The RJ line is a testament to our unwavering commitment to evolution in yacht design. Unlike the traditional notion of explorer yachts which tend to prioritize rugged functionality and utilitarian aspects, the RJ line seamlessly merges the spirit of exploration with the elegance of high-end luxury.

This achievement highlights our dedication to pushing boundaries of what a yacht can be, creating new categories that reimagine the possibility for contemporary yachting.

Yacht Features

A pure explorer

While featuring a “white-yacht” and sporty look the RJ is a CDM vessel of the best breed: built in steel and aluminum, 12 mm thick keel plate, independent rudders, overengineered ship systems and back up pumps, well equipped navigation and communication package, plenty of storage aboard, ocean crossings capabilities and range.

The crane is located on sun deck aft, away from the entertainment area and concealed under a hatch with hydraulic opening. It can lift tender up to 2 Tons, measuring a length in excess of 6 meters and located underneath on upper deck aft. This solution brings several advantages: it frees the area usually occupied by the tender in the garage, which can therefore be employed for a different use like for example beach club, dive centre, water toys storage etc… It means for the guests to benefit of a larger tender in comparison with the ones find on the garages of yacht of the same size. It’s invisible to the guests and conceals to their view a mechanical part which would spoil an entertainment area.

The glass is one of the main protagonists of the design of the RJ. It certainly contributes to lighten the vessel volume and to light up his interiors. By using glass in conjunction with the structural elements of the boat, it also pleases the guests with the view of the sea even in situations where wouldn’t have been possible: the upper deck side walls of the sky-lounge are made of floor-to- ceiling glasses. The main salon windows are dimensioned in a way that a seated guest can look outside. The side bulwarks along the port and starboard walkaway are recessed and fitted with glasses. As a final touch and as a testament of designer’s attention to details, the backrest of the settee in the aft main deck cockpit has a glass recess that permits the guest seated in front to enjoy the sea-view.

The RJ boasts a second salon whose size is comparable to the main salon on main deck. This plus comes at no compromises with the other areas on the same the deck, which include a vast aft cockpit and a forward lounge, a day head, the captain cabin and his dedicated office and the renowned well equipped and functional wheelhouse.

Exterior area

A total of 200 square meters of exterior entertainment area is available to the guests and spread over three decks. The surface is all cladded with 15 mm Burmese teak, and mixes shaded area with open air ones. The outfitting of all exterior area is completed with custom pool, sunbeds with underneath ventilated storage, furniture and appliances.

Francesco, you are one of the most successful and talented Yacht Designer worldwide and you have worked for the best companies of the yachting industry: what is your first impression after having started this cooperation with CdM? MG 129’s owner had precise ideas how his yacht should look like and Cantiere delle Marche always made the most to combine her owner’s wishes and the design issues with technical aspects. We can really say a perfect team work has been created among all people working at this yacht.

The Project MG is the result of time and energies spent together with the CdM team and the Owner. How difficult is to deal with all parties involved and create the perfect synthesis? Has the renown quality of processes, passion and flexibility of CdM, together with the professionalism of CNI New Build Dept helped so far? A good result – a good yacht – is always the result of a perfect team work. It’s essential. We had already worked with MG 129’s owner at another yacht and we were confident we could meet his wishes for his new boat. Although It’s our first experience with CdM team, a very good relationship has been established from the very first day. It was an easy start and it’s going on better and better. It looks like we have been working together since longer. CdM experience together with CNI New Build Dept contributed effectively to solve a couple of aspects of the process.

Could you tell us more about the Project Mg 129? What was the brief and what is your aim with this stunning design? The owner brief was for an explorer with large social spaces both inside and outside, offering a close contact to the sea in order to enjoy his - and his guests– staying on board during longtime cruising everywhere. Lot of storage for toys was also requested. We focused on combining the essence of an explorer with peculiar features in terms of comfort and liveability to design the yacht her owner is expecting.

Tabella di marcia serratissima in questi giorni per il Cantiere Nautico Cranchi SpA di Piantedo , eccellenza della nautica italiana che per la stagione nautica 2024-2025 è presente ai grandi Saloni nautici internazionali di settembre a Cannes, Genova, Monaco e Friedrichshafen.

Paola Cranchi «Siamo altamente industrializzati e tecnologici»

Due le anteprime mondiali di nuovi modelli presentati in questi giorni a Cannes 2024: il “Sessantasette 67 Corda” e il “Sessantadue 62”.

Punto di riferimento

Paola Cranchi, head of communications, sottolinea che Cranchi Yachts è un brand italiano solido che da sempre è sinonimo di eccellenza tecnologica nel mondo della nautica e prosegue la sua attività in modo indipendente dal 1970. «Gli Yachts Cranchi – afferma - sono il risultato di un processo produttivo altamente industrializzato e tutti quanti sono un punto di riferimento nelle rispettive categorie: flybridge, Hard Top, Corsa, Luxury Tender, sportcruiser e daycruiser».

L’imprenditrice ricorda che «la strategia della società di famiglia è sempre stata quella di continuare ad investire per crescere come fatto nelle stagioni passate e siamo molto determinati ad aumentare i nostri fatturati». Nel valutare l’andamento del mercato di settore Cranchi afferma che l’azienda sta «andando ben e, ma è meglio dirlo sottovoce ed attendiamo la fine del mese di settembre, quando tutti i Saloni si chiuderanno, per analizzare la situazione reale in merito all’andamento dei nostri mercati. A quel punto sapremo come sta effettivamente andando il mercato». Per la stagione 2024-2025 la scelta per l’azienda che oggi conta circa 200 dipendenti è quella di consolidare i fatturati (circa 90 milioni di euro) raggiunti in precedenza e ciò perché «abbiamo bisogno di manodopera, con relativi profili indicati nel nostro sito alla sezione “lavora con noi”. Manodopera alla quale dovremo poi trasferire le competenze tecniche per costruire le imbarcazioni e quindi questo non ci ha permette al momento di incremento del nostro fatturato.

Gli investimenti continui in ricerca e innovazione hanno permesso all’azienda straordinari rinnovamenti di gamma e ciò, aggiunge Cranchi, «ci ha permesso negli anni, di confermare e innalzare ulteriormente gli standard di sicurezza, comfort, qualità e design che hanno permesso ai nostri yacht di distinguersi nel mondo».

In tale ottica ha preso il via sette anni fa la collaborazione con Christian Grande, nome di punta dello yacht design internazionale, «una partnership che ha regalato agli appassionati di nautica e alla nostra rete di vendita dei modelli senza tempo: nuovi nelle linee, nei layout, nel decor e nel design. Una collaborazione da cui sono nati, oltre alle due anteprime citate, E 26 Classic & E 26 Rider, Cranchi Settantotto 78 e Cranchi Sessantasette 67.

Nel corso degli ultimi anni – conclude Cranchi - abbiamo inoltre aumentato il nostro pacchetto di servizi alla clientela inserendo nella nostra offerta anche un centro refitting già funzionante, ora al secondo anno, nel Tirreno. Siamo nel Golfo di Olbia ed offriamo un pacchetto di servizi per la cura dell’imbarcazione oltre al rimessaggio invernale, in aggiunta ad altri servizi a firma Cranchi. L’eccellenza insieme al rinnovamento hanno creato futuro per questa azienda. Un mix perfetto per riuscire ad attrarre nuovi mercati e nuovi clienti. Insieme a design e tecnologia, anno dopo anno – conclude l’imprenditrice - abbiamo riconquistato quote di mercato che erano poco attive e abbiamo creato nuovi mercati».

First look: Inside 62m CRN superyacht Rio

Italian shipyard CRN , a brand of Ferretti Group, has unveiled the first images of its 62 metre superyacht Rio ahead of her premiere appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show 2022.

Delivered in May , Rio was designed by CRN in partnership with Omega Architects and is the first collaboration between the pair since the 73 metre Yalla in 2014.

The yacht was built under the management of TWW Yachts and is a full-custom build with a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and  "supremely sporty" exterior that’s defined by a near-vertical bow, gentle arches in the superstructure and long lines of glazing.

Pulina Exclusive Interiors has helmed the yacht’s interior styling. Natural light is a key design point on board, and the Italian design studio ensured a bright and airy ambience with far-ranging views available across her decks.

This is particularly notable in the “luminious” main saloon, which the yard has described as a "single eye-catching space encapsulating all the elements of style that define the yacht's design."

The yacht follows a contemporary, yet playful theme that appeals to all generations. The designers haven’t shied away from vibrant colours and tropical patterns, fulfilling the owner’s request for  “bright, colourful spaces and a happy atmosphere for the younger family members to enjoy”.

A high level of detail is evident across the yacht's spaces, with hand-painted panels in the owner’s lobby, custom artworks in the saloon and a bar made from a slab of highly sought-after Azul Macauba marble that welcomes guests as they step in from the exterior decks.

Elsewhere, the design team has used a mix of white lacquered oak, delicate cotton wallpaper and warm Crema d’Orcia limestone to add character to the contrast. In the central lobby, a staircase made of bleached pickled oak and ice-white leather takes pride of place.

Pops of seafoam green and fuschia pink make an appearance on board Rio , but crisp blues and sharp navy maintain an air of sophistication throughout.

Alongside the “palatial” main saloon, guests will find a bespoke round drum table that seats up to eight and an American bar that blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests across one owner’s suite and five guest cabins. These are comprised of two full-beam VIPs – one on the main deck forward, the other on the lower deck - and three suites on the lower deck. There are also nine cabins for the 15 crew.

The owner’s suite has been conceived as a “haven of privacy”, which offers 180-degree views and private amenities including a study area with a desk that can be rotated 90 degrees. The suite also benefits from a freestanding bathtub that allows the vistas to be soaked up from the comfort of a bath.

At the bow, an open-air lounge, spanning 115 square metres, is directly accessed from the master cabin. Here, the owner or principal charterer can make full use of a recessed dip pool during the day, or turn it into a dancefloor by nightfall.

One of the yacht’s clever design twists is the mooring area below the owner’s deck, which has been created so that crew completely avoid the owner’s private spaces when they require access.

Tender storage is located in the foredeck, where there is space for two jet skis, a collection of toys and an 8-metre 8-metre Pascoe Beachlander tender. A second tender of almost 5 metres is on hand for the rescue, and there is also a 14 - meter SACS Rebel 47 tender chase boat in her arsenal.

In terms of wellness, Rio plays host to a Hamman, shower and fully-equipped gym. Adjoining this area is a multi-purpose waterfront lounge area with a TV that doubles as a whiteboard for games and other entertainment.

The yacht has a top speed of 15 knots and cruises at 12 knots, powered by her twin Caterpillar engines. The yacht is IMO Tier III-certified1, assuring drastic reductions of 70% in harmful emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the engine exhaust, according to the yard.

Four fully custom yachts are currently under construction at the CRN shipyard: the 72 metre CRN 139 , 60 metre CRN 141 , 52  67 metre CRN 143, and the recently launched 52 metre superyacht Ciao .

The award winning 62m/203'5" motor yacht 'Rio' was built by CRN in Italy at their Ancona shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Pulina Exclusive Interiors and she was delivered to her owner in May 2022. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Omega Architects.

Rio has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising two VIP cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 15 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

Rio is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512C ACERT) 1,649hp engines running at 1800rpm, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 15 knots with a range of up to 4,500 nautical miles from her 140,000 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. Her water tanks store around 30,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register ✠ 100A1 SSC Yacht, Mono, G6 ✠ LMC, UMS classification society rules.
