The French native, with a longstanding passion for boating, arrived in Hong Kong as an automotive engineer in 2005, with a speciality in high-performance metals. Two years later, he launched the Asia Yachting dealership, specialising in new premium motor yachts. Today, as well as working with clientele to achieve their customised performance and design preferences, Olivier also commissions luxury yacht models for the company that feature functional and design elements that he understands suit the needs of owners based in Asia. Along with securing exclusive Hong Kong and Southeast Asia distribution rights for some of the world’s top motor-yacht brands, Olivier also ensures Asia Yachting is a key provider for the region’s pre-owned market. Besides boating, Olivier is also an enthusiast for fine dining and wine.

Vinci excels at delivering on her client’s needs and maintains an extensive knowledge on Asia Yachting’s portfolio. She prides herself on being recognized as a trusted advisor and values the importance of listening to her client’s evolving needs from search to purchase. She has helped clients secure their dream boats from inventories around the world. Vinci graduated from Baptist University in Hong Kong with a bachelor’s degree in commerce. She’s been fascinated with the ocean since a young age and decided to enter the yacht broking industry having explored roles in various start-ups.

Darren is an enthusiastic water sports lover who has a passion for boats and the sea. Being a Hong Kong Pleasure Vessel Operating License Grade 2 holder as well as a Mechanical Engineering degree holder himself, he can always give clients different perspectives when it comes to looking for the right boat for them, whether it is a sport vessel or a luxury leisure yacht. Beside being a wakesurf lover, he is also a wake sport instructor, so he knows what the differences can be made having a good wake boat. Darren grew up in Canada, and as an outdoor adventure enthusiast, he is also a PADI and SSI open water instructor, as well as a snowboarding coach, so when he’s not on the water with a boat, you may find him under the water or shredding deep powder snow in a mountain.

Born in Spain, Jordi is a passionate yacht broker with many years of career experience that is connected with the sea and yacht sales. Always love to be helpful and warm, he has an extended list of clients around the world. Currently based in Phuket, Thailand, Jordi has worked in different countries like Spain and Canary Islands, United Kingdom, Brazil and New Zealand, and with such international background and broad networks, he knows how to mingle with different kind of clientele and find the best match of clients and yachts even if they are across the world. After almost one decade of experience in yacht sale, he has a deep knowledge of the yacht market and mechanics, he will love to assist you to find your perfect dream yacht. When he’s not working, you may find him practicing sports like sailing, cycling and surfing.

Cindy has grown up in Shenzhen China. She is a honest, positive and fashionable yacht broker who devotes and feels grateful to be part of the yacht industry. Hotel With an Unparalleled View

Situated on the edge of Victoria Harbor in Tsim Sha Tsui, the renovated Regent Hong Kong - formerly operated under the Intercontinental brand - comes with some of the best views of the city's iconic skyline. Its seafront-facing lobby lounge, which has been a high-tea hot spot for decades, has been given an understated and tasteful overhaul with high ceilings and curved glass walls. The hotel also comes with a slew of fine-dining options, including a cigar bar, a steak house, a new branch of Nobu and the Cantonese cuisine specialist Lai Ching Heen.

A Quarter of a Century of Original Oakley Design at K11 Musea

Peter Yee, Oakley's former vice president of design, will host an exhibition spotlighting 25 years of his designs for the brand at Adrian Cheng‘s high-end retail complex K11 Musea. Powered by the 3D-based phygital platform Spin.Fashion, the exhibition, which will run from March 28 to April 28, will leverage Web3 technologies, showing never-before-seen sketches, prototypes, and limited-edition eyewear and watches from the golden age of Oakley.

Also at K11 Musea, 300 Years of Jewels and Craftsmanship at Van Cleef & Arpels

Another exhibit to explore at K11 Musea is "An Eye for Beauty, the Illuminata Jewelry Collection" by Van Cleef & Arpels' L'École school of jewelry arts, open until March 31. Shown for the first time are some 50 pieces of European and Chinese jewelry from a local connoisseur's private collection, which spans three centuries and ranges from a portable chest in huanghuali wood from the late Ming dynasty and Qing court jewels to a silver-and-gold bracelet of curling cabochon garnets outlined with minute diamonds from the 1840s to aluminum ear clips by JAR.

Front Row Experience at Rosewood Hong Kong

To celebrate its fifth anniversary, Rosewood Hong Kong is offering a 12-day program called "Rosewood Front Row," showcasing its excellence in food, art and design, culture and wellness. It includes an art-focused conversation with the visual art museum M+ featuring speakers like architects Piet Boon, and Roco Yim, and artist Frederik Molenschot; a private yacht transfer from the hotel to the Art Basel venue; culinary collaborations between the Michelin-starred Brat and the hotel's steak house Henry, as well as the Mumbai fine-dining restaurant Masque with Rosewood's own buzzy Indian restaurant Chaat, and the launch of celebrity stylist Rossano Ferretti's namesake hair spa at the hotel's wellness center Asaya.

Kasing Lung at Landmark

Upscale shopping mall Landmark will present a solo art exhibition and retail concept by the Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung on March 26. Taking over the mall's atrium, the showcase will include cutout motifs of Lung's characters, and 25 new paintings - some almost 6 feet tall. On the basement level, called Belowground, there will be an extensive retrospective display of the artist's works, including more than 120 sketches, drawings, and sculptures, as well as Lung's collaborations with brands such as Globe-Trotter, Vans, RetaW Fragrance and Hidden NY.

Pearl Lam Does Maggi Hambling

Two never-before-seen series of paintings by British artist Maggi Hambling, which showcase the lasting influence of Chinese ink drawings on Hambling's career, will be unveiled in an upcoming exhibition called "The Night" at Pearl Lam Galleries' location in Hong Kong. Known for her rebellious spirit and outspokenness, Hambling will also present a selection of new sculptures and a new Wall of Water painting for the occasion.

Art for the Oceans

Parley for the Oceans, the nonprofit environmental organization that focuses on the protection of the oceans, will promote its global fundraising initiative titled "Art for the Oceans" at Art Basel Hong Kong. Dedicated to protecting the oceans for life without plastic pollution, climate change and biodiversity loss, the program will see Parley's Global Cleanup Network collect one pound of plastic for every $1 donated. During the fair, Parley will curate a space that showcases data underscoring the beauty and fragility of the oceans, as well as Parley's collaborations with artists such as Keiichi Tanaami, Ed Ruscha, Jenny Holzer, Katharina Grosse, Pipilotti Rist and Doug Aitken.

Street and Fashion Collide at ComplexCon Hong Kong

Pop culture fair ComplexCon will bring its first event in Asia to AsiaWorld-Expo from Friday to Sunday. Curated by Japanese graphic artist Verdy,   the mastermind behind Blackpink's  "Born Pink World" tour, the fair will feature a FabriX AR digital kiosk for visitors to try on virtual fashion creations by Abra, Celine Kwan, Chen Peng, Christian Stone, Eden Tan, Feng Chen Wang, Germanier, Mark Gong, Ryunosuke Okazaki, Susan Fang and Windowsen. It will also include a new work from Daniel Arsham, a one-day crash course on "collaboration theory" by Hiroshi Fujiwara's Fragment University, and concerts headlined by 21 Savage, Simon Dominic, Edison Chen and many more.

Gary Card Presents "People Mountain, People Sea" at Oi!

Gary Card, one of the most in-demand set designers working in the realm of fashion with clients including Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Vivienne Westwood, Dover Street Market and LN-CC, has unveiled his first solo exhibition in Hong Kong at the Oi! art space in North Point. Running until July 27, the exhibition, titled "People Mountain, People Sea" - a Chinese idiom describing how crowded a place can get - will feature sculptures, paintings and digital installations created through Card's mischievous lens with Eastern and Western iconographies morphing into something outlandish yet familiar.

Have an Art Adviser in Your Pocket

Feeling lost among the nearly endless selection of galleries and booths available in town? That's what AI-powered app Docent seeks to solve, with a platform cofounders Hélène Nguyen-Ban and Mathieu Rosenbaum aim to make as easy and straightforward to use as, say, Spotify.

For Art Basel Hong Kong, Docent is giving exclusive access to preview artworks from its partner galleries showing at the fair, including Balice Hertling, Carlos/Ishikawa, Fitzpatrick Gallery and Nova Contemporary. It is also supporting the five-artist exhibition "And the Safe Spots Become Impassable," curated by Ethan Yip and Yisi Li.

The platform will be the exclusive online partner of the debut edition of Supper Club Hong Kong, a five-day event held at the Grade 1 heritage site Fringe Club. With 20 galleries from the region and abroad, the program will include live performances and panel talks as well as experiential presentations curated by Hong Kong-based cultural specialist Anqi Li.

Who was on superyacht that sank off Sicily?

Twenty-two people were on board the Bayesian superyacht including British technology tycoon Mike Lynch, his wife and 18-year-old daughter, and Morgan Stanley International boss Jonathan Bloomer.

Details have emerged of the 22 people who were on board the superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily.

The British-flagged vessel named Bayesian was carrying 12 passengers and 10 members of crew when it got into difficulty in the early hours of Monday.

Seven bodies have now been recovered. The other 15 people on board were rescued.

Here's what we know about those who were on the yacht.

Follow latest updates on the superyacht sinking

British technology tycoon Mike Lynch was among the original six people missing. On Thursday, divers confirmed his body had been recovered.

Raised in Ilford, east London by Irish parents, the 59-year-old made millions with the software company Autonomy he set up in 1996.

He had an estimated net worth of £852m, according to the 2023 Sunday Times Rich List, and is believed to have owned the yacht.

Off the back of Automomy's global success, Mr Lynch was given the roles of science adviser to former prime minister David Cameron and non-executive director of the BBC.

The Cambridge maths and sciences graduate sold the firm for £8.64bn to US giant Hewlett Packard (HP) in 2011.

Dubbed the "British Bill Gates", Mr Lynch has been in the headlines in recent months over a high-profile fraud case related to the sale of Autonomy to HP in 2011.

HP accused him of deliberately overstating the value of the company before it was acquired by the American technology firm. Mr Lynch denied any wrongdoing.

In June, a US jury cleared him of all charges .

Hannah Lynch

Mr Lynch's 18-year-old daughter Hannah Lynch was also on board. A body believed to be that of the teenager was recovered on Friday from the yacht wreckage.

She had been on holiday with her parents, having secured a place to study English at the University of Oxford, according to reports.

Her former school, Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, west London, said they were "incredibly shocked by the news that Hannah and her father are among those missing in this tragic accident" when the yacht first sank.

Angela Bacares

Mr Lynch's wife Angela Bacares was on board the yacht and was rescued.

The 57-year-old said she and Mr Lynch were awoken by the boat "tilting" at 4am - half an hour before it sank.

Jonathan Bloomer

Jonathan Bloomer, the chairman of investment bank Morgan Stanley International, was confirmed dead on Thursday.

According to the Financial Times, Mr Bloomer appeared as a defence witness for Mr Lynch during his US criminal trial and the pair were good friends. He also chaired Autonomy's audit committee.

The 70-year-old was the chief executive of UK-Hong Kong insurer Prudential until he was ousted by the board in 2005.

He was also chairman of the insurance provider Hiscox.

Judy Bloomer

Mr Bloomer's wife Judy was on the yacht trip with her husband. Divers confirmed they found her body on Thursday.

Mrs Bloomer was a former board member at The Eve Appeal charity, which focuses on gynaecological cancers.

The charity described her as a "brilliant champion for women's health and medical research... an incredible supporter, committee member, and trustee of our charity for over 20 years".

Recaldo Thomas

The yacht's on-board chef Recaldo Thomas died in the sinking.

He was Canadian-Antiguan and part of the crew of the Bayesian.

His body was the first to be recovered from the wreckage.

Chris Morvillo

US lawyer Chris Morvillo was among those divers found dead on Thursday.

The father-of-two worked on Mr Lynch's US fraud trial and was a partner of law firm Clifford Chance's US branch.

Mr Morvillo was assistant attorney for the Southern District of New York between 1995 and 2005 and worked on the terrorist investigation into the 9/11 attacks.

In a recent LinkedIn post, he thanked the legal team that helped win Mr Lynch's trial.

Signing off the post, he said: "And, finally, a huge thank you to my patient and incredible wife, Neda Morvillo, and my two strong, brilliant, and beautiful daughters, Sabrina Morvillo and Sophia Morvillo.

"None of this would have been possible without your love and support. I am so glad to be home. And they all lived happily ever after…."

Neda Morvillo

Mr Morvillo's wife Neda died in the disaster alongside her husband.

The 57-year-old had a luxury jewellery brand, which she ran under her maiden name Neda Nassiri.

Ayla Ronald

Ayla Ronald, a senior associate at Clifford Chance, survived the yacht disaster, the law firm confirmed.

The 36-year-old worked alongside Chris Morvillo in helping defend Mike Lynch in court.

Clifford Chance said in a statement: "Our utmost priority is providing support to the family as well as our colleague Ayla Ronald, who together with her partner, thankfully survived the incident."

She is originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, but lives in London, her father told local media there.

He said she was left "very shaken" but "she and her partner are alive".

Charlotte Golunski

Charlotte Golunski was on board the yacht and was rescued along with her one-year-old daughter, Sofia.

She spoke to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, confirming she survived the yacht sinking and told how she kept her daughter alive after she was rescued.

"I held her afloat with all my strength, my arms stretched upwards to keep her from drowning," she said.

"It was all dark. In the water I couldn't keep my eyes open. I screamed for help but all I could hear around me was the screams of others."

The 35-year-old is a partner at one of Mr Lynch's firms - Invoke Capital - and has worked there since 2012, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She also worked at Hewlett Packard, which acquired Autonomy in 2011, for 11 months.

Before that, she studied history at the University of Oxford.

James Emsley

Ms Golunski's partner James Emsley was also rescued from the yacht, according to Sicily's civil protection agency.

The 36-year-old is the father of her one-year-old daughter.

James Cutfield

The 51-year-old captain of the yacht spoke to Italian newspaper La Repubblica after he was rescued.

Mr Cutfield, from New Zealand, was taken for treatment at the Termini Imerese emergency unit, where he told the newspaper: "We didn't see it coming."

Leah Randall

Leah Randall was part of the Bayesian crew and survived the sinking.

She was pictured going ashore in Porticello on Monday morning and is from South Africa.

Her mother Heidi told Sky News said she was "beyond relieved that my daughter's life was spared by the grace of God".

"It doesn't make it any easier living with the heartache of those who have lost their lives [or are] missing. My very deepest condolences to the chef's family as they formed a great friendship," she said.

Katja Chicken

Katja Chicken was another South African member of crew on board the Bayesian and was pictured being brought to safety in Porticello on Monday.

The Italian coastguard confirmed on Tuesday evening that Leo Eppel, a crew member, also survived the yacht sinking.

As wakesurfing rises in popularity in Hong Kong, even surpassing wakeboarding – a similar, yet fundamentally different sport – surfing boat manufacturers have taken the opportunity to modify, refine, and upgrade their boat designs. Unlike wakeboarding, wakesurfing requires a particular set of features, such as a different engine placement and hull shape, alongside innovative and advanced equipment to provide an enjoyable, safe, and unforgettable wakesurfing experience.

The main difference between wakesurfing and wakeboarding is that with wakesurfing, you aren’t permanently attached to the boat via a rope. Wakeboarding gained popularity thanks to being an invigorating and fun sport in which you travel at high speeds across the water behind a boat. Wakesurfing is typically a slower – but by no means easier – sport in which you surf in the waves made by the boat’s engines. This provides surfers in Hong Kong with much easier and guaranteed access to surfable waves, provided the boat is designed correctly.

The design of the boat

The design of wakesurfing boats differs from wakeboarding boats in that there is a greater emphasis on your safety. Rather than jutting out of the back of the boat, the propellers are located on the bottom – safely out of reach of anyone in the water.

In addition to this, boats with a convex V-shaped hull ride deeper in the water, creating a bigger and more surfable wave. This is different from boats with flatter hulls that might be better for water skiing, for example.

Depending on the model of the boat, there is ample storage and a luxurious cockpit with plenty of space to move around in. There is also plenty of ballast weight on the boat for extra security without sacrificing any storage space.
