure usarlo come un gavone, dinette anteriore classica, molto spaziosa. La cucina, con frigo trivalente, è posizionata nella parte posteriore, consentendo comodi spostamenti. Bagno con piatto doccia separata e cassetta WC estraibile. Completano il veicolo importanti optionals: il portamoto su tutti, ma anche il clima motore e un inverter.

Erfahrungen mit Mobilvetta?
| und uns gefällt im Moment immer noch der Orsa Minore von Mobilvetta am besten. Da wir aber absolut keine Mobilvetta-Fahrer kennen (und man den Händlern nicht unbedingt immer alles glauben kann) würden uns natürlich Erfahrungen mit Mobilvetta interessieren. Also, fährt hier jemand mit einem Mobilvetta Mobil und wenn ja, wie sieht es aus mit der Zufriedenheit der Verarbeitung etc. Auf was sollte man besonders achten, was findet ihr gut, was schlecht an den Fahrzeugen. Das Fahrzeug was wir im Auge haben ist Baujahr 2001/bzw. 2002 und hat Iveco-Chassis mit Gesamtgewicht 4,2 t. So ein paar Erfahrungsberichte würden uns echt freuen, denn wir fahren jetzt nächsten Woche 700 km, um uns ein solches Mobil anzuschauen, und da wollen wir bestmöglichst vorbereitet sein (denn soeben mal vorbeihuschen ist da nicht drin). oder versuchs hier machte immer wieder Mucken, da schaffte dann erst ein Autoelektriker mittels Einbau eines weiteren, stärkeren Motors endgültig Abhilfe. (Was wir mit herausgefallener Trittstufe gefahren sind, Wahnsinn, einmal mitten im engen Palermo um die Kurve und die Stufe fiel heraus, entsetzlich!!) Auch warteten wir mal auf eine Stauraumklappe ich glaube ein dreiviertel Jahr. Wir trafen aber in Barberino Val d'Elsa, wo die Fahrzeuge herkamen, auf ein Paar, welches sich dort im Werk noch weitere oder andere Möbel hatte einbauen lassen, die Leute waren überaus angetan und zufrieden damit. Zu der Qualität des Fahrzeugs und des Aufbaues kann ich prinzipiell nur Gutes mitteilen, wie erwähnt, auch von der Optik her nur Positives. Kann aber auch sein, daß sich die Qualität mittlerweile verschlechtert hat, seit Mobilvetta nicht mehr eine eigenständige Marke ist. Hallo, was ist denn nun aus dem Mobilvetta geworden? Gekauft? Schau mal ins Profil von Karin, da steht unter mein Wohnmobil: Mobilvetta Orsa Minore Blueline Länge 7,10 m Gewicht 4,2 t Also wird sie es wohl gekauft haben ;-) ist? Hallo MobilIveco, ich bin absoluter Neuling und stehe kurz davor, mir auch einen Mobilvetta Huari 1121 gebraucht zu kaufen. Das Fahrzeug ist zugelassen 8/08 und hat erst 150 km auf dem Tacho. Wie sind Deine Erfahrungen mit dem Fahrzeug in Bezug auf die Zuladung. In der Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil 1, Punkt G, steht ein Gewicht von 3046 kg. Wie kommt man da mit 3500 kg zul. Ges. Gew. zurecht? In der Regel wollen meine Frau und ich das WOMO nutzen. Ist evtl. eine Auflastung auf 4000 kg notwendig, damit man mit normalem Gepäck nicht ständig überladen ist? Hallo, tut mir leid, daß ich erst jetzt antworte, hatte deine Frage übersehen. Uns wurde von Gante (ohne jede technische Umrüstung) zur Wahl gestellt 3,5 oder 4 to. Eine Änderung auf 4 to. sollte also ggf. bei dir kein Problem sein. Wir fahren ihn aber auch als 3,5 Tonner. Sicher urlaubsfertig leicht überladen. Ich hatte ihn einmal, weitgehend urlaubsfertig, auf der Waage. 2250 kg ohne Insassen und ohne Motorroller, nur wenig Wasser und kein voller Tank. Da ich mit dem Wagen aber rein konstruktiv auf der völlig sicheren Seite bin mache ich mir darüber keine Sorgen. an 220 V angeschlossen war, und ich in der annahme das über das eingebaute Ladegerät nun die Starterbatterie und die Bordstrom batt geladen würde, war die Starterbatt nach 4 wochen Leer , und die Bordbatt Voll ist aber gleichzeitig ein Solarpanel montiert , bin ich da einem Gedankenfehler aufgesetzt oder was......... weiter ; suche ich Händeringend 2 Scharniere für den Tisch , vorhandene sind 80 mm lang , aber alle im Handel 70 mm somit unbrauchbar. weiter suche ich ein Fahrzeugspeziefisches techn Handbuch / Werkstattbuch Motor Antrieb el USW . währe schön wenn mir jemand helfen könnte. Hallo Rudolf, Herzlich Willkommen hier ! sorry was Du da oben schreibst klingt ein bißchen viel durcheinander ! Meist werden beide Batterien geladen.Um das aber festzustellen, solltest Du da in erster Linie mal bei anliegenden 230V Deine Batterien messen und das Ergebnis hier posten, Dann sehen wir weiter. Zum Rest wird sich ja evtl. noch jemand finden. Oder wende Dich was die Basis angeht an Iveco zu unternehmen und dann nach 2 Wochen wieder zu Hause zu sitzen, vielleicht ein Wohnmobil anzuschaffen und durch Europa zu stromern.... Lange Rede...., zunächst wurde nach einem guten gebrauchten Ausschau gehalten, etc. p.p. usw. Dann waren wir Ende August auf der WoMo Messe in D'dorf und haben uns in die Mobilvetta verliebt. Innenaustattung, Grundriss usw. gefiel uns einfach sehr. Fazit: jetzt haben wir einen nigelnagelneuen Kea 65 :love: und sind auf dem Sprung, unsere Zweitwohnung auf Rädern definitiv in Empfang zu nehmen. Nun habe ich auch verschiedene negative Kommentare über die Firma in Süddeutschland gelesen, die war ja, wenn ich mich recht erinnere, mit der Mobilvetta auf der Messe (?). Da wir seit vielen Jahrzehnten auf Mallorca leben, recherchierte mein Mann nach Konzessionären auf dem spanischen Festland und wurde bei einer Fa., unweit von Barcelona fündig. Mitte Oktober haben wir, nach vorherigem intensiven Mailwechsel und Telefonaten, vor Ort "unser Modell" besichtigt und den Kaufvertrag abgeschlossen. Mein Mann ist technisch recht versiert und somit wurden viele Extras bestellt. Somit wurde es ein 180 CV heavy chassis mit 16 Zoll Reifen, Führerhaus grau, Backofen (das war mein bescheidener Wunsch :? ), Alarmsensoren, Satanlage, anderes Navigationssytem (Zenec), hydraulische Stabilisatoren......, naja, halt das neue Hobby. Sowohl der Konzessionär, als auch die Fa., welche die elektronischen Geräte einbaut, als auch der spezialisierte Versicherungsbroker haben uns bisher 100%ig überzeugt. Lieferzeit +/- zuverlässig, Preise der Extras in allen Punkten ok (im Vergleich zu Deutschland und Holland). Wenn wir nächste Woche unsere "Caracola" (Schnecke) abholen, ist sie angemeldet, versichert, Steuern bezahlt, Vertrag mit der Gasfirma gemacht..., wir können sozusagen direkt damit losfahren. Es war mir ein Bedürfnis, auch mal Positives über Fachleute zu äußern, noch dazu im südlichen Ausland. Wij hebben 13 jaar (ongeveer 125.000 km) gereden met een Euroyacht 175L Mobilvetta (integraal) op chassis Iveco 40.12, 2,8 ltr, 116 pk. Zijn daar altijd zéér tevreden over geweest qua motorisatie en afwerking van de camper. Een nadeeltje, de motor maakte toen meer lawaai dan de huidige versies. Hallo Mobilvetta K-Yacht MH-85 Fans, Ihr seid nicht Alleine, haben uns auch im Februar 2015 eine Mobilvetta K-Yacht 85, jedoch Maxi-Variante 4,25t, bei Steigerwald bestellt, müssen jedoch aufgrund von Lieferschwierigkeiten bis Juni 2015 warten. Hoffe nun, dass der Liefertermin 19. Juni eingehalten werden kann.
Seit einer Woche sind auch wir stolze Besitzer eins Mobilvetta Icaro 5L. Erfahrungen noch gleich null, aber wir fühlen uns wohl drin, das Raumgefühl ist einfach toll. Hoffe wir können uns weiter hier gegenseitig auf dem Laufenden halten. Auch unsere Trittstufe macht mucken, da muß wohl auch ein neuer Motor her.
Commenti generali. Veramente maneggevole in manovra in spazi stretti; molto confortevole per 4 persone; d'inverno con un pò di accortezza ha risposto perfettamente a temperature di -18 gradi. Considerazioni finali: Funzionale, elegante e ben rifinito. Unico motorhome dall'aspetto accattivante.
