Motor Yacht

Universe is a semi-custom motor yacht launched in 2018 by Amels, in the Netherlands.

AMELS are masters in the art of modern Dutch high-value yacht building. The yard is the largest superyacht facility in the Netherlands and one of the top superyacht builders in the world. In 2005 AMELS launched the successful LIMITED EDITIONS and delivered the first yacht of the series in 2007. The shipyard also specialises in the build of full-custom superyachts, with the in-construction Project Signature due to become the largest superyacht ever built in the Netherlands upon her scheduled launch in 2025.

Universe measures 74.00 metres in length, with a max draft of 3.85 feet and a beam of 12.45 feet. She has a gross tonnage of 1,790 tonnes.

Tim Heywood, the multi award-winning yacht designer, has produced some of the finest and largest yachts on the water. Among his exceptional designs is the stunning 133m Al Mirqab, which was awarded the coveted ‘Motor Yacht of the Year’ at the 2009 World Superyacht Awards.

Her interior design is by Winch Design.

Universe also features naval architecture by Damen Yachting.

Universe is a semi-custom Amels 242 model.

Motor yacht UNIVERSE is a 74.0m (242'9") luxury vessel built by the Dutch shipyard Amels and launched in 2018. The yacht was designed by Tim Heywood, offering accommodation for 12 guests in 6 staterooms and a professional crew of 19 in 10 crew cabins.

The lower deck swim platform provides a large area close to the water for sunbathing as well as access to the tenders and water toys. A staircase leads up to the main deck aft, where there is a swimming pool up the centre and sun loungers placed on both sides.

The upper deck aft places a round sofa/sunbed into both corners and an oval alfresco dining table and wet bar in the shade close to the sliding doors into the skylounge. Side walkways leads around to the foredeck, where two plush sofa/sunbeds each with a side table let guests unwind in a tranquil setting with marvellous forward views.

The bridge deck aft hosts a helipad for guests to conveniently arrive and leave throughout the cruise, and those awaiting transport can take the weight off their feet and settle into the two sofas around a coffee table for refreshments before heading off. The bridge deck forward has a loveseat in front of the helm station for a couple of guests to watch the sunset together.

On the sundeck, plenty of space has been left aft for sun loungers, seating or yoga mats for outdoor exercise the communication masts create a shaded middle section for the group to rest out of the sun, and forward a Jacuzzi is set in the centre of plush sunpads for a refreshing dip before drying off in the daylight or under the stars.

UNIVERSE Specifications

The interior have yet to be revealed by the shipyard.

A pair of Caterpillar 3516C engines of 2,719 HP each create a top speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.

Yacht Accommodation

The accommodation sleeps a maximum of 12 guests over 6 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite, 2 VIP staterooms and 3 double cabins. ~ An expert crew of 19 will be on hand throughout the journey to provide the first-class service to everyone on board.

78m Amels superyacht Energy becomes a joint central agency

The 77.8-metre Amels superyacht Energy , recently listed for sale for the first time with Peter Brown of Burgess , is now a joint central agency with Cecil Wright & Partners too.

Designed by Espen Øino and François Zuretti – who first worked together on the design of the 74.5-metre Eco , now Zeus , with Martin Francis in the 1980s – the steel and aluminium yacht was delivered by Amels in 2022. Naval architecture is by Damen/Amels .

The broker said Energy is the most recently delivered Northern European yacht over 70 metres LOA on the market today. The design brief given to exterior designer Øino and interior designer Zuretti (who won the Lifetime Achievement award at the BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards 2023 ) – was to "defy convention and find ways to connect with the ocean". The end result certainly achieves that with distinction.

Energy has only been used privately and boasts a spacious owner's suite with private terrace and a Jacuzzi, a glass elevator and a sea-level gym with beauty salon, sauna, Hammam and beach club with bar and fold-out terrace – reached by step-free access from the lower deck cabins.

Accommodation is provided for a party of 14 in seven cabins. As well as the owner's suite on the upper deck, there are two VIP cabins on the main deck and four double guest cabins on the lower deck. Quarters are provided for a crew of 27.

The top deck's helipad forward doubles as a sun lounge, a yoga studio with ocean views, or a vast space on which to entertain, having a large "statement bar" under cover. A circular Jacuzzi surrounded by sunpads is found aft.

The bridge deck features a music lounge, designed for acoustic excellence, with a Steinway baby grand piano and marble-topped bar. The upper deck, sporting the owner's private saloon surrounded by opening glass on three sides, also hosts a 16-person dining table aft for on-deck dining and "one of the largest pools on any yacht, anywhere".

On the main deck, the VIP suites each have a balcony forward, formed by the extra-wide side decks. Moving aft, there is a boardroom-style office, martial arts room and a formal dining room, before one reaches an intimate "waterfall lounge".

The 2,885GT, Lloyds Register-classed yacht for sale is powered by twin 2,240kW engines giving her a top speed of 17 knots and cruising speed of 13.5 knots. Range is 5,000 nautical miles at 13 knots.

Lying in Monaco, Energy is asking €199,000,000.
