About the tour.

Departing from Airlie Beach, Camira cruises past Whitsunday Island, passing Daydream, Hamilton and Hook islands en route. On Whitsunday Island’s east coast, Camira moors at the northern end of Whitehaven Beach, a 7km arc of dazzling white sand, regularly voted Australia’s best beach.

On a guided hike to Hill Inlet lookout, follow a path walked by the Whitsundays’ traditional owners, the Ngaro people. Back on the beach, swim and stroll along the shore before a BBQ lunch cooked and served on board. After lunch, you will head to one of the Whitsundays fringing reefs for some snorkelling before sailing back to shore.

Physical rating: Please be advised that a moderate level of fitness and agility is recommended for this experience, which includes bushwalking, snorkelling, and climbing in and out of tenders. High temperatures and humidity are possible, especially in the summer months.

*Please also note for any guests wanting to snorkel the fringing reef from Camira, you must have adequate swimming abilities as there are no flotation devices available.

Jump onboard and prepare for a peaceful holiday surrounded by beauty. Head over to the islands in time for sunset over the water as you enjoy a glass of your favourite wine and meet the others whom you’ll be spending time with. Have your dinner served under the stars before tucking in for the night in your cabin.

Wake up in the morning to the stunning island scenery surrounding the boat and enjoy a leisurely breakfast on board. Sail down to tongue bay to make your way up to Hill Inlet Lookout and take in the stunning vista of the world-famous Whitehaven Beach. Spend some time exploring the beach itself before coming back on board for lunch on the go. Watching the beautiful scenery change as you sail north.

Jump into the delightful water for a swim and snorkel over the beautiful coral reefs teeming with bright colourful fish. If you’re lucky, spot a turtle or meet George the Maori-Wrasse! If there’s time, possibly go for another beach visit or snorkel before sharing an antipasto platter while you watch the sunset.

You can bring you own alcohol as this vessel is not licensed. Please no glass bottles or red wine. Adventurer is BYO which is great, so pick up a few bottles of wonderful Australian wine to enjoy under the stars in the evening

Please pack in a small soft sided bag. No hard/suitcases or large backpacks. We do not have luggage storage. Cabins on our Whitsundays sailing boats are pretty compact- so take as little as you possibly can on board. You can store luggage at your hotel or hostel in Airlie Beach. In a cabin baggage size bag bring; enough clothes for the duration of your trip, swimwear, a towel, light footwear such as flip-flips/thongs or slides, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and camera.

Check in by 7.00pm the day prior day of departure at Shop 1, 4 Airlie Esplanade, Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia. Tour departs the Coral Sea Marina Resort at 3pm.

There are luggage storage facilities in Airlie Beach or you may be able to store your luggage at your hotel or accommodation.

We provide a mask, snorkel and stinger suit for every person on the trip included in the price. We do not provide fins. We do provide life jackets, and other flotation devices on request if needed. All our tours are eco-certified, and for us to keep in line with the regulations set out by this certification, we do everything we can to limit the amount of damage to the coral. We found, through years of experience, that giving people fins drastically increased the damage occurring to the coral. A stinger suit is a thin wetsuit appropriate for the warmer water here in the Whitsundays. They are designed to help protect you against stingers and from the sun while you snorkel.

All meals and snacks are included for the duration of your trip. Our crew freshly prepares each meal for you to enjoy using locally sourced, seasonal fruits and vegetables. Usually served buffet style; you can choose to eat anywhere onboard. Meals are a great communal time to get to know your fellow travellers.

A typical menu includes continental-style breakfasts, a filling lunch made up of build-your-own rolls, and two different salads plus accompaniments. Two delicious and hearty dinners, usually home-cooked style meals with salads and side dishes.

There will be snacks and afternoon nibbles, and tea and coffee available throughout the trip.

The Whitsundays is a group of islands a little off the coast of Queensland and is approximately nine hundred kilometres from Brisbane. The Whitsunday islands are believed to have been named after the Whitsunday passage that was discovered by Captain Cook. These islands are not only unchanged from humans for the most part but are also surrounded by one of the seven natural wonders of the world – The Great Barrier Reef.

We are lucky enough to have two kinds of reef around The Whitsundays. We have “fringing reef” which is coral reef that grows in the shallow waters surrounding the Islands. We also have what is called the Outer Reef which is several hours away from the mainland and furthest Islands.

Whitsundays Sailing Adventures operates out of Airlie Beach which is also known as “The Gateway to the Islands”.

It is a popular destination among tourists who travel to see the wonders of The Great Barrier Reef and the North Queensland coast.

Terms & Conditions:

• To participate in this tour, guests need to be able to climb down steps and in and out of a small tender. Red Cat Adventures has limited mobility and wheelchair access
• This tour is not recommended for children under six years old. However, children under 6 years old must be approved before departure, and there are limitations regarding their participation in water activities. Children under six years old need to supply their lifejackets
• A pregnancy waiver must be signed before travel for all pregnant passengers. Red Cat Adventures is happy for anyone who has been approved by a doctor to be fit and healthy in their second trimester to travel. If you are in your first or third trimester, a doctor’s certificate is required before travelling. It is up to the skipper’s decision on the day they are happy for you to travel, depending on the weather conditions that day. Safety for mum and baby is highest priority
• Vessel may need to be substituted at any time without notice
• Cruises are weather-dependent and may be cancelled at the discretion of Red Cat Adventures for passenger and crew safety
• At certain times of the year dangerous jellyfish inhabit these waters. To minimise this risk, you will have a full-length protective snorkel suit to wear while swimming and snorkelling during the cruise. Passengers entering the water do so at their own risk

Experience the true beauty of the whitsunday islands on your own boat.

Well, not quite your own boat – but one you’ve chartered for your sole use – just you, your friends and family. Chartering your own ‘bareboat’ means hiring a vessel with no crew – so you’re in charge – but don’t worry, there is a detailed and comprehensive briefing beforehand (no boat licence required!) and the VHF radio on board connects you with the base.

The friendly bareboat team will help you plan an itinerary tailored to your requirements, as you carve out your own adventure amongst the islands.

Whether you are a couple, a group of friends or a family (larger vessels accommodate up to 10 guests) you can enjoy the freedom of choosing your own route, and filling your days with scuba diving, snorkelling and fishing. Or take a hike on one of the islands - mostly uninhabited National Parks - and discover untouched beaches with white sand and crystal clear waterfalls tumbling into cool pools.

You can charter a sailing yacht, a catamaran or a power cruiser, each with different benefits - see below for our tips – and you can go it alone or ask for a sail guide and hostess to accompany you. At night, you can gaze up at the endless expanse of starlit sky, sheltered from the breeze in an inlet or secluded bay, and contemplate the universe.

Catamarans are becoming more and more popular as charter boats. Hiring a catamaran offers the following advantages:

Extra space both above and below decks - larger catamarans can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people.

Catamarans provide a stable platform, with little to no heeling over when sailing. When at anchor, there is no rolling, guaranteeing a peaceful night’s sleep.

Catamarans have a much shallower draft than monohulls, which allows anchoring close to shore, and having two engines is a bonus - if one goes, you still have the other one!

Dasha Way joined our fleet in August 2017. Launched in 2014, our new Lipari 41 features 4 double cabins all ensuite. Hardtop bimini protects you from the sun but if you prefer to feel the wind in your hair then the foredeck with trampoline is a great area to relax. This vessel is perfect for just a couple, friends or two families looking for a wonderful time cruising around the Whitsundays.

Fluffy Muffy features 3 good sized cabins, 2 are queen size berths one with en suite, the other with a smaller single berth. There is a further double in the aft and a large private toilet, shower and vanity. The Lightwave 38 provides ample space for a family or 3 couples cruising the Whitsundays.

Tasman Ocean 35

Serendipity is a beautiful Tasman Ocean 35 sailing catamaran. Featuring 3 double berths in private cabins – ‘Serendipity’ has one large bathroom as well as an ensuite. The cockpit is covered by an awning providing excellent shade protection.

As a much-loved favourite in Airlie Beach, Camira boasts panoramic views where every seat is the best seat in the house! The comfortable and spacious 85-foot sailing catamaran is the perfect place to enjoy the wonderful sunsets of the Whitsundays, leaving guests to enjoy the warm breeze and azure waters. Sailing along the coastline of the small seaside village of Airlie Beach, it gives off a Mediterranean vibe, making for some incredible backdrops for photos. Guests must be able to show valid ID at check in to support their ticket type (i.e Senior ticket). If you cannot produce the valid identification to meet your ticket requirements, you will not be able to travel without paying a surcharge/difference in fare.

Children are not permitted on Camira Sunset. Guests must be 15 years + for this trip. Any guest under 18 years old requires a parent or guardian to accompany and supervise them for the entirety of the trip.

Children are not permitted on the Camira Sunset Sail. 

Your Responsibilities:

Please advise us before booking if any passengers are under 18 years old to ensure this is the appropriate trip. 

You must reconfirm all booked tours prior to travel as specified on your voucher. If applicable, notes such as dietary requirements, pick-up locations and additional fees should also be confirmed at this time. Reconfirmations cannot be actioned through Sailing Whitsundays/Mr Travel, and must be done so directly through the Service Operator as specified on each ticket.

It is your responsibility to notify us of ticket discrepancies. Please read through the details on your voucher thoroughly to ensure all details such as passenger names, ages and dates of travel on vouchers are correct.

It is the responsibility of all passengers travelling to advise both your travel agent at the time of booking and vessel check-in agent before boarding of any medical conditions including food allergies you may suffer from.

You need to allow adequate time to check-in prior to the specified departure time. 

Prices/Extra Costs:

All prices are stated in Australian dollars and include GST. Surcharges over peak holiday seasons may apply. 

The Service Operator reserves the right to alter prices and extra costs. Extra costs may include EMC fees, Stingersuit/Wetsuit Hire, Luggage Storage, Insurance, Linen Hire, National Park Fees, Fuel Levies, Dietary Fees, etc. Bonds may also apply.

We will also endeavour to communicate these extra costs with you at the time of booking, and on your ticket. However, it is your responsibility to confirm which (if any) additional costs apply with each Service Operator upon reconfirming your trip.

Travel Risk/Insurance:

It should be noted that adventure travel involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard clients, we cannot be responsible for personal injury or loss due to the actions of our clients which are beyond our control. We highly recommend that all clients have travel insurance covering illness, injury, loss or damage to personal belongings and not being able to travel on the confirmed date of departure. You should also ensure your travel insurance will cover special circumstances including weather events preventing guests from travelling to their tour departure destination and cancelled flights due to unforeseen circumstances. 

The Service Operator reserves the right to limit courtesy transfers to select local accommodations. Private residences or Airbnb properties may be asked to meet at the closest confirmed location. Failure to meet at the specified pick-up location may be treated as “No Show”, for which the Client Cancellation Policy applies.

Merchant Fees:

Please be aware operators pass on credit card merchant fees so there is a non-refundable 1% surcharge for VISA and MASTERCARD card purchases.

All ticket/voucher reissues attract a $20 administration fee.

Open Date Vouchers / Gift Certificate:

Shipping Costs are in addition to the ticket price and will be added at check-out. Shipping costs are non-refundable and do not makeup part of the ticket value. 

E-Vouchers incur no shipping fees. You have 5 years to use the value of the voucher. Seasonal Price Rises will apply if travelling out the current seasons pricing. Vouchers can be exchanged for free up to the full value of the voucher excluding credit card fees and charges.

Cancellations

Client Cancellations:

No shows or client cancellations made within 72 hours of departure forfeit 100% of the total ticket price. 

Transfers between tours can be made at the suppliers discretion, however, it should be noted that supplier fees may apply. Tour transfers also incur a $20 administration fee. 

It is compulsory that all cancellation requests are in writing and sent via email to [email protected]. Cancellations attempted via online chat or phone will not be actioned.

Supplier Cancellations:

The Service Operator reserves the right to alter prices, alter itineraries, apply a fuel surcharge, cancel departures, arrange alternative transport and vary itineraries and services if necessary.

All departures and itineraries are subject to weather. Tours may be changed or cancelled for any reason at the discretion of the Service Operator. If the Service Operator has to cancel the trip or activity (prior to departure) and we cannot offer a suitable alternative, then a refund will be given minus a 20% administration fee and any associated card fees. We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance, especially during the wet season.

In the unlikely event of your trip being cancelled or stood down, all guest communication is required to go through our Online Store via telephone or email. While there is a Sailing Whitsundays retail outlet located Airlie Beach, please be aware that they operate as a separate entity and are unable to access reservations made by the Mr Travel online department.

All refunds are in Australian Dollars and must be made to the card of payment. Sailing Whitsundays/Mr Travel is not liable for exchange rate fluctuations or fees, or any other merchant/bank fees associated with domestic and/or international transactions.

Where a full refund is applicable, there is the option to transfer the whole cost of the tour to another tour or “Credit” to avoid the administration fee. A transfer fee of $20 will apply.

You will be emailed confirmation once the refund has been processed. Once the refund has been processed, it may still take time for the banks to clear the amount. Please allow 7-10 business days for the funds to clear into Australian accounts and up to 21 business days for international accounts.

Accountability/Misconduct:

All Service Operators have the right to provide client feedback and to cancel bookings based off of feedback from other Service Operators.

Sailing Whitsundays/Mr Travel will treat this as any normal client cancellation and therefore the cancellation fees stated in the Client Cancellation Policy will apply.
