What Are The Most Popular Azimut Yachts?
As a new yacht dealer that takes in trades, along with being one of the most successful brokerage firms in the Northeast, SI Yachts is no stranger to euro-built motor yachts. Whether you are looking to sell your current vessel, or are looking for the perfect boat, our team of expert sales professionals can assist you in finding the perfect Azimut Yacht for sale on the market today.
From the Azimut S6 winning best Sportcruiser Over 40 Feet at the Motor Boat Awards, to the Grande Tri-Deck winning the Miami Innovation Award, the recognition the shipyard has received across the model range reaffirms its popularity among yacht buyers in the market.
In determining the most popular Azimut Yacht, we looked at sold boat data across all models from vessels closed in 2020 through 2022, and in the United States. Below are the top 10 most popular models based on that criteria with #1 being the top Azimut. If you are interested in either selling or purchasing a boat, please contact our main office at 1-718-984-7676 or by email at [email protected] .
#10 - 66 Flybridge
Still listed as a new model being produced today, most of the Azimut 66 Flybridge yachts sold in the last few years on the brokerage market were built from 2017 through 2019. There were 12 vessels sold in our timeframe and the average number of days on the market was just over 150. The 66 Fly uses carbon fiber technology in the deck, the forward part of the flybridge, and on the optional hardtop. This not only decreases the weight of the yacht, but also adds to the usable square footage and improves efficiency.
#9 - 64 Flybridge
Sleek lines and traditional Azimut entertainment spaces are the hallmark characteristics of the 64 Flybridge . The 64 Fly even won the 'Best Flybridge Over 55-Feet' Award at the Motor Boat Awards when it first debuted. Of the 14 units sold in the last two years in the United States, the average length of time on the market was 190 days. Most of the 64's sold were built between in 2012 and 2013.
#8 - 72 Flybridge
With spacious outdoor living areas and large windows lining the salon, the Azimut 72 Fly is a favorite among yacht buyers. It was the most popular model purchased on the brokerage market since the beginning of 2020, although this could also have been affected by what boats were available. There were 15 Azimut 72's bought in the timeframe we looked, most of which were built in 2017. The 72 FLY had an average time on the brokerage market if 219 days.
#7 - 43 Flybridge
It's no secret that the 40-to-45 foot range has been a popular segment for Azimut, so there are several models in this length range that appeared in the top 10 list of most popular boats. The Azimut 43 has been on the entry-level side of the range of flybridge yachts offered. All of the 43's sold were built between 2006 and 2008, with an average time on the market of just over 6 months.
#6 - 40 Verve
Released in 2016, the Azimut 40 Verve combines center-console like performance with the amenities of a luxury sport coupe. The Verve line has been highly popular for Azimut since making its debut. In our sales report, there were 16 units of the 40 Verve sold with build years all between 2017 and 2020. The average number of days on the market was 174 making this a a fairly easy model to sell. In today's market, the SI Yachts team would be able to sell your 40 Verve quickly and likely with multiple offers.
Launched by the Italian shipyard in 2011, the 55S racked up numerous awards in the early days of it premiering such as 'Best Production Boat' and 'Most Innovative Yacht'. The majority of the Azimut 55S vessels sold were built between 2014 and 2016 with an average time on the market of just under one year. Late model Azimut 55S units feature twin MAN i6 800mhp engines with a 3 cabin layout that includes a crew quarters.
#4 - 43 Atlantis
With 18 boats sold in our timeframe, the Azimut 43 Atlantis is one of the most popular models for the brand thanks to its price point and versatility. The vast majority of the 43's sold were built between 2017 and 2019, with an average time on the brokerage market of only 3 1/2 months! With the electric sunroof and an open cockpit, your day cruising on the water will be filled with sunshine and a wonderful sea breeze.
#3 - 60 Flybridge
The 60 Fly is the third model in the 60-to-70 foot range in our top 10 most popular Azimut Yachts. More than 20 boats were sold in our timeframe giving us a nice sample size to look at how long these boats last on the market. On average, the pre-owned 60 Fly's lasted 309 days available for sale until closing. The late-model 60 Flybridge Azimuts feature the use of carbon fiber for improved performance and space. They also incorporate an Electronic Power Steering system for a truly exhilarating captain experience.
#2 - 54 Flybridge
The curved salon windows add to the Italian expression found on the popular Azimut 54 Flybridge , a design featured that also adds an abundant amount of natural light to the main deck interior. The pre-owned 54 Fly's in our report only stayed on the market for 128 and there were more than 20 units sold, making it one of the most popular models in Azimut's range. The metallic blue hull color option looks stunning as the vessel glides through the water.
#1 - 50 Flybridge
The 50 Flybridge is the most popular Azimut Yacht according to the number of boats sold on the brokerage market from the beginning of 2021 through 2022. Buyers purchased 32 Azimut 50's in this timeframe with the majority of the boats having been built between 2015 and 2017. The average time on the market for the 50 Fly was 180 days, but realistically could sell a lot faster if the boat is in good showing condition and with the targeted SI Yachts marketing strategy. The 50 Fly won the 'European Powerboat of the Year' award in 2015.

Best Azimut Yachts for Sale
Azimut Yachts is part of Italy’s Azimut-Benetti Group, the largest yacht builder in the world. Renowned for its composite yacht construction expertise, Azimut is the market leader of smaller luxury yachts for sale, from 34 (10m) to 80 feet (24m) in length. With the addition of its Azimut Grande division, the larger luxury yacht division, the range goes from the smallest yacht at 34 feet (10m) in length up to their largest at 120 feet (36m). Azimut celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019 with new models. The Italian yacht builder continued its commitment to innovation and celebrated its anniversary with the launch of several new models including the Grande S10, the Azimut 76 Fly, the Atlantis 45 and the Grande Magellano 25 METRI.
Azimut Yachts: Italian Yacht Building Heritage
Azimut Yachts began as a charter company, but very quickly became an Italian distributor for leading yacht manufacturers from around the world. What followed was a decade of design and joint ventures with yacht builders until 1985 when Azimut acquired the Benetti shipyard in Viareggio. Armed with the facilities to construct its own yachts, Azimut was able to define new styles. The brand certainly played its part in revolutionizing the boat-building industry. With the acquisition of new shipyards, Azimut then went on to become the foremost builder of yachts and has maintained its leading position through continuous innovation.
“Azimut is known for its modern styling and contemporary design as well as being great value for money, making them a popular choice for buyers who want a yacht for sale that provides a lot of bang for their bucks. The brand also is particularly popular yachts for charter due to contemporary styling and streamlined profiles,” says Northrop & Johnson Sales Broker Sean Doyle.
“Azimut has grown to become one of the world’s leading shipyards. I believe this is partly down to its technological and technical expertise and the quality of its finished product, combined with expert customer relations and an extensive dealer network,” says Crom Littlejohn. “Of particular interest to Northrop & Johnson clients are the yachts in the Azimut Grande collection. They are produced on a different, more bespoke production line than the smaller vessels and are aimed at a different level of luxury than their smaller brethren.”
Northrop & Johnson has access to the most exclusive Azimut Yachts for sale. Built-to-last, designed with beauty and crafted with magnificent Italian engineering, the Azimut yachts available on the market offer comfort, safety features, advanced technology and lavish living quarters. In addition to being visually pleasing, the Azimut yachts for sale through Northrop & Johnson aim to be environmentally sound. Indeed, Azimut places great importance on environmental preservation and has taken the direction of Eco-friendliness through projects like the MAGELLANO 53, the first motor yacht less than 60-feet (18m) to be awarded RINA Green Plus notation. Azimut focuses on developing concepts for yachts with low environmental impact and clean production processes. Thanks to this dedication, it has been awarded the ISO 14001 certification for its management system aimed at reducing environmental damage.
Azimut yachts also are perfect yachts for charter, offering a fast and fun lifestyle. Guests can truly enjoy cruising in style through the Caribbean and Mediterranean on board any luxury Azimut yacht available to charter , with accommodations ranging from four guests and up to 12 guests in well-put-together staterooms.
“Azimut is known for its style and quality,” says Northrop & Johnson charter broker Amy Wachmann. “The range of yachts all offer something different to the charter market, offering fantastic onboard space while retaining excellent levels of static and dynamic stability. In particular, the Azimut Grande collection offers great appeal for yachts for charter.”

Top 5 Azimut Motoryachts You Can Buy For Under $500K
April 23, 2019 7:07 pm
The pre-owned Azimut market has many choices ranging in size from 42 feet up to over 100 feet. A recent search of the yachting MLS turned up these popular models that can often be found priced below the $500,000 mark.
Azimut 55 Evolution [2002-11]
Overview: The Azimut 55 Evolution (called the 55 Flybridge in 2001–04) displays a styling scheme very different from earlier Azimut motoryachts. Gone are the tiered cabin windows of previous years, replaced in the 55 by a pair of distinctive fin-shaped salon windows. Also new were vertical glass panels in the hullsides, a design innovation that introduced natural lighting into the master stateroom. Stepping inside from the covered aft deck, the open-plan salon of the Azimut 55 features a C-shaped leather sofa to port and entertainment center to starboard. The galley and dining area are forward, two steps up from the salon. Below, there are three staterooms and two full heads including a full-beam amidships master, VIP queen forward, and guest cabin with side-by-side berths. Lacquered cherry wood cabinets and trim are used throughout the interior. Note the power side windows at the lower helm. Crew quarters with a single berth and toilet are aft, accessed from a hatch in the aft deck sole. The spacious flybridge has a large sun pad to starboard, opposite the helm, while a refreshment/entertainment center holds a barbecue grill, ice maker and sink. Cat 715hp C12 V-drive diesels cruise at 25–26 knots (30+ top).

Azimut 50 Flybridge [2003-10]
Overview: A popular model in the U.S., the Azimut 50 Flybridge—not to be confused with the newer Azimut 50 Flybridge introduced in 2015—is a richly appointed cruising yacht whose distinctive shark-fin windows set her apart from other yachts in this class. Offered with two or three stateroom interiors, a triple-panel sliding glass door provides entry to Azimut 50’s expansive salon. The U-shaped settee immediately to starboard converts to a double berth at the push of a button, and the cherry wood table can be raised or lowered by remote control. A facing settee is to port and the lower helm is forward, two steps up from the salon level. Opposite the helm and a few steps down is the Azimut 50’s beautifully appointed galley. The galley size depends on the layout—it’s spacious in the two-stateroom configuration (shown at left), but small when the third stateroom is added. The entire interior of the Azimut 50 is done in high-gloss cherry woodwork and trim. A washer/dryer combo is located in the crew quarters aft. A staircase to port in the covered cockpit leads to the flybridge with electric grill, wet bar, and lounge seating aft. Cat 715hp C12 diesels cruise at 26–28 knots (30+ top).

Azimut 47 Flybridge [2007-11]
Overview: Like other Azimut models from the design board of Stefano Righini, the 47 Fly combines style and grace in a motoryacht of timeless elegance. Introduced in 2007, the 47 features a three stateroom, two head layout plus optional crew quarters aft. The owner’s suite is forward with a full-size double bed, two hanging lockers, and private ensuite head. Aft from the central lobby with its nicely integrated portside galley are two doors, each leading into nearly identical twin-berth guest cabins with standing headroom at the entryways. The starboard cabin is the VIP with berths that convert to a double and access to the second head. Both heads have circular shower stalls. A portside dinette is opposite the lower helm and the U-shaped lounge aft of the helm lowers to form an extra berth. In the cockpit, a sun lounge runs along the transom and a hatch provides access to the engine compartment. Additional features include a foredeck sun pad, teak cockpit and flybridge steps, bow thruster, and flybridge grille. Powered by dependable Caterpillar 575hp C9 V-drive diesels, the 47 Fly will cruise at 25 knots (29–30 knots top).

Azimut 43 Flybridge [2007-12]
Overview: Sleek, luxurious, and powerful the Azimut 43 combines the signature features of Azimut’s larger flybridge yachts in a smaller, more personal package. The 43 is a relatively small motoryacht by European standards but there’s nothing small about the impression she makes to anyone who steps aboard. With her luxury-class accommodations and spacious flybridge, the 43 is an impressive yacht with as much eye appeal than anything in her class. The layout includes a comfortable owner’s stateroom with centerline queen berth, guest cabin with two single berths and a convertible sleeper in the main salon. Both heads contain circular stall showers. Large windows bathe the entire salon in sunlight. Headroom at the lower helm position is tight, but most 43s sold into the American market will likely be operated from the flybridge so that’s probably not a serious issue. Note the opening port over the galley counter. The flybridge is huge for a boat this size. An extended teak bathing platform, cockpit table with chairs, bow thruster, and a foredeck sun pad are all standard. On the downside, the engine room is a tight fit. Cummins 480hp diesels cruise at 24–26 knots (about 30 knots top).

Azimut Magellano 43 [2013-Current]
Overview: The Magellano is an efficient semi-displacement coastal cruiser whose distinctive styling (note the plumb bow) offers something very different in Italian motoryacht styling. Available in both flybridge and hardtop models, the yacht is fitted with first-class materials and an extensive list of standard and optional equipment designed to make living as comfortable as possible. The Magellano’s innovative layout includes three roomy cabins — a forward master with en suite head, a portside double and a starboard stowage space that can be configured as a single. A second day head is on the starboard side. A large aft swim platform makes boarding easy, and a transom cut-out provides access to the cockpit with its L-shaped lounge seating and folding table. Wide side decks are protected by sturdy railings with gates for side boarding. The 43’s flybridge helm station provides an ideal overlook. Next to it, there is a large reversible C-shaped sofa offering guests total relaxation. According to Azimut, the 43’s hull has proven as efficient at trawler speeds of 7 knots as it is at 18 knots. No lightweight, Cummins QSB 5.9 350hp V-drive diesels cruise at 15–16 knots (low 20s top).

The Best in Marine, From the Azimut ‘Verve’ Dayboat to Heesen ‘Ultra G’ Megayacht

The Big Idea: Sailing Towards Sustainability
For a growing number of younger sailors, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword but the chief driver behind their new builds. Designers and shipyards understand that their vessels must now be the bleeding edge of green technology.
“The wonderful thing about sailing is that you can move a 50-ton vessel in style across the Atlantic without using fossil fuel,” says Anders Berg of Dixon Yacht Design , highlighting sailing’s wind-harnessing advantage over powerboats. A younger, more tech-savvy clientele has emerged, with “different expectations that are catalyzing new technologies.”
“Our demographics changed tremendously after we started building hybrid boats,” notes Seth Hynes, president of HH Catamarans , a producer of luxury sailing cats from 44 to 88 feet. “We’re now looking at mostly younger buyers—families taking sabbaticals or first-time owners living off the grid.”
Hybrid propulsion has significantly lowered emissions compared to conventional diesel power, while solar panels designed into the exterior and lithium-ion batteries recharged by the spinning of the props are becoming integral to the latest generation of bespoke sailing yachts. Green technology is also trickling, albeit more slowly, into production sailboats.
In a reverse trend, designer Bill Tripp has seen motoryacht owners gravitate toward sailing vessels. “About a third of new clients at Y Yachts owned powerboats,” he explains, adding that the tech transfer represents a “seismic shift” during his 47 years as a naval architect: “There are great opportunities now for owners who approach this reflectively.”
One of Tripp’s clients is building a 70-foot “pure-electric” world-cruising sailboat with zero fossil-fuel components. But that remains rare. “Sailing’s still waiting for its Tesla moment, when batteries are light and powerful enough to make a boat independent,” he adds.
Nobody believes the demand for increased sustainability will fade. “It’s accelerating,” says Berg, citing a recent clean-sheet project he designed around emerging technology rather than trying to pigeonhole alternative-propulsion components into a traditional hull.
“This new generation of owners want things nobody asked for five years ago,” adds Tripp. “They want, and will eventually get, perpetual-motion machines.”
Gigayacht: ‘Kismet’
The latest and largest Kismet is the third yacht of the same name for Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan. At 400 feet, it’s 88 feet longer than its predecessor, though it shares flash features such as a basketball court on the helipad, video walls, wild chandeliers, and a silver jaguar inlaid into the bowsprit. The interior by Reymond Langton is tastefully flamboyant. The full-beam, two-level owner’s apartment is accented in gold, tempered by the fireplace, marbled bathrooms, dressing rooms, and enormous skylight above the bed. Other over-the-top features include a cryotherapy chamber, a Bogányi grand piano on the upper deck, and a “Tron Corridor” with a dance floor that flashes pink and blue. The cinema may claim the Khan prize for coolest feature: Under the 150-inch television is a Nemo Lounge, a window to whatever is swimming outside.
Superyacht: ‘Malia’
Stretching 255 feet, Golden Yachts ’ Malia was the largest yacht launched in Greece last year. Stefano Vafiadis’s exterior is attractive, if conventional, with its axe bow and trapezoidal windows, but the interior by Massari Design really shines. The more than 50 finishes throughout the interior include semiprecious stones with emerald and sapphire hues, liquid metals, and 16 types of marble. With so many materials, it would be easy to wander into kitsch, but the design remains restrained and contemporary. Highlights include textured-wood ceilings by Italian artisans, marble steps, and champagne-colored metal-glass chandeliers. The seven generous guest cabins are eclipsed by the full-beam primary suite, with a private office, vanity, and walk-in closet. Outside, a glass-bottom swimming pool filters sunlight into the beach club below. The lower deck includes a massage room, sauna, and hammam. Continuing the wellness theme, the gym is located on the sundeck.
Motoryacht: Arcadia A96
In this particularly competitive category, an unusually generous 4,300 square feet of usable space—30 percent more than other yachts in its class—lifted the A96 into the winner’s circle. That roominess is enhanced by a 24-foot beam that stretches six feet wider when the rear platforms are folded out. The A96 is largely designed around its open exterior: Sliding glass doors on the main deck access the cockpit, which is connected to a rear seating area and swim platform; the outside-in design is repeated on a smaller scale on the next deck. In a green nod, the rooftop solar panels generate 4.5 kW of energy for non-propulsion systems. An optional Hotel Mode system runs the vessel on emissions-free battery power for nine hours. Igor Lobanov ’s interior incorporates more sustainability, using what he calls eco-compatible materials for a calming fit and finish. Despite its open layout, the A96 was designed for discretion, with separate stairways for owners and crew to promote ease of movement.
Megayacht: ‘Ultra G’
This Heesen , one of the fastest yachts in its class, is powered by MTU diesels with a total of 22,000 hp, connected to four water jets, that deliver a top speed of 37 knots. Speed is essential for the angling-obsessed owner to reach cruising grounds 100 miles offshore. But even with a fishing platform and an angler’s lounge (with screens showing live underwater feeds), the owner refers to Ultra G as a fast superyacht rather than a sportfisherman. That’s one reason why we chose this 197-footer—its speed doesn’t compromise comfort. The other is the Harrison Eidsgaard interior, which features a full owner’s bridge deck with an aft-facing suite, private terrace, and whirlpool. The yacht’s media room includes a cinema and games table, and in addition to the requisite sauna and steam room, the wellness area boasts a snow room. A surprising architectural highlight: the central staircase that winds through a glass-topped atrium.
Charter Yacht: ‘This Is It’
Tecnomar’s 143-foot catamaran attracts instant love or hate. After a tour, we came to love the bold (if sometimes tacky) design that screams “I don’t care.” The irreverent attitude materializes in the vessel’s over-the-top use of glass, with nearly 6,500 square feet of full- height windows and strategically placed skylights—including one 11 feet above the primary bed—across the interior. Even the galley has a polarized-glass window looking into the salon. Other unconventional but appreciated details: The main suite has a private side entrance and an aft-facing balcony for the owner’s exclusive use overlooking the 48-foot-wide stern. The curvaceously asymmetrical interior, penned by the Italian Sea Group, claims inspiration from both sea creatures and the automotive world. Leather, Alcantara, oak, and gray-marble inserts complement silk wall panels and ceilings featuring bronze, platinum, and gold finishes. This Is It refuses to be ignored, even at night, when neon-blue lights trace the superstructure’s arch while white bulbs accentuate every line.
Interior: ‘Pink Shadow’
Design Unlimited ’s bold interior for Damen’s 191-foot Pink Shadow was inspired by Werner Herzog’s film Fitzcarraldo. Though the interior can seem, at first glance, as chaotic as the 1980s movie set in the Amazon, it holds together in an unusual and extravagant way, partly thanks to the fact that it’s an explorer yacht. The main-salon lounge includes purple velvet sofas and a custom rug depicting Fitzcarraldo’s steamboat sailing down the Amazon. Tan leathers and pops of pink neon sit beside a giant silver crocodile sculpture and jungle murals on the walls. The upper-deck cigar bar, or Habana Lounge, includes a bespoke humidor, while the bridge enjoys wallpaper embroidered with tropical birds as well as a tabletop with crocodile teeth and scales cast in resin. The enormous beach club features bamboo walls, palm-tree pillars, and a weathered, pastel-colored wooden bar. To complete the themed treatment, the full-beam owner’s cabin, with a lounge and “siesta room,” is covered in floral patterns.
Sportfisherman: ‘Special One’
Royal Huisman’s 171-foot Special One is the largest and most heavily customized sportfisherman ever. Studio Vripack did its best to define the vessel as a serious offshore battlewagon, with a dramatically long forefoot, high bulwarks, six decks, and signature tuna tower on top. In profile, it looks like a conventional sportfisherman on steroids. In the stern is an oversize angler’s cockpit, complete with the requisite fighting chair. Four tiered aft decks give spectators a view of the action, while the tuna tower is designed for spotting pelagics many miles away. Despite the interior luxuries, this vessel is no pretender: It’s equipped with live-bait wells, rod holders, fish freezers, tuna tubes, and a bait-and-tackle room. On the foredeck, an outdoor cinema screen and studio-quality speakers provide a post-catch respite from fishing. The behemoth will be delivered to its owner in June.
Electric Boat: Tyde Icon
The 44-foot Tyde Icon isn’t the first electric foiler on the water—Candela and Navier both introduced earlier models, but they lacked the crowd-pleasing interior of the Icon, a joint project between German start-up Tyde and BMW. Though it could work as an owner-driven vessel, the Icon is designed as a tender, with an interior featuring lounge seating, a rear helm with an advanced aerospace look, and full-height windows for exceptional views. The BMW-developed batteries boast a capacity of 240 kWh, delivering a 50-nautical-mile range at 24 knots, with a top end of 30 knots. Foil benefits include efficiency increases of up to 80 percent compared to a conventional monohull, plus a much softer ride above the water for owners and guests. The 120-square-foot rear platform offers access to the water at anchor and doubles as a sizable exterior deck when the boat is running.
Detail: Ferretti Infynito 90 Foredeck
Most builders rubber-stamp bows as open seating areas, but the All-Season Terrace on Ferretti’s new Infynito 90 explorer is more astute, transforming the first quarter of the main deck into a nook that’s open on three sides but protected by an overhead roof with opening slats. This offers the best views on the boat, including directly over the bow. The lounge seating, optional bar with stools, and Jacuzzi let owners and guests enjoy prolonged time up front even while underway, rather than having to seek refuge from the sun. Competitors will no doubt appropriate this design in other guises, but Ferretti got it right from the outset.
Sailing Yacht: ‘Nilaya’
The owner of 154-foot Nilaya is a sailor who owned a previous yacht with the same name, but some 39 feet shorter. The prime directive this time around: comparable performance but without the noise of the other boat’s carbon-fiber hull. “He wanted to explore the world, but in a lightweight yacht that wins regattas,” says designer Mario Pedol of Nauta . The new Nilaya was builder Royal Huisman ’s first Featherlight racing yacht in lightweight aluminum: Its engineers used a computer-modeling tool based on technology from the European Space Agency for designing the structure, saving weight and abating noise wherever possible. The build was a gamble, but the result is a fast, stylish superyacht for racing and cruising. In the latter mode, three deck areas and a beach club accommodate gatherings, while below-decks are dining and social areas, guest staterooms, and the full-beam main suite. The owner has already crossed the Atlantic twice aboard Nilaya and also claimed a win in the St. Barths Bucket, fulfilling both missions.
Dayboat: Azimut Verve 48 Outboard
Packing 1,800 hp with three 600 hp Mercury V-12 outboards, the Verve 48 has an invigorating top end of 57 mph. That speed, along with its open exterior and stepped hull, predestine the 48 for hot, sunny waters (think South Florida). Features such as the foldout rear deck that lifts to become an alfresco dining area and the large asymmetrical social area in the bow cement the Verve 48’s status as a dayboat. Its carbon-fiber construction, smart helm, and full exterior galley are major distinguishers among its competitors. The two-stateroom cabin also has a head, separate shower, and dinette for cruising potential, but at heart the Verve is a fast, fun, high-end entertainment platform for family and friends.
Innovation: Bluegame BGM75
Bluegame’s decision to create a power cat with a narrower beam had multiple knock-on effects. Aesthetically, the BGM75 has a svelte profile, unlike the typical boxy look of most in the category. There’s also excellent space for the main salon, measuring 27 feet across, while the designers extended the guest staterooms into the boat’s midsection rather than squeezing them into the multihulls.
The full-beam main suite is perhaps the best argument for the approach, incorporating a sizable bedroom and large ensuite across the front of the boat. The twin hulls also multiply the BGM75’s efficiency, with the Italian builder claiming it burns 30 percent less fuel than a 90-foot monohull with a similar volume. A minimalist helm, spacious flybridge, and full- beam tender garage put it in a category of one. The subtle luxury of the interior only increases the distance between this breakthrough design and other yachts its size. Expect copycats.
Weekender: Bolide 80
In this current era of sustainability, the Bolide 80 is almost defiantly petrolicious, a water rocket powered by triple 2,000 hp MAN engines that hits 86 mph. But speed is just one facet of a vessel that is equal parts art and engineering, all wrapped in an 81-foot, seven-inch carbon-fiber hull. Victory Marine’s “Hyper Muscle Yacht” looks fast even sitting still, the lean profile noteworthy thanks to its unusually long forefoot and curved, swept-back stern with side wind scoops. The cockpit is stylishly functional, and the helm has the requisite space-age look with large displays. And the interior is different from anything else on the water: The burnt-sienna leather walls, with light strips set into the ceiling, are combined with notable features such as a leather Pullman-style dresser and carbon-fiber arches. The Bolide isn’t an everyman vessel, but its build quality, design, and performance make it one of the most interesting we’ve seen in years.
Beach Club: ‘Leona’
The Red Bullet, as Bilgin’s 263-foot Leona was nicknamed by one of its designers, has an interior dripping in exotic custom materials. But H2 Yacht Design saved the most outrageous features for the inimitable beach club—once you see it, you can’t forget it. The 28-foot, blue-tiled swimming pool is surrounded by Aphrodite-style statues along with marble fountains and backlit wall panels. Natural light floods through three shell doors when open, creating a faux-Grecian sea terrace. When closed, a starry night sky comes into view, courtesy of the glittering fiber-optic ceiling. Of course, any beach club of this caliber would have to include a shisha smoking lounge, a wellness area with gold- colored furniture, and a gym with a mirrored, leather-trimmed ceiling. Treatment rooms and a sauna are also part of the lower-deck complex, while a post-swim movie can be enjoyed in the adjacent cinema lounge covered, naturally, in ruby-red velvet.
Comeback: ‘H3’
Returning to Oceanco for a rebirth 22 years after its delivery, the 345-foot H3 received a 33-foot hull extension—26 feet at the stern and seven feet to the forward deck line—plus a remodeled superstructure and an entirely reimagined interior. The yacht was originally launched in 2000 as Al Mirqab and later renamed Indian Empress before the current owner enlisted U.K. firm Reymond Langton to transform the formerly boxy boat into a sleek and modern gigayacht. The extra length now holds a large pool aft, with a waterfall and a bottom that raises to become a dance floor. H3 also has more accommodations for the 32 crew, and a full-beam VIP suite that doubles as a second primary. The interior includes a 33-foot-long video corridor and an LED “tech window,” both of which are softened by custom leather wall panels, bronze and nickel detailing, and backlit infinity mirrors. Perhaps the most impressive stat? Sixty percent emissions reduction following the refit.

Why Azimut’s Seadeck Series is the next best thing in eco-yachting
Italian shipyard Azimut has reached a huge turning point in its decades-long goal to become an eco-friendly innovator. In fact, thanks to the new Azimut Seadeck Series , a conscious owner will be able to cut their emissions by up to 40 per cent over one year of typical use compared to a flybridge yacht of the same size. Seadeck is the culmination of Azimut's 20-year R&D drive to implement sustainable innovations to reduce CO2 emissions and energy consumption, delivering the shipyard's most efficient series ever.
As the eco-awareness of yachtsmen grows together with a noticeable desire of reconnecting with nature, the cutting-edge Series has come at the perfect time and is set to make a grand impression on next year’s show circuit, starting with boot Düsseldorf 2024 where the Seadeck 6 will be presented for the first time.
Available in three size ranges – Seadeck 6, Seadeck 7 and Seadeck 8 – the Series’ exceptionally low fuel consumption, evolutionary design and following key features will no doubt see the yachts fly off the shelf.
Connected to nature
Behind the Seadeck Series is Alberto Mancini for the exterior design and interior concept, and architects Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez for the interior style and decor. The team advocated for a “return to nature” theme through their design choices and selected sinuous lines and an open aft lounge to embrace the sea.
Building on the desire for a nature-immersive lifestyle, as already done with Benetti’s bestselling Oasis Deck™, the Seadeck features an aft terrace called the “Fun Island”. The open-air space, which can be extended thanks to the fold-down side terraces, offers a unique setting for al fresco dining and sunbathing facing the horizon without any boundaries. The Fun Island uses broad openable glass windows and doors to create a blended interior and exterior, as if each space melds into the other. This also transforms the yacht into a highly social place, where guests can easily come together wherever they are onboard.
"Seadeck is a new starting point for future generations,” Azimut Benetti chairwoman Giovanna Vitelli says. “We wish to chart a course that will be an inspiration for the entire industry so that the theme of respect for the environment is interpreted – as it is for Seadeck – with a concrete approach made up of investment, technological research, and the courage to introduce a new lifestyle that embraces the sea."
“With the introduction of the Fun Island, Seadeck is actually a floating island where owners can get away from their daily routine and live in total contact with the sea,” explains designer, Alberto Mancini.
Powered by green energy
Azimut’s approach to conserving energy onboard a Seadeck yacht is multifaceted. The yacht’s Volvo IPS propulsion system paired with the high-efficiency hull by Names and Azimut and the extensive use of carbon fibre – that covers 40% of the boat’s surfaces, an unrivalled percentage – are large contributors towards reducing the yacht’s overall carbon emissions. In addition, the Seadeck Series will be the first yacht family in the world to be equipped with Volvo’s electric hybrid system to further reduce CO2 emissions. Plus, when operating in Zero Emission Hotel Mode, a battery pack produces electrical power for stabilisation, air conditioning and other amenities. It can maintain the yacht for a total of eight hours overnight or four hours during the day while at anchor with solar panels supplementing the yacht’s battery packs at any time.
Functional aspects of the yacht’s interior, such as entertainment centres, appliances and onboard systems, all operate in Eco Mode to ensure the yacht minimises its energy consumption wherever possible. Elsewhere, anti-UV films on the windows act to lower indoor temperatures and the subsequent need for air conditioning. Furthermore, the thermal energy recovered from the engines helps produce hot water more sustainably on board.
Natural and recycled materials
The yard’s Low-Emission yachts now make up half of Azimut’s fleet, with all models delivering a 20 to 30 per cent reduction in emissions. To increase this figure, Azimut’s R&D Department has masterminded a new design and substituted several materials to create the Seadeck series.
The conscious design concept by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez uses several design elements to empower Azimut’s sustainable focus – a key feature being the environmentally-friendly cork that lines the decking instead of teak.
For the bulkheads, a new material was developed by the shipyard from plastic bottles. By recycling around 15,000 bottles for each yacht, PET material was formed. Other natural and recycled materials situated throughout include the eco-gel coat for bulkheads and decks, and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood.
“We wanted to create a boat that puts maximum emphasis on the concept of openness and transparency, and that also represented a radical change in terms of the relationship with nature,” adds Mancini.
With the first sights of the series scheduled to happen within the next 20 months, the completed Seadeck 6 will premiere at Düsseldorf in 2024, the Seadeck 7 will be on show at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival and the Seadeck 8 will be available later that year.

New Boats at Cannes Boat Show: Azimut Seadeck 7

The impressive Azimut Seadeck 7 will be featured alongside the Seadeck 6 at Cannes. Both boats feature a full diesel electric hybrid drive
Azimut is coming out all guns blazing at Cannes Boat Show with not one but three new show debuts. The freshest of these is the Seadeck 7, which was still having the finishing touches applied to it as we write this.
Like its smaller sibling, the Seadeck 6 , which was launched earlier this summer, the Seadeck 7 has a strong focus on sustainability and will be the first Azimut to feature a full diesel electric hybrid drive. Technical details of this have not yet been released but it’s likely to use Volvo Penta IPS drives and D13 engines linked to a smaller electric motor and battery pack for silent manoeuvring and low-speed cruising over short distances.
It’s not just the drive system that contributes towards a claimed 40% reduction in emissions. Extensive use of carbon fibre and a vacuum-infused hull keeps weight down for improved fuel efficiency, while reconstituted cork decking and carpets made from recycled plastics reduce the consumption of virgin raw materials.
Sliding side doors provide a closer connection with the sea
The design follows the template set by the Seadeck 6 with softer lines that reflect its focus on relaxation and a closer connection with the sea. At the heart of this is Azimut’s ‘Fun Island’ featuring a drop-down staircase into the sea and folding platforms on either side of a central sunbed and dining area. The starboard one even has fittings for a hammock stand built into it.

Le Défi Azimut : Mastbruch im 48-Stunden-Rennen – Romain Attanasio muss kämpfen
Tatjana Pokorny
· 13.09.2024
