A Summary of Sailing Yacht YANIKA

The sailing yacht YANIKA is a 38 metre 125 (ft) well sized wooden ship which was developed by Durukos Yatcilik Turizm Ve Ticaret As and devised by Yucel Koyagasioglu. A good sized turkish gulet (gullet) YANIKA is a particularily distinctive Turkish built superyacht which was launched to accolade in 1997. Sleeping 12 passengers and 6 crew members, sailing yacht YANIKA was previously known as Durukos Jasmine as her build project name and/or yacht title. She is a modern turkish gulet (gullet).

Construction & Designing for Luxury Yacht YANIKA

Yucel Koyagasioglu was the naval architect involved in the technical vessel plans for YANIKA. Yucel Koyagasioglu is also associated with the yacht wider design collaboration for this boat. Created at Durukos Yatcilik Turizm Ve Ticaret As this vessel was completed within Turkey. She was successfully launched in Bodrum in 1997 before being handed over to the owner. A moderate feeling is brought about with a maximum beam (width) of 7.1 m or 23.3 ft. With a 2.95m (9.7ft) draught (maximum depth) she is reasonably shallow. The material wooden was used in the building of the hull of the sailing yacht. Her superstructure over the hull is built out of wood. Over the deck of YANIKA she is 33 (108.3 ft) in length. In 1999 further refitting and updating was also finished.

Powered by a sole CUMMINS diesel main engines, YANIKA will reach a high speed of 12 knots. Her propulsion units are a single screw propeller. Her total HP is 380 HP and her total Kilowatts are 280.

Monument to Admiral Stepan Makarov

A highly decorated naval officer, explorer, author, and designer of the world's first icebreaker, Vice-Admiral Stepan Makarov was killed in action in the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905).

This magnificent memorial to Makarov was erected in 1913 on Yakornaya Ploshchad ("Anchor Square") in front of the Naval Cathedral of St. Nicolas in Kronshtadt, the headquarters of the Russian Imperial Navy. The sculptor of the monument was Leonid Sherwood, who chose to use as the pedestal a 160-ton granite rock originally cut for a monument to Peter the Great in front of Kazan Cathedral, which sunk in transit to St. Petersburg. The bottom of the rock is engraved with the words: "Remember war". This was the personal motto of Stepan Makarov.
