Aqua Rentz offers a great lineup of powerboats to cruise and fish in the Barnegat Bay. Our powerboat options include bowriders, center consoles, and pontoon boats that can accommodate parties of up to 8 passengers. We offer half-day, full-day, and multi-day rentals based on your preferences. We encourage you to have an NJ boater safety certificate when renting our boats; however, one is not required. If you do not have an NJ boater safety certificate, complete a pre-rental boater safety instructional course at our marina before your rental.

Nj state law requires anyone operating a motorized vessel to have a boating safety certificate. follow the link for more information on how to acquire one boat-ed.com.

• A Boating Safety Certificate is required to operate any motorized vessel in the State of NJ. Absolutely NO “pink slips” will be accepted for pontoon rentals at the Oceanic Marina.
• Pontoon operator/driver must be minimum of 30 years old. Boating experience is required to rent.
• Full payment is due at time of reservations for all rentals. A CC must also be kept on file for incidentals at time of rental.
• Cancellation Policy for all Boat Reservations: A full refund will be given up until 48hrs prior to reservation. 75% refund will be given for 24hrs notice. 50% refund will be given for same day cancellation. No call/no show will result in no refunds or date changes. Date changes can be made without cancellation charges if made prior to 48hrs of reservation.
• In-climate Weather Policy: Safety is our priority—if the weather is going to be to unpredictable or unsafe for boating (this includes strong winds) we will not allow any rentals to go out. Should you have a reservation with us and we don’t think conditions will be safe, we will call to reschedule or refund your reservation if an alternate date can not be worked out. If you choose to go out and there is a chance of rain and it rains—no refunds will be given and/or reservation date will not be switched.
• SUPs are first come first serve.
• Must be 21 & have boating safety certificate to rent 9.9hp skiffs.
• Last skiff, kayak, SUP rentals go out at 1:45pm

The policy was written from the ground up as a stand-alone recreational boat rental insurance policy covering the period of time that the boat is being rented and is available for all non-commercially insured boats.

Does Boatsetter screen renters?

Yes. We use a system called Cognito to ensure that payment information matches the renter's identity. We also require renters taking out a captained boat to be at least 18 years old and on a bareboat to be at least 25 years old.

Is listing my boat on Boatsetter free?

Yes! Listing a boat is completely free. We only take a commission when your boat is rented. We only make money when you do!

What if I'm not comfortable having a renter drive my boat?

If you are not comfortable having a renter drive your boat, we have an expansive network of licensed and experienced captains. Once your boat is listed, you can filter through our network of captains and favorite captains in your area that you would like to operate your boat.

Bridge Marina only offers a fleet of premium, fully-loaded, current triple pontoon boats for rent on Lake Hopatcong and at the Jersey Shore in Highlands. Our fleet offers top-of-the-line boats and has been specifically chosen to meet a variety of our renters’ needs and local conditions. Our boats comfortably seat a maximum of ten passengers (or 1,300 lbs of passengers and gear) and are well appointed to provide a safe, comfortable and enjoyable boating experience.

Each boat rental includes: safety equipment; anchor; fuel (up to ten gallons of fuel for our Highlands guests); dock lines; fenders; bimini top; depth finder and fish finder; bluetooth; emergency on-water service; pre-rental instruction and our helpful and friendly staff to assure you have a great time!

Our 2023 boating season has ended – thanks to all who joined us for an incredible season on the water!

In season, Lake Hopatcong and Highlands rentals are available for the day, 10am to 5pm.  We also have a limited number of half-day rentals available on Lake Hopatcong. Our calendar books quickly, especially on weekends. Advance reservations are highly recommended.

Bridge Marina is the premier marina on Lake Hopatcong and offers the lake’s finest boat rental fleet, coupled with a professional, award-winning team. We are not your typical boat rental! We have a passion for welcoming our rental guests to the boating experience in safety and in style, and it shows in everything we do.

We also offer our boat rental and boating club services at the Jersey Shore at Baker’s Marina on the Bay in Highlands. At both locations, our rental guests experience top-notch service, exclusive perks and benefits and the finest fleet of boats available.

Renter must present a New Jersey Boater Safety Certificate and valid New Jersey auto driver’s license (you must have a boating safety certificate from state your auto license is issued); Bridge Marina does not issue temporary safety certificates. Please see our full renter qualifications below.

For Lake Hopatcong Rentals, Renter/Driver must

• be 30 years of age or greater

Out-of-state guests

If your license is from another state, you must have a boating safety certificate from state your auto license is from, meet the Boating Safety requirements from your state, and/or present minimum of NJ Boater Safety Certificate, as well as hold a valid auto license and be 30 years of age or older.

All rental guests are encouraged to watch our  Boating Safety and Education video .  The intent of our safety video is to provide guests with basic boating safety information and help ensure that materials have been reviewed; neither the video or assessment certifies or licenses any guest to operate a vessel in New Jersey or any other state.

All boaters must follow all federal and state boating laws, including laws specific to Lake Hopatcong and tidal waters.

If You Do Not Have Your NJ Boater Safety Certificate, We Can Help!

There are several ways for you to get your certificate:

• Our  Learn to Boat programs  will help you get your certification  and  provide you with hands-on boat handling training! For an initial investment, you’ll gain the confidence and training to help you become a better, safer boater! The best part? • We hold the New Jersey Boating Safety Certificate Course and exam in Lake Hopatcong and in Highlands throughout the year!  You can find an in person exam and class with Bridge Marina here .
• You can take an online class  here .  Upon completion, you will need to take an in-person exam; exam dates can be found with Bridge Marina here .

A perfect boating day means different things to different people and we understand that scheduling can be a challenge for boaters. However, as a seasonal boating company that is only able to provide boat rental services for a few months of the year, last minute cancellations incur a great cost to our business and ultimately increase costs for our boaters. Full payment is required to reserve a rental boat of which $100 is non-refundable.

Rescheduling 48 hours in advance of Rental Check-In time may occur with no fee incurred. Rescheduling less than 48 hours before Rental Check-in will result in a $50 service fee. Rescheduled reservations are not eligible for refunds. Rescheduled reservations or credits will be available for six months from initial reservation date.

Cancellations greater than 48 hours in advance of Rental Check-in will be refunded payment less the $100 non-refundable amount. Cancellations less than 48 hours before the Rental Check-in will result in loss of entire reservation payment. If weather creates unsafe boating conditions, we will reschedule as mutually agreeable within restrictions herein. Failure to appear for reservation, late arrivals, inadvertent Boat malfunctions on the part of Renter, weather conditions, early departures or otherwise are not eligible for any refunds.

Afternoon & Sunset Cruises

Welcome aboard for a two and a half hour sail on the Barnegat Bay along the Jersey Shore with Seaside Sailing. You can choose from several sailboat charter options including two and a half hour cruises in the afternoon and evening for a sunset sail. Captain Mike, a US Coast Guard Licensed Master Captain, will be at the helm to direct you along the protected inland waters. With over 50 years of experience sailing and 30 years chartering sailboat cruises, Captain Mike will show you the beautiful sights as well as the ins and outs of sailing. You can even take a turn at the wheel if you like.

Special Needs Families Have Record-Breaking Day On The Bay

  BARNEGAT – The local serene waters of the Barnegat Bay recently came alive with joy recently as individuals with special needs and their families experienced the thrill of a boat ride, many for the first time. Smiles and laughter filled the air as 323 participants embarked on an unforgettable nautical adventure, leaving worries onshore and embracing the freedom of the open water.

  The event, known as Barnegat’s Day on the Bay, saw pontoon boats, speedboats, and even a cigarette boat gliding through the bay, each carrying passengers who were nothing short of thrilled. The sight of children and adults alike beaming with excitement as they took the helm, some even getting a chance to steer, was a heartwarming reminder of the simple joys that many take for granted.

  The last time boats set sail for the special event was five years ago. What made this year’s festivities even more incredible is that the 2024 Day on the Bay had 100 more participants than 2019.

  Meredith Jackstadt and Stacey Fehringer were members of the committee who brought the event together. The two are part of the Barnegat Recreation Department and oversee the Meadow Edge Social Club. They play crucial roles on a regular basis for individuals with special needs.

  Volunteers, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations came together to ensure the day was seamless. From fitting life jackets to providing meals and keepsakes, every detail was handled with care, making the day not just enjoyable but also safe for all involved.

  Families shared their gratitude for the volunteers and boat owners who made the day possible. “We went on a pontoon boat with John, and he even let the kids drive! It was so exciting for them,” said Georgia Smith, who attended with her children, Mackenzie and Hunter.

  Another family, the Ryans, expressed how their low-verbal son, Tim, spelled out “I HAD A BLAST” on his letterboard after his ride, proof of the profound impact of the experience.

  Sherer’s Marina and J3 Marine provided their facilities, while the Barnegat Police, Quality Ambulance, and numerous volunteers worked tirelessly to support the event. An overall count amounted to 45 volunteers on land and 14 volunteer boat captains.

  Jackstadt said that 26 donors ranging from individuals to local companies and non-profits donated to make the event possible.

  “Big thanks to Sherer’s Marina and J3 Marine for use of the marina and help with everything marina/dock related,” said Jackstadt. “We’d also like to express our gratitude to Charlene Station and the Lunch Wagon for hot dogs.”

  “As always, Barnegat Police was a great partner in providing traffic assistance and an identi-kid station,” Jackstadt added. “We also appreciate Quality Ambulance for being on stand-by throughout the event and Barnegat Township for insuring us and providing assistance.”

  The history of Day on the Bay dates back several years, born from Barnegat resident Walt Fernandez’s desire to share the joy of boating with those who had never experienced it. What started as a simple idea grew into an eagerly anticipated tradition, bringing happiness to hundreds each year.

Frenzied bonito bite after ocean settles from Hurricane Ernesto's swells

The bonito were in a frenzied mood on Monday, the day after Hurricane Ernesto's swells had mostly cleared out.

The fish were not far from the inlets. Capt. Cole Riback on Queen Mary party fishing boat said they got to them after a short, five mile ride to the northeast from Manasquan Inlet. The bonito were running with the bluefish, as they have been for the past couple of weeks.

Riback had the boat on the drift and said they were covered over in both fish. His fares landed their limit of bluefish by mid-morning the fishing was that fast paced. It was all jig fishing. Anglers could land them on AVA size 017 jigs but the epoxy jigs were the most effective tackle, said Capt. Dave Riback, who was also on the boat with his son.

Dave Riback said some of the more experienced fishermen were catching the bonito with JYG bucktails. The bonito fishing is good enough that the Queen Mary will be running special trips for them on Thursdays that depart from the dock at 5:30 a.m.

Capt. Ryan Boagn on the Jamaica II party fishing boat had some keeper fluke in the boat by mid-morning on Monday but the swells from the storm were still effecting the drifts.

Ernesto, which had powered backup to Hurricane strength on Monday as it tracked toward Canada, sent some waves to the coast when it passed offshore of New Jersey as a tropical storm. The swells starting rolling in on Saturday and some of the captains out of Manasquan Inlet came in early to avoid a churned up inlet created by the shoal on the Point Pleasant Beach side.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dredge boat Murden was working in the inlet on Sunday as it continues to dig out the sand built up. No boats sailed out of Manasquan Inlet on Sunday but boats did make it out elsewhere on the coast. The Golden Eagle party boat out of Belmar fished Sunday and saw very good action from the bonito and blues. Capt. Rich Falcone also reported a catch of a king mackerel and a cobia.

The Coast Guard assisted in the rescue of two individuals that got trapped on the Barnegat Inlet south jetty during the high tide in the late afternoon, early evening hours on Sunday. Petty Officer Christopher Bokum said a helicopter that was dispatched from the Atlantic City station was able to hoist the individuals off the inlet and deliver them safely to shore. Bokum said the two were checked out by local first aid and he said no serious injuries were reported.

British tech magnate Mike Lynch, 5 others missing after luxury superyacht sinks off Sicily

ROME -- British tech magnate Mike Lynch and five other people were missing after their luxury superyacht sank during a freak storm off Sicily early Monday, Italy's civil protection and authorities said. Lynch's wife and 14 other people survived.

Lynch, who was acquitted in June in a big U.S. fraud trial, was among six people who remain unaccounted for after their chartered sailboat sank off Porticello, near Palermo, sometime after 4 a.m. A tornado over the water known as a waterspout had struck the area overnight, said Salvo Cocina of Sicily's civil protection agency.

One body was recovered, and police divers spent the day trying to reach the hull of the ship, which was resting at a depth of 50 meters (163 feet) off Porticello where it had been anchored, rescue authorities said. They returned to the site after 10 p.m. to see if it would be possible to search through the night, when weather conditions were expected to worsen, said Luca Cari, spokesman of the fire rescue service.

The ship had a crew of 10 people and 12 passengers, the Italian coast guard said. A sudden fierce storm had battered the area overnight, and a waterspout struck precisely where the 56-meter (184-foot) British-flagged Bayesian had been moored.

"They were in the wrong place at the wrong time," said Cocina, noting that another big ship nearby, the Sir Robert Baden Powell, wasn't as badly damaged and helped rescue the 15 survivors - including Lynch's wife, Angela Bacares.

The Bayesian was notable for its single 75-meter (246-feet) mast - one of the world's tallest made of aluminum and which was lit up at night, just hours before it sank. Online charter sites listed it for rent for up to 195,000 euros (about $215,000) a week.

One of the survivors, identified as Charlotte Golunski, said she momentarily lost hold of her 1-year-old daughter Sofia in the water, but then managed to hold her up over the waves until a lifeboat inflated and they were both pulled to safety, Italian news agency ANSA reported. The father, identified by ANSA as James Emslie, also survived, said Cocina.

Karsten Borner, the captain of the Sir Robert Baden Powell, said he had noticed the Bayesian nearby during the storm but after it calmed he saw a red flare and realized the ship had simply disappeared, ANSA and the Giornale di Sicilia newspaper reported. Borner said he and a crew member boarded their tender and found a lifeboat with 15 people, some of them injured, who they then took aboard and alerted the coast guard.

Eight of those rescued were hospitalized while the others were taken to a hotel. One body believed to be the cook was found near the wreck, but six others were unaccounted for and believed inside the hull, said Cari, the fire rescue spokesperson.

The rescue operations, which were visible from shore, involved helicopters and rescue boats from the coast guard, fire rescue and civil protection service.

Fisherman Fabio Cefal ù said he had seen a flare from shore at around 4:30 a.m. and immediately set out to the site but by the time he got there, the Bayesian had already sunk, with only cushions, wood and other items from the superyacht floating in the water.

"But for the rest, we didn't find anyone," he said from the port hours later. He said that he immediately alerted the coast guard and stayed on-site for three hours, but didn't find any survivors. "I think they are inside, all the missing people."

He said he had been up early to check the weather to see if he could go fishing, and surmised that a sudden waterspout had struck the yacht.

"It could be that the mast broke, or the anchor at the prow pulled it, I don't know," he said.

Cocina said the crew and passengers hailed from a variety of countries: In addition to Britain and the United States, passengers and crew were from Antigua, France, Germany, Ireland, Myanmar, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Spain, he said.

The UK Marine Accident Investigation Branch is deploying a team of four inspectors to Italy to conduct a preliminary assessment. The Foreign Commonwealth and Development office said it was "providing consular support to a number of British nationals and their families."

Dutch foreign ministry spokesperson Casper Soetekouw said the lone Dutch citizen on board, a man, had been rescued and was not in life-threatening condition.

Lynch, once hailed as Britain's king of technology, was cleared in June of fraud and conspiracy charges related to Hewlett Packard's $11 billion takeover of his company, Autonomy Corp.

The not guilty verdicts followed an 11-week criminal trial in San Francisco that delved into the history of HP's 2011 acquisition of Autonomy, a business software firm founded by Lynch.

The fraud accusations represented a dramatic turn in the fortunes of an entrepreneur once described as the Bill Gates of Britain - a title he seemed to live up to when he netted an $800 million from the Autonomy sale.

The acquittal vindicated Lynch, who had vehemently denied wrong doing and portrayed HP as a technological train wreck.

"I'm looking forward to returning the UK and getting back to what I love most: my family and innovating in my field," Lynch said in a statement released after the verdict.

The yacht, built in 2008 by the Italian firm Perini Navi, can accommodate 12 passengers in four double cabins, a triple and the master suite, plus crew accommodations, according to Charter World and Yacht Charters.

The vessel, which previously was named Salute when it flew under a Dutch flag, featured a sleek, minimalist interior of light wood with Japanese accents designed by the French designer Remi Tessier, according to descriptions and photos on the charter sites.
