Amber Lounge Returns to Monte Carlo for the 2024 Monaco F1 Grand Prix

From yachts to exclusive parties, it’s set to be a weekend of glitz and glamour

The Monaco F1 Grand Prix has long been the most exciting race weekend on the annual F1 calendar. It’s also arguably the most glamorous, thanks in part to the events and parties that happen around the race track. This year is set to be no different.

Amber Lounge is one of the longest-standing and most recognised names on the F1 after-party circuit. Known for throwing star-studded soirees during race weekends around the world, the company is headed back to Monte Carlo for the 2024 edition, taking place from 24-26 May.

In honour of its 20-year anniversary, Amber Lounge has a special line-up of events planned around the municipality.

This year, the lounge will host its after-race parties at Le Méridien Beach Plaza , the only hotel in the city with a private beach and tender access to the race circuit. There, Amber Lounge will create a bespoke pop-up club with performances and DJ sets from headliners DJ Jax Jones, singer Hannah Boleyn and rapper Fatman Scoop, among other special guests.

“Bringing together F1 drivers, celebrities, royalty and movie stars against the backdrop of the Côte D’Azur, guests will be taken on a multi-sensorial journey – an extraordinary, timeless scene that evokes Hollywood glamour and evolves into a high-energy production until the early hours of the morning,” organisers reveal.

During the day, the company will throw viewing parties onboard 30-metre superyacht Mac One , an elegant vessel built at  Ferretti Group ’s Custom Line yard. From the yacht’s spacious decks, guests will enjoy front-row seats to the motoring action and indulge in fine hospitality.

A one-day race viewing onboard Amber Lounge’s yacht is priced at €850 per person for Friday May 24, €2,000 for Saturday 25 (qualifying), and €3,500 on Sunday 26 (race day), with offers available for multi-day passes. Meanwhile, after-party access is priced at €600 for Saturday and €800 for Sunday.

Monaco Grand Prix: Amber Lounge to celebrate 20th anniversary 

The iconic afterparty venue will be uncorking the champagne in an envied superyacht trackside spot, back where it began, in Monaco.

This year, Amber Lounge is back where it began in Monaco, to celebrate twenty years of providing Grand Prix entertainment, with spectacular superyacht trackside viewing and race afterparties in store. 

Originally created to provide a post-race destination for drivers and the elite, Amber Lounge Monaco became a pioneer of Grand Prix party culture around the world. Now, on qualifying and race nights, a “highly curated, experiential nightclub concept” provides endless free flowing Champagne for all, immersive entertainment, unexpected surprises and famous performers – from Kylie Minogue to Fatman Scoop. 

In addition to the well-known F1 drivers, Amber Lounge has expanded over the intervening two decades to welcome the rich and famous, attracting a star-studded guest list, wherever the race is being held. With, of course, the unique ‘plus’ of superyacht trackside entertainment when it comes to Monaco on the Grand Prix weekend. 

Where to enjoy Monaco Grand Prix, if not in the stands

With “luxury tender transfers, an all-day open bar, free flowing Champagne and cocktails, Mediterranean lunch buffets, and live DJ mixes for all three days,” you can watch all the practice, qualifying and race action in style.

On  Friday 24 May , an exclusive on-board party will celebrate th e start of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend . The qualifying and F1 race afterparties on  Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May will be held in a reimagined, bespoke pop-up club on the terrace of Le Méridien Beach Plaza  – the only hotel in Monte-Carlo with its own private beach and direct tender access to the track.

Amber Lounge: The world’s most exclusive Grand Prix After Party returns to Monaco, bigger and better than ever before!

Amber Lounge, the Monaco Grand Prix’s legendary After Party event is back with three party nights on Friday May 26 th , Saturday May 27 th and Sunday May 28 th .

The weekend starts onboard the Amber Lounge Luxury Trackside Yacht at the famous Tabac Corner of the F1 Monaco Grand Prix Circuit – experience the adrenaline of the race up-close. THE AMBER LOUNGE'S GUIDE TO MONACO

I instantly fell in love with Monaco the first moment I saw it. Although, I have to say that the sun and sea played a major role. The Principality changes constantly. Whether it is new shopping venues, restaurants or buildings, there is always something to talk about. Starting from the Grand Prix weekend in May, Monaco is a hive of activity and the fun doesn’t stop until October.

Monaco may be small, but it has so many areas to discover. There is the Rock, a tall monolith that juts out into the ocean and is the home to the Old Town, which is the most authentic part of the city. You can wind your way among the medieval streets and when the sun goes down, you can almost hear a pin drop, it’s that quiet. Then there’s the port, which I always think of as special because it represents Formula 1 to me, and there’s also the Casino de Monte-Carlo , which everyone needs to visit because it is one of the most iconic places in Monaco.

Monaco is known for its glitz – the Methuselah bottles scattered around the Amber Lounge during the F1 weekend are testament to that. It’s not unusual to find VIPs and celebrity guests dancing on the sofas at the Amber Lounge – or in the case of one of our A-list guests, launching themselves from the dance podium onto the sofa head first.

The Monaco race in the crown jewel of every Formula 1 calendar, it’s just the most glamorous, it doesn’t have to try it just is! That’s why I decided to launch the first Amber Lounge party in Monaco.

If you’re looking for somewhere to rest your head during the F1 weekend, I’d recommend Le Méridien Beach Plaza. This glamorous art-filled hotel, which has the mountains of Monaco as its backdrop, offers uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean Sea. It’s my favourite because not only does it have its own private beach, but it offers direct access to Amber Lounge!

You could enjoy breakfast in the hotel, or if you want to enjoy a late-morning bite and do a little people watching, take a seat on the terrace at Café De Paris on the legendary Place du Casino – there’s always so much going on.

While you’re waiting for the race to start you should take a tour of Monte Carlo. The new Monaco Modern Art museum is definitely not to be missed when you visit Monaco, and neither is the Oceanographic Museum , which is amazing. The Oceanographic Museum is closed during the F1 weekend, but if you arrive a little earlier, it’s more than worth a visit. Housed in a historic building lit by crystal chandeliers, it’s one of the most beautiful museums in the world.

For lunch I would go to Maya Bay to enjoy a delicious Thai or Japanese gourmet cuisine, or you could take a trip to La Saliere in Fontvielle Port if you want to see a few F1 drivers …..

If you’re looking for a party outfit for the F1 weekend, you could visit the Avenue de Monte-Carlo. Here you’ll find Hermes, Prada, Gucci and Valentino. It has all the best shops for women, believe me!

The best place to watch the race itself is from the Amber Lounge yacht! Not only you can watch the race, but you get to meet F1 drivers and celebrities.

After you have seen the teams cross the line, you could head to the Buddha Bar . The crowd is good there…. and they do a great Kir Royale.

If you didn’t stop at La Saliere for lunch, you could book a table there for dinner. You can’t go wrong with the fish and grilled vegetables – all very healthy. Then if you’re looking to place a small bet before you catch the flight home, visit the Casino de Monte-Carlo. It’s a must-go in Monaco!

The weekend starts onboard the Amber Lounge Luxury Trackside Yacht – experience the adrenaline of the race up close. Just a handful of tickets remain for the three days and nights of Amber Lounge events that, for 20 years, have dominated as the to-go after parties for Formula 1 drivers and Grand Prix fans alike.  

It was in Monaco that the concept of Amber Lounge first saw the light. Now two decades on and with a fresh new team and vision, the signature “After Party” host is organising up a storm of stellar events from Friday 26 th  to Sunday 28 th  May.   

The action kicks off on the Friday aboard a luxury 30-metre yacht moored on the Tabac corner of the famous circuit. Guests at this €650 per person experience will enjoy the adrenaline of a race just getting warmed up alongside an all-open day and Mediterranean buffet lunch.  

Things will heat up further as the sun sets with a series of DJ performances from stars such as DJ Tom Jagger, DJ PHB and English house band the Goodboys.   

The yacht will remain in place throughout the weekend of racing, although prices increase to €3,500 per person for prime track viewing on the Sunday.   

LUXE TAKE ON CLUBBING AT THE GRIMALDI FORUM

Saturday and Sunday will see the party brand take over the Grimaldi Forum for two wild nights of world class entertainment and VIP appearances. Fatman Scoop, a longtime Amber Lounge figure head performer, will provide the soundtrack for Saturday night in addition to another set from the Goodboys. Tickets are in short supply and start at €600.

Formerly known as Sporty Spice, Melanie C will be in the house on Sunday for an exclusive DJ set. Tickets for Sunday begin at €800 per person.   

Amber Lounge has described the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix as “bigger and better than ever before”, while Kimi Räikkönen has enthused the quality of its after parties as “only place to celebrate with friends and team members”.

Even in its 33rd year, Monaco Yacht Show continues to break its own milestones.

The principality of Monaco has a calendar that’s filled with major events. While the financial benefits of this little tax haven ensure its population remains fairly well stocked with super-rich and socialites year-round, it’s these events that truly bring the masses. April calls for the tennis at The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters; in May it’s time for the Formula One Grand Prix ; June brings the world-famous car show Top Marques ; and summer draws to a close with perhaps the most glam of the bunch, the Monaco Yacht Show, which this year falls on September 25 – 28.

For those interested in gazing upon some of the finest yachts that can be found anywhere in the world, Monaco ’s Port Hercules is a pretty good spot year-round, but for the weekend of the Monaco Yacht Show, things enter a different league.

The Monaco Yacht Show is essentially a gathering of the global superyacht community. From owners to innovators, manufacturers and brokers, all head to the principality. Each year, builders and brokers present around 120 superyachts and 60 luxury tenders , with many of these reflecting current industry trends and revealing the potential future direction of the industry. These vessels boast an average length of around 160 ft, with a sprinkling of superyachts that top the 320 ft mark – with this year’s headliner clocking in at 400 ft.

Aside from the yachts themselves, visitors can expect countless designers improving yacht interiors and engineers working to ensure the industry becomes more sustainable. There’s sure to be a lot going on.

So ahead of this year’s event, Elite Traveler has looked into which yachts will be on display at Port Hercules and curated a list of some of the show’s unmissable vessels. So blow the dust off your Panama hat and add a few zeros to your credit card limit, because these are some of the biggest, boldest and most expensive boats attending the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show.

H3: The Market’s Most Expensive Superyacht Debuts a New Design

The undisputed biggest headline of this year’s show – in every sense of the word – Lürssen’s Kismet will be the largest yacht to go on display in Port Hercules. While the previous title holder was another from Lürssen, the 377.6-ft Ahpo, the Kismet takes its victory by a considerable mile, clocking in at 400 ft. Previously known as Project Jag, the Kisamet was handed over to owner Shahid Khan in May 2024, making it one of the show’s newest deliveries, too. 

With exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard and naval architecture by Lürssen Yachts along with Reymond Langton Design working on the yacht’s interiors , Kismet is decked out with a helipad, beauty salon, indoor and outdoor cinema, dance floor and gym. Perhaps unsurprising, but all this makes Kisamet one of the most expensive yachts to charter , too, asking for €3m (approx. $3.4m) per week with Cecil Wright & Partners.

Delivered in 2019 by SilverYachts and refitted in 2024, the almost 280-ft, self-described ‘sports activity vessel’ Bold takes center stage at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Designers Espen Øino created the superyacht’s striking, military-inspired exterior, creating a unique glass-enclosed loft on the upper deck that covers over 3,200 sq-ft of interior space. Meanwhile, Vain Interiors has created an opulent, New York-style loft, which is built to accommodate up to 12 overnight guests in eight luxurious staterooms and can carry up to 96 passengers while cruising.

With a a huge selection of water toys, a vast outdoor entertaining area with a bar and Teppanyaki grill, a cinema, an eight-person hot tub and a lounge surrounding a firepit, it’s no surprise that the Bold is a popular charter yacht, with Holl Robinson asking €875,000 ($972, 800) per week. 

Following an extensive, three-year rebuild, the most expensive superyacht on the market has returned to Port Hercules for 2024, complete with a new look – and price tag, too, asking for €295m ($328m). The 344.5-ft Oceanco H3 superyacht has already picked up a handful of international awards for the new look and is expected to impress many fans at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. 

In addition to the extra 10 meters that were added to the H3 ’s hull, the rebuild – from the likes of Reymond Langton Design, which worked on both the exterior and interior redesign, and the collaboration between Lateral Naval Architects and Oceanco on its naval architecture – also saw a pool deck, huge spa and wellness area and climate-controlled winter garden added to H3 ’s numerous amenities.

With its distinctive, shark-like exterior design, the 295-ft superyacht DAR will be hard not to miss at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Built by Oceanco with exteriors designed by Luiz de Basto Design, the glossy black silhouette was inspired by the look of the hammerhead shark, with sinuous lines, wide set wing stations and a mast modeled after a dorsal fin. 

Meanwhile, renowned Italy-based studio Nuvolari & Lenard has crafted swooping, contemporary interiors. DAR’s impressive features include a complete owner’s deck, complete with a private salon and jacuzzi, a wellness area, an impressive beach club, and two helipads for private use. Despite only hitting the waters in June this year, the first wallywind110, Galma , is set to make its global debut at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Measuring almost 110 ft, Galma ’s naval architecture comes from German studio judel/vrolijk & co while interior and exterior lines are designed by Wally in collaboration with Santa Maria Magnolfi. With a design that offers the comfort of a cruising yacht while maintaining the performance of a racing boat, Galma is characterized by the 22.6-ft telescopic keel and an all-carbon hull that has been painted in light metallic blue.

Other highlights of Galma include an 860-sq-ft full-beam cockpit with seating and dining for up to 15 people, as well as an open-plan raised saloon. Galma can accommodate up to eight guests overnight, with five crew members.

The 400-foot-long Kismet embarks on her maiden voyage in the Med

When it comes to exclusive enclaves, it’s pretty hard to compete with Monaco. The world’s elite flock to the tiny principality on the French Rivera for its sunny weather, sophisticated hotels and casinos, spectacular shopping and other financial reasons. They love to drive their fast cars down the famous roads leading into the city, and they love the speed and power of the legendary Monaco Grand Prix, too.

But as for the absolute pinnacle of luxury, it doesn’t get much better than owning a superyacht. And for the select few who happen to be shopping for a superyacht, there’s one place to see nearly all of the best, and biggest, and most technologically advanced yachts that money can buy (in addition to the tenders, and limousines, and private submarines, and luxury cars that go along with a superyacht) in one place: The Monaco Yacht Show , which starts next week.

Renaissance is massive

During the show, the docks of Monaco’s famous port are always filled with numerous yachts longer than 250 feet. But this year, the largest superyacht in the show is 400 feet long! And lots of superyachts in the 300-foot-long range will be there, too.

So, if you are lucky enough to be in Monaco later this month, I’ll see you there. But if you not, here’s a sneak peek at the five largest yachts that will be on display.

Kismet underway

What can I say about the 400-foot-long Kismet (which was built by Lürssen , features an exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard and an interior design by Reymond Langton Design and is available for charter with Cecil Wright ) that can help you understand just how big a 400-foot-long superyacht is? How about, since it measures 40 feet longer than an American football field (including the end zones), it’s safe to say that Kismet would only just barely fit inside the Jacksonville Jaguars EverBank Stadium. And that’s only if it could somehow be lowered from the top with a crane!

But since these photos and that explanation can’t really convey just how big Shaid Kahn ’s (the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars) new 400-foot-long superyacht is...The only way you’ll really be able to understand just how big the Jacksonville Jaguars owner’s new yacht is to see it for yourself in Monaco next week. It’s going to be largest yacht at the show and has raised the bar on what’s possible when it comes to designing, building, owning and chartering the largest yachts in the world.

And since Kismet has already spent her first season in the Mediterranean and is available for charter through Cecil Wright (instead of being hidden away for a private owner like many yachts in this size range are), you, too, could experience what it’s like to live the superyacht life aboard one of the largest and most opulent vessels in the world.

So, if you looking for a charter yacht that costs roughly $3 million per week, the Monaco Yacht Show will be the place where you can see just how opulent Kismet (and theses other superyachts too) for yourself.

‘Renaissance’

The 367-foot-long, 7,200-gross ton, Bannenberg & Rowell -designed Renaissance is um, a “really big superyacht.” But what intrigues me the most is that unlike most superyachts that can only accommodate 12 guests per charter, Renaissance has been designed to swaddle 36 guests in superyacht luxury.

As you’d imagine, this yacht has it all. Open-air dining on five decks and a dining room with 18-foot-tall ceilings on the main deck. A sushi bar. A pizza oven by the huge pool. And of course, the requisite DJ stations when it’s time to party. There’s also a massive cinema that has seating 19 guests on lower deck—the perfect place to just Netflix-n-chill.

The all-new exterior lines of Oceanco H3

I’ve seen lots of superyacht designs come to life thanks to the hard work, dedication, perseverance and love that the large fraternity of superyacht designers, builders, artists and countless others pour into every spectacular new yacht that gets launched.

The rebuilt Oceanco H3 got a "rockstar" relaunch.

But I must admit, after seeing the 344-foot-long Oceanco -built (and rebuilt) H3 (first launched in 2000) emerge after an intensive 3-year-rebuild, I’m at a loss for words. I’m in awe, actually. Because after spending time at Oceanco with the project team and the owner's representative , I understand why this project is way more than just a refit.

It’s been transformed into a brand-new yacht with every modern comfort, but also retains its…soul.

The sustainability impact of this project is also pretty awe-inspiring to me, too. According to Oceanco’s team of engineers, simply using an existing hull instead of building an brand-new one resulted in a 50% reduction of carbon emissions for the build. And since H3 has been repowered with smaller yet much more efficient engines (and her top speed has been reduced slightly), the yacht burns much less fuel than she previously did as well. Delivery time was reduced by 25% as well, and hopefully we see more projects take this approach in the future.

Amels Full Custom ENERGY will be at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show

The 255-foot-long Amels full-custom yacht ENERGY was created by exterior designer Espen Øino and interior designer Francois Zuretti to provide unapparelled luxury and access to the water.

The top deck’s helipad forward is a versatile space outside heliops—sun lounge, al fresco yoga studio with wraparound ocean views, a space for elevated entertainment served by the statement bar...assorted lounging areas and dayhead inside. The jacuzzi and sun pads aft allow guests to bask in the sun.

The bridge deck music lounge is designed for acoustic excellence. There is a Steinway baby grand piano and marble-topped bar.
