The year-long refit was carried out in the new shed at Feadship’s Amsterdam yard. The work was, of course, finished to the Dutch builder’s exacting standards. First up, Callisto received major technical improvements and a full service. She was repainted from hull to mast and all exterior teak was revarnished. Her awnings were also replaced and her passerelle was overhauled.

In addition, a variety of furnishings were replaced to create a more contemporary feel. The layout of the 1,306 GT interior has not changed, and for good reason. You’ll find a sprawling main salon, a large dining room and a spacious upper deck salon for entertaining, as well as six staterooms for 12 guests and cabins for 16 crew. Located on the main deck, the luxe full-beam owner’s suite comes with a large office, a day room, his and hers en suites and a walk-in dressing room.

Other highlights of Callisto include a well-equipped gym, a generous sundeck with a dip pool and a fold-out swim platform. The yacht is also equipped with a garage that can hold two large Hinkley tenders (29 and 26 feet), an 18-foot Castoldi, a Zodiac 420 rescue boat and other toys. Callisto is no slouch on the water, either, with two 2,000 hp Caterpillar engines giving the vessel a top speed of 16 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of 3,500 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Motor Yacht

Superyacht Callisto is a testament to intelligent design. Merging classic style with modern flair, the 65 metre superyacht Callisto was launched in 2006 by Feadship in The Netherlands. Designed inside and out by Terence Disdale, with De Voogt Naval Architects working on the engineering and architecture package, Callisto was custom-built to provide everything an owner could ask for while providing a deceptive amount of space.

This superyacht is a vessel of understated sophistication, with subtle design elements which create the ideal life on the water.  The Terence Disdale interior is a subtle statement of style and comfort, while her exterior spaces offer al-fresco dining - enhanced by a MIchelen star chef on board - and the upper decks providing a more informal experience.

Her giant sundeck features Jacuzzi, boundless furniture to relax with friends or sunbathe, while her garage offers toys and tenders to get up close and personal with the water. Callisto can also accommodate up to 12 guests in six staterooms, including a full-beam master suite, three double cabins and two twins with en-suite facilities.

Feadship has announced the launch of the fully custom 42.5m/139.5ft motor yacht CALLISTO in early April at its facilities in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands.

She is the second yacht named CALLISTO for her Owners, the first also being a Feadship-constructed motor yacht, measuring 65.2m/213.11ft, built in 2006 and last refitted in 2021. She was the first superyacht to have an advanced rudder-roll system installed.

This smaller CALLISTO has been custom-designed to fit her berth in the Mediterranean , and before the design process began the Owners stipulated a top speed of more than 20. Her naval architecture from  De Voogt Naval Architects and aluminium hull and superstructure has created an excellent performance at high speeds, reducing pitch and lowering resistance. The twin MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines CALLISTO have been installed with both produce 1,939 kW @ 2,450 rpm to create a top speed of 21 knots, a cruising speed of 12.5 knots and a range of 3,000 nautical miles at an economical 11 knots, matching the Owner’s requirements.

The exterior styling is also by De Voogt, who has given her an athletic appearance. Within, the interiors by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design match the spirit of summer in the Mediterranean with light and refined colour scheme with an emphasis on space.

Overnight, M/Y CALLISTO accommodated up to 10 guests in 5 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite, 2 VIP staterooms and 2 twin cabins.

The crew accommodation sleeps up to 8 over 5 cabins, consisting of 3 twin cabins and 1 single cabin on the lower deck, and the Captain’s cabin on the bridge deck.

42.5m Feadship Callisto makes her way to open sea

Following her launch on April 8, Feadship's 42.5 metre Callisto has left the Aalsmeer facilities to begin sea trials in the North Sea.

Formerly known as Project 709, the yacht has been built in aluminium to a design by de Voogt , with Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design handling the interior. The yacht was commissioned by experienced owners who requested a fast and spacious yacht that would fit snugly into her berth in the Mediterranean.

The yacht will have plenty of practise with snug fits, as she navigates a series of hairpin bends and narrow gaps on her journey between Aalsmeer and Rotterdam. As with all of the yachts in its fleet, Feadship will plan every aspect of Callisto's journey to ensure a smooth passage through the Dutch waterways.  

The finished Callisto is a fully-custom Feadship that sits just under the 500 GT threshold and is capable of reaching top speeds of 21 knots. To ensure a speed-optimised design, she features a unique bow that reduces pitching and lowers resistance at higher speeds.

The new Callisto borrows style cues from the first Callisto , a 65 metre that was delivered in 2006. Both yachts share the same classic profile and signature Feadship styling, but de Voogt has added sporty touches to the new Callisto to reflect her speedier capacities.

Al fresco living was a key component to the yacht's design brief, and Callisto offers plenty of outdoor spaces to accommodate that. She is crowned by a large sundeck with plenty of shade from the sun and shelter from the wind, as well as a spacious seating area on the bridge deck. Callisto can also accommodate waterfront dining on the swim platform. 

Tender storage is located in a lower deck garage, as well as in a hatch-concealed bay in the foredeck that's accessible via a crane and can also host two jet-skis.

Interiors follow a light, bright, Mediterranean-inspired theme. Accommodation is split between a full-beam owner's cabin on the main deck plus two large VIP cabins and two twin guest cabins. All cabins are en suite, and there are further quarters for a crew of eight.

Project manager Pieter de Vries commented, " it has been a genuine pleasure to work again with such knowledgeable clients on Callisto. They had hoped to visit the yard regularly, having loved their time building their first custom Feadship.

"Although the pandemic made this challenging they kept in good touch via virtual meetings and could also leverage on their trust in Feadship to deliver their demands in tandem with the on-site owner's team."

The sale of the yacht was announced in February 2020, with Alex Lees-Buckley at Camper & Nicholsons International handling the sale.

The yacht is powered by twin MTU propulsion engines that give her a comfortable cruising speed of 12.5 knots and a 3,000 nautical mile range at 11 knots.

Her water tanks store around 1,400 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules.
