At 28.5″ long and 8″ wide, it’s an agile city cruiser that can go where many boards can’t. The Classic Dinghy is pressed with 7 plies of Canadian maple for a light, stiff and poppy ride. It comes set up with Polar Bear 105mm trucks for maximum agility and a super-tight turning circle. 63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs wheels finish off the setup and ensure you’ll have a smooth ride with plenty of roll speed and grip without having to worry about wheel bite.

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below.  The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.

Flexy – Soft and supple flex profile best suited for carving and cruising on longer boards. The bouncy nature of these decks lets you turn deeper and surf your surrounds.

Medium – The do it all of our boards, a perfect balance of stability and carve. 

Stiff – From cruisers to downhill boards a stiff flex profile excels in stability and responsiveness.  Whether you’re dipping into driveways or bombing a mountain pass you’ll be down with the stiffness.

Light as a feather and strong as an ox. The Landyachtz Dinghy is a small maple commuting board ideal for getting from A to B. The maple construction makes for strong, light board and thus easy to handle with smooth ride. It’s the ideal size for stuffing in a locker, coat check at the bar, under your arm in the grocery store or carrying on to a plane.

The board comes with a slight kicktail, just enough tail to Ollie a curb and its extremely short wheel base allow you to make the tightest possible turns and gives you heaps of traction. Riding this board everyday will make you a better rider. Certain models also come equipped with a thin layer of foam sandwiched between the board and the griptape, making for an ultra-comfortable ride.

The Dinghy comes set up with 105mm Polar Bear trucks, Fatty Hawgs and Bear Spaceball bearings.

Hibiscus Moscow Mule (or Sorrel Moscow Mule in Jamaica) is the new favorite cocktail around here . Or as I refer to it, the argument-settling, friendship-remaking, evening-saving Hibiscus Moscow Mule.

Let me rewind for a moment. So, this was a bit topical. Had some people over, just after the Brexit vote. And I’ve got both pro and anti-friends. And I hadn’t realized quite the depth of feeling that had been involved.

Anyway, one person came in (let’s call him Bob) with a bottle of vodka, shouting “let’s celebrate! Freedom from the tyranny of the Eurocrats!” Which made my friend (let’s call him Pete) seethe, and start getting seriously cross.

It looked like the whole evening was going to be ruined by two people repeating hackneyed certainties when, in the middle of it all, Pete asked about a drink. Which made Bob produce his vodka, and say that to keep going he needed a Moscow mule or something like that.

Long story cut short – they actually made up, while going through my cupboard searching for the perfect cocktail ingredients, and finding some hibiscus syrup in the fridge. Yeap, quarrel over, and calmness reigned over a hibiscus Moscow mule.

Sorrel Moscow Mule – Why You’ll Love It

• This hibiscus cocktail is really perfect for the Christmas holidays . It is refreshing, has some of my favorite things like hibiscus and ginger beer along with a splash of lovely Christmas color.
• You can easily add more alcoho l if you prefer a bit more of a kick.

How to Make a Hibiscus Moscow Mule

To make the hibiscus mule.

• Add the ginger beer, vodka, hibiscus syrup (see below), and lemon juice with some ice into a cocktail shaker. 
• Shake the mixture and decant into a glass.  
• Add extra ice and garnish with dried hibiscus flowers or lemon slices, if desired.

To Make Hibiscus Syrup

• Combine the sugar, water, and dried hibiscus flowers in a small saucepan and simmer, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved. 
• Allow the mixture to cool, strain out the hibiscus, and pour into a container. 
• Store your sorrel syrup in the fridge for up to a week.

Jamaican sorrel, or Caribbean sorrel, is another name for a hibiscus plant called Roselle. Roselle is native to West Africa, and is a very popular drink ingredient.

Hibiscus Moscow Mule – West African Flavors

Ingredients.

• ▢ 1/4 cup (75ml) ginger beer
• ▢ 3 Tbsp vodka
• ▢ 1/4 cup (75ml) hibiscus syrup
• ▢ 1-2 Tbsp lemon juice
• ▢ ice cubes
• ▢ lemon slices

For the Hibiscus Syrup

• ▢ 1/2 cup (110g) sugar
• ▢ 1/2 cup (125ml) water
• ▢ 1/4 cup (55g) dried hibiscus flowers or more for a darker syrup

Instructions

Hibiscus mule instructions:.

• Add the ginger beer, vodka, hibiscus syrup, and lemon juice with some ice into a cocktail shaker.
• Shake the mixture and decant into a glass. 

Hibiscus Syrup Instructions:

• Combine the sugar, water and dried hibiscus flowers in a small saucepan and simmer, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved.
• Allow the mixture to cool, strain out the hibiscus and pour into a container.
• Store the hibiscus syrup in the refrigerator for up to a week.

This hibiscus Moscow mule is made with hibiscus vodka, ginger beer, and lime. The hibiscus (or flor de Jamaica) gives it a bright pink color. You can use store bought hibiscus vodka, or make it yourself in a few hours with dried hibiscus flowers and vodka using my Homemade Hibiscus Vodka recipe .

This drink is a summery twist on the classic Moscow mule with the addition of tart hibiscus and orange liqueur. It's basically an alcoholic version of agua de Jamaica or sweet hibiscus tea, a common Mexican agua fresca. The vibrant pink color makes it a flashy drink to serve at summer parties, and you can even mix a large batch and serve in a pitcher with lime slices.

Hibiscus Moscow mule cocktail

• Hibiscus vodka (recipe here)
• Ginger beer
• Simple syrup
• Grand Marnier (or other orange liqueur)

Homemade Hibiscus Vodka

While you can use store bought hibiscus vodka (such as the Absolut Hibiscus Vodka ), I recommend making your own hibiscus-infused vodka . While other infused vodkas can take days or weeks to prepare, such as Cucumber Vodka , you can make hibiscus vodka in just a few hours.

All you need is cheap vodka, dried hibiscus , and a few hours. You can f ind the full instructions here . Once you have your vodka ready, it's time to make the drinks.

Homemade hibiscus vodka

This recipe makes 1 drink, but you can easily double, triple, quadruple, or multiply it enough to make a full pitcher. If you do this, add some lime slices to the pitcher for extra flavor.

• Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice, or a cup of ice.
• Cover and shake until thoroughly chilled.
• Pour into a glass (chilled or frozen is best) and garnish with lime or orange slices, and a cocktail umbrella. Serve immediately.
